Colonel Johnson let off a burst from his thompson into the zombie in front of him. The creature staggered back a few feet before meeting the edge of the stairs and falling back into the courtyard. From his vantage point on the ramparts, Johnson had a clear view of the battle roaring on around him; and at a glance it was obvious things were going poorly. Those stationed in the courtyard had fought valiantly, but couldn't keep the beasts at a distance and were now getting chewed away at. Johnson had no idea how the other side of the castle was doing, but he could of sworn that the sound of gunfire was getting quieter... Aiming once again down the stairs, Johnson squeezed and held down the trigger unleashing hellfire into the group of beasts below. He heard a click as his ammo ran out and before he could reload one of the beasts got ahold of him. The feeling of fire ran through his arm as the beast bit into him and he could of sworn he felt the virus enter his veins. A deafening boom rang out as the man beside him brought around his shotgun and put a hole in the beast's chest before kicking it off of Johnson and off the wall. Johnson nodded a thanks and pulled out his service pistol, placing it in his good hand. They were fools, he knew that now. Hell, he had known it when he watched the horde of undead crest the horizon. Half a million strong, the scouts had told them. The scouts had warned them days in advance about the approaching horde. However, Johnson and others of the caravan believed that the castle they had been staying in would protect them. When the General suggested that they retreat, leave what had become their home and travel into the unknown once again, they were shocked. Outraged they called him a coward, rallying around the idea that the ancient fortress could stave off any threat. They caused such a raucous that a vote was called. In the end, 1/3 of the force decided to stay with Johnson as their leader. The rest packed up what vehicles the caravan had and left with the General Still, Johnson was sure they would survive. Now, in his last moments, he admits that he was a fool. However, he refused to stop fighting. Backing up from the stairwell, he fired his service pistol into the ever growing crowd of undead in front of him. He forced his way through the men behind him and they moved themselves to cover him, knowing what was happening. Reaching one of the towers that rose above the castle, Johnson rushed his way up the stairs to the top clutching his arm. He was feeling the effects of losing so much blood, but refused to succumb to them as he struggled through every step. Finally, he reached the top. Where he was met with a communications device. Before leaving, the General gave Johnson a key and told him about the bomb. Not wanting to risk moving it, he had decided to leave it there. Johnson scoffed and promised the General they wouldn't need it. He had lied. Johnson walked over to the device and slowly put in the key. For a moment, he felt a cool breeze blowing in from the south and felt the sun on his skin. In between the ever lessening gunshots and the screams of the undead, he swore he could hear birds chirping. In his last moments, Johnson admitted defeat and turned the key.
Of course there might be a limitation in the software and how you can setup the defense. As there is no tangle foot at the gates and breach at the wall. The troops manning the gates are in a straight line, they should be in a short U shape providing massed cross fire while also protecting the stairs to the ramparts. This is creating a kill zone, something Edwin Rommel and George Patton were skilled at.
This seems to go according to all zombie apocalypse lore I know about. Swarms of zombies overrun any attempt at fighting them. And the worst possible position to hold is one of static defense. Static defense becomes a war of attrition, and you can not wear out a horde. It just keeps on coming. But I have noticed in this battle simulator that when both sides have units that can move, the outcome is more unpredictable. If the soldiers had the option of falling back to more defensible positions, this might have gone better. For the soldiers.
This game needs more complex combat. Area denial flamethrower, indirect fire mortar, AOE rocket launcher. Along with melee units like slow walking tank monster, fast wall climber and flyer.
Didn't seem like the machine gun soldiers had much effect on the zombies. On the close ups, a machine gunner would be shooting into a zombie for about 5 seconds before it would go down.
Ok i will recreate this battle again. I wanted to use tanks but there weren't any slots left for me to add tanks.. but due to people requesting this battle with tanks i would recreate it.
I would have covered every section of the top just to keep the topside secure and then I’d put mortar guys on the towers and see how that would play out
It's a terrible. How many deads for nothing. Why soliders and zombies must fight each other. Did you ever think that zombies and soldiers could live in peace? Trade, drink bear, burn children?
Wall guys did basically nothing lol Also, who would choose a castle with SIX entrances? At least close the metal doors, and cut that number by 4 holy crap.
as always in those "a few against many" battles you can tell within the first 3 or 4 minutes if "the few" would win or loose. if the attacker managed to make contact early "the few" will loose. becouse every defender down reduce the firepower adn so more attacker gets closer.
I assume the stats get tweaked to make the videos more interesting...? In other videos, a line of roman generals goes through masses of zombies like a thresher taking no casualties for a while. Yet here soldiers armed with submachine guns get overwhelmed very quickly.
Yes, ofcourse.. there not much in the game the rooster is limited for now so we try using custom units btw shotgun soldiers have only 80 hp while roman generals have 500hp plus blocking and armour!

Those soldiers on the walls are useless they would have killed more Zombies and may have won the battle down on the ground near or at those entrance points, and if the soldiers would have been allowed to move to help fill in the gapes....
What a pathetic error in the game. Those zombies would never get remotely that close. The rate of automatic weapons fire is substantially greater than the zombie kill rate. It’s like the guys on the walls are shooting blanks. Boo!!!!!

This game needs more complex combat. Area denial flamethrower, indirect fire mortar, AOE rocket launcher. Along with melee units like slow walking tank monster, fast wall climber and flyer.
I like how all those aggressive zombies when reach near the soldiers wait for their turn.
Didn't seem like the machine gun soldiers had much effect on the zombies. On the close ups, a machine gunner would be shooting into a zombie for about 5 seconds before it would go down.
That was pretty epic. Dynamic constantly changing battles like that are the best

I would have abandoned the section with the big breach in favor of the other section, turning two choking points and a breach into one choking point.

A little less number of soldiers should be placed in the areas with narrow entrances, and more soldiers should be placed in areas with wide entrances.
