Screw Superman haters. He's the most iconic for a reason. He's not boring, read DAMN COMICS or watch animated shows or movies. Also I remember that Mongul fight In Justice League Unlimited(I think)
Name Most Superman versions, and pretty much all canon versions are able to move a Moon.
For Superman, being planetary+ IS moderation. Superman was always a character who masivelly holds back because if he lets lose the planet will feel the consequences of each punch. Thats a pretty big point of his entire character.
"World of carboard"
znjfl And that is bloody idiotic,no super hero should be able to destroy an entire world on a wimp, that power level is too big, some may even say its over a certain number.I think the maximum havoc a super hero should be able to do should be equal to an atomic bomb, anything above that is OP,what I mentioned is also OP but bare in mind that it will take anything the superhero has to offer,it will exhaust and possibly kill him and even then only the heavy lifters(Hulk for Averngers,Superman for Justice Leauge,ect...)of each team should be able to do that.
Name I dont particularly care what you "feel" should be their maximum level. they have been that way in the comics since the Silver Age. Thats how they were always portrayed, thats the versions the fans know and love. Superman is an alien froma super advanced race that is fueled by the freaking Sun. But oh noes, destroying a planet is too much power.
He is fighting entities capable of reproducing Big Bangs.
znjfl You don't have to care what I feel, nor you should use that douchy attitude,we can have a civil argument.
The problem with any hero(not just Superman) is that their amount of power undermines everything other that happens in their world.Batman has a problem with the Joker?Call Superman. That applies to many other heros, villains are allowed to be so strong because they are usually end bosses that require a team to take down but if one of the heros is an end boss that could easily kill the rest of the heros then you got a problem.Heros should be around the same power level, along with most villains, end bosses not included.
Brainiac for example or Darkside are end bosses whille Luthor and Joker are powerful yet normal villains.
znjfl That may be in the comics, where logic can be thrown out of the window but in movies its too much, that's the reason they nerfed Superman in MoS,could you honestly imagine a life action Justice Leauge movie with a Superman that can reverse time?Comics and movies have different rules,i'm applying this arguement the same logic I apply when I watch movies.
I'm glad that moment in All star Superman was no. 1. It was the first time I cried reading a superhero story. A beautiful moment in comics.
TheBatmanNerd you're right that was beatiful

10 more issues of Superman I must own
10 more issues of Superman I must own
That #1 is the reason for anyone to be a superhero.
the number one moment actually made me watery-eyed
Even though he's my 4th favorite superhero of all time (him being behind: 1. Batman, 2. Spider-Man, and 3. Green Lantern Hal Jordan), Superman captures and represents everything that great about being a superhero. Let's not forget everyone, whether you're a DC Comics fan or Marvel Comics fan, you have to understand most superheroes wouldn't exist the way we know them if it weren't for Superman.
TheBlackCube17 so true!
Couldnt have Said it better...
I wish Superman's haters were a little less obnoxious about his powers every once in a while.
It's alright to not like him, but being so ignorant to not even figure out what Superman's character is all about it just dang stupid. Anyway, Superman is my favourite of them all. And that #1 spot was really touching.
I loved his confrontation with the ultra sphinx in all star superman. no punches thrown, just a question answered. man was that series awesome.
What happens when the unstoppable force meets the immovable object
***** They both surrender hehe : )
#1 makes me cry every time, Superman may not be my favorite superhero, but he is the greatest Superhero, and maybe even the greatest fictional character of all time.
Dc should give superman more credit and stop the batman favouritism
You mean like giving him a more credible director?
zack snydes is brilliant ,i mean stop making batman a god a, respect supermam for what he is , the character that put DC on the map
"zack snyder is brilliant"
[citation needed]
I think he's a director that's more committed than most to creating striking images inspired by those you might find in a comic book, but that does not make him brilliant or a genius or a good director.
For me, I find his trailers more compelling or engrossing than his actual movies because they just tease us with some of that visual style he's known for and imply that there's a coherent movie tying all of these scenes together. I ALWAYS want to see more after a Snyder trailer and am almost just as often disappointed with the end product.
I'll watch the Watchmen trailer all day because it's remarkable, but so was the X-men 3 trailer or most of the Transformers trailers. You watch them hoping you're not just seeing the best parts and that the actual movie isn't an excessive and gratuitous mess but it totally is.
if you don't like man of steel you don't deserve an opinion , u are just stupid
DC gave Superman favouritism many decades. It's Batman's turn now, also not only DC is responsible for Batman getting so much attention but the fans too. DC is only delivering what the fans are asking.
All-Star Superman was such a beautiful series!
Best superhero ever created, and always will be
Great list. Especially great choice for number one. Superman is the best.
People hate Superman because he's overpowered, but number 1 was such a good showcase of why superman is awesome. If only Man Of Steel hadn't rid superman of his human compassion by having him destroy an entire city without a thought about the human lives lost
The last one is exactly why I love Superman so much :)
Scrolling through a bunch of the comments here, I can't believe so many of you are missing the point. The number one reason on this list is 100% correct because that is what makes Superman the greatest comic book character of all time.
When all of these arguments about Superman being overpowered and being boring as a result of it pop up, it only shows that you don't actually understand the character and what he represents. That one page they're talking about at the #1 spot on this list is possibly the most powerful page in comics. It's from All Star Superman, issue number 11 I believe. If you haven't read this story, please do before yourself a favor and check it out. It's undoubtedly the greatest Superman story ever told, and one of the best comics of all time.
One of my favorite Superman quotes perfectly sums up what the character is really all about: "I'll always be there. Always. It's not the powers. Not the cape. It's about standing up for justice. For truth. As long as there are people like you out there, I'll be there...always."
Thanks for making such a fantastic list. It's nice to see people who truly understand the character giving him some love.
You´re totally right, Richard.♥♥♥♥♥
Obviously people could never have Supermans powers, but he is the perfect role model for anyone, any age, male or female because of his heart and soul.
no other Superman moment could have topped this #1. the right choice.
3:41 awww❤❤😌 and that's why he's the superman
Great video DC! It's so great to see Superman be shown some love and respect every once in a while.
Number 1 is why I love Superman, and made him more than just a random comic book character too me. I'm so happy to see that I'm not alone in how impactful that moment was
I keep seeing comments about Man of Steel and how Superman destroyed a city. I don't remember that part. I remember Superman saving a city on the brink of destruction from Zod and his crew. Could he save everyone? No. He's just one man with extraordinary powers going against of crew of militants with the same abilities and advanced alien technology. The entire movie displayed Superman NOT being perfect. He just tries his best to do the right thing when he can. He can't control every situation to his liking. Superman dealt with every situation the best way he could and the only way he could at the given time. It was a self discovery movie to begin with. Who he was, where he came from, and what would he eventually become was all piecing together for him throughout the film.
Superb summary, superb
***** Same thought here so I've made a screenshot of the comment to include its author for future reference. Thanks, sdzero.
The problem with the climatic battle in Man of Steel wasn't the moral implications of the characters involved, it was the fact that subtlety and suspense was sacrificed because the filmmakers wanted big expensive disaster porn.
So when two Gods battle in a City, you expect no damage, right? Amazing a lot of people did not complain about the Avengers disaster porn. I would also suggest you read comic books or watch some Superman cartoons and see what happens when beings as powerful as he is rumble in the city. This is all just Superman and DC hatred, nothing more
It's more like Zack Snyder hatred.
My favorite is Kingdom Come, the art is amazing and the story is real good.
Definitely all epic moments IMO. One thing I wished they could consider was the earlier Smallville scenes in Birthright or Superman One... because part of what makes his story so epic are the conflicts and questions of his maturation. The "Who am I? Where am I from?", "Where is my place in the world?" and the "Will they ever accept me?"
The Doomsday battle is my favorite, but you picked some favorites of mine that made it a hard choice.
Great post. Thanks
No problem!
after hearing #1, i just wanna say, and that's why he's awesome
So glad that DC never forget about supes. Yes superman right now have awesome writer which is Geoff Johns. Batman be jealous please hihi. I love all superheroes :)
geoff johns sucks
James Harrison haters gonna hate. Good job Geoff Johns because making Batman useless in Forever Evil and makes Lex Luthor badass. For those batman fans, Batman is not the face of DC anymore when Geoff Johns in charge of Justice League comics ;)
afifi hasan geoff Johns doesn't know how to write intelligent characters
James Harrison I like Batman but Batman has become the posterboy for DC for how many years now and Batman is Over Rated and Over Power. It is so good and fresh to see Batman dumb down a little bit and Batman just human not a god. Give other DC characters a spotlight and shine. It is awesome moment to see Aquaman kick Batman ass in Throne of Atlantis and Lex Luthor beat Batman in Forever Evil. Hopefully soon we get to see Plastic Man beat Batman or even Blue Beetle beat Batman :)
afifi hasan its horrible writing having the most skilled and trained character in hand to hand combat losing to a non fighter type.
Geoff Johns sucks he can't even write other characters right
Number one definetly agree =).
Superman FTW!
Number 1 is the precise reason why I love Superman.
How can you possibly hate someone who shows such selflessness and kindness towards others?
#1 - I hope there's a moment like this in BvS.
when supermans dad died was an amazing moment and really heart breaking. moves faster then almost anyone on the planet gets to his dad in time to hold him as he dies in his arms.
Superman will always be my hero
It's all about the simple things.
for the man who has everything was the best superman story
i really want to see the #1 moment in the DCEU
Caleb Witts You and me both
Caleb Witts Ur not alone
Great list and absolutely YES on your #1! It has been the background on my Facebook page since I opened my account and I never intend to change it! I agree that it is the quintessential Superman moment! Thank you Morrison & Quitely!
All-star Superman is the best story ever. Number 1 proves it.
man this video made my eyes water, Clark is the best of us. ugh that last one really got me haha gonna go cry now
Supes may not be real but he's one of the greatest role models you could ever have.
Excited for Man of Steel 2 and Justice League!!
Zack Snyder should see this especialy the number 1
If your comment is this high up, that probably means that DC agrees with you about Zack.
Superman saved me yesterday. Thanks Sups.
Sucks that these are just fictional heroes :(
Fuck you
Aquila Laurindi it was a complement, but ok? Lmao
Still, real people created them. To me, that counts for something.
All heroes are fictional, every so called hero in real life is nothing in comparison to fictional ones.
Buzz Aldrin is called a Hero for stepping onto the moon.
Dale Earnhardt is a Hero for driving really fast in a circle.
Baseball players like...
Babe Ruth is a Hero/Legend but was also cheated on his wife, took drugs, and didn't give a shit about it. Yet he still is the greatest Baseball player to ever live.
Nolan Ryan for pitching a really, really fast, fastball. But Ryan rocks!!!
Barry Bonds broke 2 all time records all with the help of Steroids....next
Our Veterans who come home from war, I don't wanna say anything bad about them, but being called a Hero for killing another man in a country where we do not belong in is not right or justified. I still respect them for all they do, but we cannot call them Heroes.
CavemanJesus4Life I understand what you mean man. I'm just saying that... maybe the world would be a better place if we had heroes like Superman and the Justice League. We wouldn't have to worry about the government becoming corrupt or anything because we would have heroes like them to keep them in line. And their are people out there who actually care about this world but the media never says anything about them. The only thing they talk about are all these bullshit ass celebrities who obviously don't give a damn about anyone but themselves. Which sucks because children and adults alike look up to those kind of people.
#1. FEEEEEELS!!! Great list.
Thank you for that #1 pick! All-Star Superman #10 is one of the greatest single issues of any comic ever published and is the only comic to ever make me cry (and boy-howdy did I bawl) thanks to that part!
wish they could of made a honorable mention of action comics issue 775 or whats so funny about truth justice and the American way
Great clip DC Access. Look forward to reading All Star Superman.
Do it. You'll love it.
ajk970 damn right.
I will admit that the Number 1 scene from AllStar Superman, has to be one of my favorite panels in any Superman book. It kind of made me shed a small later.
I always come back to this video and get teary-eyed at the end. I love Superman and this was a great compilation, thank you. ❤
Perfect choice for the #1 moment! I was hoping it would be this one.
That right there is why he's the best of all superheroes
Superman is Awsome!!!
They said it ''SUPERMAN
the GREATEST SUPERHERO of them ALL'' ; )
Hmmm. Nothing from what's so funny about Truth, Justice and the American Way?
This list is perfect
too bad they don't use any of this in the movies.
He's my favorite
Lois helicopter rescue to the John Williams score in Superman 1978... I still get teary eyed every time I see it... probably my favorite super-hero moment period... Superman is incomplete without that music and Christoper Reeve is THE face of supes
YESS!! just came from rereading infinite crisis and soo glad that scene made the list, nothing like earth 2 and new earth supes giving prime a long deserved beatdown :) DCAA keep doing this for other heroes too!
I loved this video! More Superman-centric stuff please!!
And for some reason everyone likes batman?
Dark knight trilogy is the reason, before that Batman was an average comic book superhero, he had fans, but not that damn high and idiotic. Now they are like "because he is batman"
*****
I think the animated series had more to do with it than the Nolan movies
ranwolf76 I think more recently the TDK trilogy boosted his fan base. That show was magnificent but most people would probably address Nolan movies over the show unless they were aware of the show to begin with.
Minetic perhaps. I just like messing with Batman fanboys by giving them information that significantly deflates their "messiah". Like the times he has straight up murdered people(he once lynched a guy with the batplane), caused world wide casualties(Brother Eye), or admitted on numerous occasions that he can't beat certain characters(the topic of the video being just one)
I'm with you on that! I always find it funny how the crazed bat fans state Batman can beat anyone and he's just a mere human but if Superman beats someone he's overpowered with too many abilities. Batman has the most overpowered ability of all... Plot armor. He's like that kid you're playing in rock paper scissors and he say's oh asteroid because it beats everything
👏👏👏👏👏 Mate, this guy is truly an Icon. That last one really does sum's up what he really is. Superman is a beast👊👊👊👊
Superman is so awesome and iconic he's my second favorite superhero for many reasons of course batman is my number one
***** because I have to pay attention to other awesome superheroes like Flash
Superman is the most powerful, most caring, most incredibly awesome character of all. He stands for hope. When you wear his symbol, you feel invulnerable. Feel like you can fly.
The Number #1 moment is everything.
Remember in "Identity Crisis" when Superman is seen hearing (and ignoring) everything the Justice League did with the supervillains? Great moment that shows the "man" aspect of Clark!
All-star Superman was amazing. I love at the end when Clark visited that children hospital and those Kryptonians from Kandor cured those children.
Superman is the powerful superhero ever nuff said
Dr. Manhattan is more powerful.
So is Martian Manhunter
He may not be mine or everyone else's favorite superhero ever but he is greatest of them all for who he is.
I knew that moment would be number one. It's my favourite moment too
And the anime fanboys say Goku can beat Superman😏 (not a chance)
+Aang Revan
I feel your pain.
+Aang Revan it's worse being a goku fan now since they call you a weeaboo
+Aang Revan but dragon ball series is so boring.. Original dragonball was nice
+Aang Revan try being both..
+Yuuki Terumi Yeah, being a Goku fan is hard while your around Goku fanboys
The last one was actually a little bit surprising, in a good way. =) Nice video!
I think that the best superman moment is when he kill the Joker in Injustice - Gods Among Us... but that just me :3
Superman is a timeless Superhero, he might be the strongest guy, but he is also the most good of them all.
#1 should have been when he talked down the jumper in Grounded, but All Star is good too
*"Evil"* Bulldozer, lol that's a first.
we should have had something like a top 10 superman feats of strength for this one
The supermen and superboy situation is a bit complicated. Superboys powers fizzle and recharge within seconds of gaining and losing contact with the sun. Thus he stole a suit of solar amour to gather solar energy for him while he fought. But as a benefit to his unique solar absorbtion ability, red solar light doesn't affect him at all. When the supermen dunked superboy, the red sun drained the supermens powers and destroyed superboys armour. They crash landed on a nearby planet and without his armour to gather energy for him and with no yellow sunlight shinin down on him, his powers quickly fizzled out as well.
I would have liked to have seen Alan Moore's "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow" on the list BUT I really liked the content here. :) WELL DONE.
The greatest superhero of them all, EXCLUDING The Batman character, of course. Superman defeating Luthor in Public Enemies, is up there for me.
Superb!
I loved that final fight scene with superboy prime, i can't believe it took 2 supermen to beat him!
Great video guys! :-)
This was epic.
YEAH SUPERMAN!
There are so many great Superman moments that, really, while a lot of these were good... I don't think any of them would've made my list personally. I'd probably have him defeating Earth Man in Superman and the Legion of Superheroes somewhere there.
Yup, that was an amazing moment you picked for number one.
Number 1 was a great pick!!
Superman is the greatest
I really liked Injustice, it showcased that even superman can become a deranged violent dictator if he's driven over the edge, and shows that he's not as incorruptible as we may think.
Yes!!!
My favorite Superman's moment: The finale of All-Star Superman, where Superman sacrifices to save the Sun.
I think Man Who Has Everything should be number 1
All of superman moments are super because he is superman
💎💐😊🗽💖👍👌🙏😍
I would like to see a top ten of the animated moments
The Dan Turpin's Funeral is one of my favorite moments of that cartoon
the Embodiment of peace, freedom, truth, justice, of all goddamn times
do a top ten batman moments ,
love the video
Okay. I'll be honest. That last one made me cry.
FOR ALL OF YOU SUPERMAN HATERS. AND ESPECIALLY THE ONES WHO THINK BATMAN IS BETTER THAN SUPERMAN. The beginning of the video serves as testament that Superman is better than Batman. DC said it themselves...
last moment is the best moment, thanks dc
