  • I made a diy cat flap cover to stop the cold air blowing in. We fit at night and sometimes in the day. Works well to me insulated the cat flap from cold draft.
    Made from 12mm mdf 250mm x 250mm
Four 30mm x 12mm wood strips glued on and all painted satin white.
    I mentioned 10mm thick strips but it's actually 12mm.
I guess flap dimensions will be different so adjust sizes to fit yours.
So 12mm plus 12mm plus the 225mm for flap is near enough to the 250mm total width.

Is this a good permanent solution? Unfortunately we are losing our cat soon and my kids need visual reminders of our cat removed when he's gone. Im struggling to find something online to block it.

Yes I guess. Could add blu tack or small blob of silicone to hold it on.
Or get the entire panel replaced. Used to be around £50 to buy one a few years back for DIY. You can trim to size.
Or get one fitted but will cost more.

Hi Wayne - would you consider making and selling me one of these please, if I gave you the dimensions please?

B@Q will cut the front sheet to size or a local timber supplier.
Just need the wood batton which can be bought off the shelf to make the edges.
Glue with wood glue of superglue.
Another option is to make one from cardboard
