When it comes to the idea of rivalry themes in dlcs, in SoC trailers it was kinda there, then in the game it was fuck all
I'm just so tired of feeling like TW:W has been under produced because they have other pet projects to make that they think will make them more money. Pharaoh was a disaster and their "mysterious" next game is undoubtedly taking funds that should have been put towards quality DLC and faction updates. This shit has been going on since the 2nd game and it's so fucking annoying.
I am surprised you didnt mention Hyenas. That was objectively *THE WORST* decision CA has *EVER MADE* , period.
i think the pharaoh team was entirely separate from WH? i might be wrong.
the WH team was slashed to go make hyeneas, and then all fired and the game was canned. like WTF they could have put them back on WH or something...
I can't remember 100% of everything but either way they have massively appropriated funds away from TW:WH which has been in dire need of dev TLC. Imagine a world where they instead of making the realms of chaos campaign they instead just did Immortal empires to start with. They'd be at least a half a year ahead of what we have now.
Making another Total War game was not the problem, they do it all the time and makes sense, the problem was Hyena which basically devoured the whole budget and took away skilled developers from the Total War series to make a failed from the start game called Hyena.
I would have rather the team that made Pharaoh worked on pumping out race updates and more DLC for TW:W. They would have made more money than trying to sell a blatant Troy DLC as a full game. Not saying that Hyena didn't sap massive amounts of funds but it's not the only mess up the company has done.
I completely agree with the mechanics stuff, reworks are by far the most important bit to a DLC for me. You're 100% right; this is what we spend 90% of playtime engaging with.
Having two lord packs with more refinement for a cheaper price would be so much better than three lords with lower quality content.
Hopefully Thrones of Decay proves that three lords can work with all the new units, mechanics, and whatnot, and the DLC becomes successful.
Yeah i m mainly interested in kislev tho. Paying for 2 factions im unlikely to play is rather meh.
3 lords + FLC lord + 3 legendary heroes + more units for each faction than a WH2 DLC.
Let's not undersell the deal just to get likes from doomers and rats who just want to see the franchise burn
this dlc really needs to be a banger all of those 3 fractions need serious help and i hope it wont follow SoC rework = more units, papa nurgle, dawi and empire needs much more than that
it was already the case for shadow of change. cathay was the only somewhat good faction and now, for some reason, they're the only ones who got an actual mini-rework. kairos campaign is still hell on earth, same for both katarin and konstanltyn. don't get your hopes to highs...
Don't get your hopes up. The problem is not so much can CA deliver, I believe they can when they try. The problem is they have to rework empire and dwarves, two popular races that have really weak mechanics, on top of WH3 itself being worse compared to WH2. And since the definition of rework the race at CA still seems to be add more units... don't get your hopes up.
I have almost 3k hours logged in WH2 and almost 800 hours in WH3. WH3 is *not* worse than WH2 and hasn't been since at least when Champions of Chaos dropped, if not earlier. Dark Elves are the only exception.
@@SleepyFenDon't know if I can agree. It almost feels like a chore to play it, while WH2 felt like fun even at the end. I have 4k in wh2 and 2k in WH3...it's just not as fun and with that basis no number of new units is gonna fix the core problem. Maybe I'm just tired of it :)
@@SleepyFendark elves arent worse they just arent stupid east overpowered
@@wasifabdullah2997 they're absolutely worse because their mechanic wasn't just nerfed - it was replaced with something less exciting.
new to your channel and know practically nothing about warhammer, but I have to say its very refreshing to hear your passion for the game and wanting it to do good. WHILE at the same time holding the devs to a high standard and not just taking their shit and smile when they give it to you. Good stuff man
i agree with you about buying only the lords/factions you want
It breaks my heart how they have run this franchise into the ground since the glory days of Warhammer 2. If you'd told me then that it would have fallen so far so fast I'd have laughed at you.
Crone was dope
her starting position is just unattractive making people not want to play her
I do miss the rivalry from the warhammer 2 dlc
I want to add to the whole inflation discussion by saying:
It's not my job to fucking care about inflation if consumer wages aren't rising to meet it. I am a consumer, if I don't have more money it could cost you 300x as much to make and I would not give a lick of shit. If you want me to spend more for the same amount of stuff, I am only on board if I have more spare money to spend
If a thing would cost 300x more to make no company can make things and get profit, so they won't make it. I agree it is not our job to care, but I do have some sympathy for company that says "we must raise prices or doing this won't be profitable"
@masaheimoi That'd be true in a vacuum but as it's a question of maintaining hyper-profits it falls into "I could not care less". Because they are still making quite a lot of profit, they just aren't making as much profit as they would like. The various changes in pricing and employment policies here are just Finance Bros not being kept in check
@masaheimoi But yes, for some companies I absolutely would; you aren't wrong and I don't want to insinuate that you are. But those companies also give you reasons to care; be it a persistent record of high quality products, good care job security and compensation for employees, being a smaller team with a very strong showing, etc... I care about those things. I am willing to spend more for those things.
@@seangrant8871 In your example of "it could cost 300x more to make", no company will make profit.
@masaheimoi Ok yes but that was obvious hyperbole.
The price was not the real issue for me. Reworks was the one thing that I was most looking forward to the most and it was the one thing they refused to even to talk about much less deliver. I'm so sick of CA, the game is all over the place when it comes to design quality, just look at Lizardmen, Norsca, Ogres etc,and compare them to well designed factions. They should have been reworked ages ago. Then we also have all the bugs and issues the game is riddled with. It's a fun game but its objectively a shit game too when the aforementioned stuff is taken in to account.
I don't even have it installed anymore because everytime I wanted to play I was always immediately reminded of all the issues and it's litteraly sucks away any will to play. No matter how good this DLC is I wont play it even if it was free this game needs fixes not new stuff. Unfortunately CA has been neglecting the game for so long while piling new stuff on top that I dont think it's even possible for them to actually start making real fixes anymore. It's a damn shame because this game has such huge potential but instead of trying to reach it CA milked the goodwill of the fanbase with DLC. It's more fun to watch streamers play the game than actually playing it yourself. CA really dropped the ball here, several miles off the court even...
i think the idea of the price split is fair, it gives people more options on what they do or dont want to buy into. that said a $23 DLC isnt much to go in on.
Hey brother, keep up the good work. Appreciate you , yes-yes
I actually like the idea of buying the 3 lord pack- dlc separately. Especially if they put it in for Shadow's of Change. I just asume they will not be doing those 3 part dlc anymore. Single or double Lord packs are the way to go.
Not popular, but I think a DLC with 3 units instead of 5 would be fine if we got new maps. Every Skaven siege being Skavenblight causes boredom and fatigue, not excitement. Ind and Khuresh also need to be opened. We finally got the big map, but it feels 25% empty
I do really like the Chaos Dwarfs trailer and dlc tho but that's it
I can get the content for one race for 9 euroes when I used to be able to get content for two races for just 10 euros. They are insane at CA. 50% less content yet only 10% cheaper ? In what world ? And the "bundle" is still overpriced, dividing it like that doesn't changes nothing...
They better go back to the Warhammer 1/2 style lord packs or reduce the price of this ones to 15 euroes or else Warhammer 3 is doomed. CA needs to learn "Now you get stabbed instead of shot" is not a good deal, I don't want to get shot nor stabbed. And if they refuse to learn then Sega dissolving it will be for the better.
So expensive , individually or together...
but my will a pizza for £30
@@PzPewwi my pizza dont have bugs , doesnt cost that and was not 15€ two years ago with better recipe

Does anyone else notice/hear a background 2nd voice randomly throughout the video? Almost like a echo
all i can say. Is you know your gettiing ripped. When a single dlc costs half as much of base game😂😂😂
Stinky Damneders is back!!
I only want the nurgle part of the DLC but i can get past DLC with 2 lords for the price i will pay for 1. As good as the ability to pick and choose what you actually want. The price is so bad for 1 lord
£20 for a DLC is insane for me when its for 2 or 3 new lords with limited new mechanics, especially with games like Helldivers 2 being only £10 more, it just doesn't seem worth it.
Its 3 lords and 1 flc lord
Well valorent weapon skin of champion skin in league of legend are 20€
think about what you spend 20 on, like on a daily basis, and match that with game time with all the new stuff
@@savros321facts 20 dollars are good for what we are promised I’d rather spend 20 bucks on this then on a dumb cosmetic.
@@ogretyrant8531 i dont see this as cosmetics, they sound like they have a bunch of stuff in line for the 3 factions which is nice. looking forward to it next week
Just use a DLC unlocker. I stopped buying dlc since they started getting greedy and still enjoying the dlcs :D
Ghark Ironskin waiting room.
I expect him to come in a DLC w Norsca. Both have 2 lords and were FLC preorder. Hope Bragg the Gutsman is his LH 🤞
There's a mod for him in the meantime.
I think it's out of date / needs to be updated :(@@Scriptures_K
Steam sales are the way to go with dlcs here I think 😊
So its really hard for me to judge a value of dlc because video games are one or the most cost effective methods of entertainment that exist. You can get 40-60 hours of gameplay out of a 60$ game easily with most single player games let alone games with replayability where your cost per hour can get down to like 25¢... But it gets a bit murky with dlc because its not a base game and requires purchasing a game inorder to play it and also the amount of new content generally is much lower and relies on the base game as the primary method of entertainment rather than the dlc bringing anything new. What I mean by this is that something like a new hero in league of legends is just a single new hero and the entertainment you get out of it is through playing the base game rather than something like the dlc for something like the witcher that ads new stories or games that add new game modes or features. With the Total war DLC I tend to look at it as do 3 of these DLC bring as much content as the base game itself and with this game in particular the answer is no... I would much rather have dlc added to a game and be able to play that game for 3-5 years rather than getting a new game every year like Call of duty but everything just gets murky with the trade offs especially like with what he said with the dlcs taking so long it allows you to get bored and to stop playing the game and then will have a few weeks of enjoyment when it first comes out.. Idk as long as we dont get season passes and loot boxes I think we will be okay.
How are so many people defending the price tags in the comments? Do you enjoy being robbed?
They have the money
And they Love it
At this point id go back and play if they add new achivements. Its been years i need something to work on, be it legendary, different playstyles, challenges. Frankly even if they just add checkmarklist for completed legendary campaigns id probly have a look. Give me a reason to play something other then ikit,snikch,thorgrim,grom.karl.
I made a video 7 months ago complaining about how annoying it is that I have to buy DLC for factions I don't care about. I could not be any happier in the changes. Now I can just get the Dwarf DLC since I don't care about the Empire or Nurgle
definitely mechanics over units.
Well i guess i should just CreamAPI the DLC then. That oughta teach CA a lesson. Kekw
Daniel, I know it's you, stop hatin' your Gods.
@@solareclipse9379 i will stop hating them once they stopped worshipping Khorne! I will keep my Lustria safe
Oh wow so stronk
Just do what i do and wait for a sale. Simple really.
That what I do
That's a patch, it doesn't solve the issue or the structural problems with the business model that created it.
Even if you get it in a discount it's the same discount for previous dlc, Wich means it's still will be more expensive than the others and that doesn't fix the fact the the game is buggy as hell, literally the prologue campaign broke for me and I started playing th3 four months ago
@@Matiargentino100 That sucks for the prologue broke I was able to play through it all about eight months ago I wonder if one of their stupid updates made a mess up
Im almost sorry to not be complaining with everyone, BUT IM SO FUCKING EXCITED FOR THIS DLC
its almost $40 CAD all together and $12 buckets per lord. Not worth it.
What are you on about?
How is splitting up the dlc "scummy"?
Yeah, it is made to max revenue (obviously), but it also allows players that don't want certain parts of the dlc to opt out.
Yeah, for CA 8£ > 0£
But for a player, 1 new lord > 0 new Lords.
I really don't get what you are talking about. It is far more scummy to force someone to buy dlc that includes a bunch of content they don't care for.
I also play other games where an entire expansion pack with tons of extra stuff to do, new story, new mechanics and characters, costs $25. granted, these are RPGs, but the point still stands. it's an entire addition to the game. not just a few new polygons to an existing game. hell, the new final fantasy 14 expansion is only $40 and that is basically a new game as far as content goes. granted that comes with a subscription fee, but the subscription fee comes with constant updates and new content outside of the main story. anyways, all these other games are doing so much more than these Warhammer DLCs. unless they're learning how to destroy their games from Blizzard.
you lost me on subscription fee
I dont think £20 is expensive for three new lords + new units + mechanic reworks IF its a good DLC. Personally, I think this consensus that CA are 'milking' their fans is getting a little old. Its a business that needs to make money. They arent doing this for fun.
Oh my god I found a based take in the comments. The same people that have spent $20 on skins in other games won’t commit to $20 for new content in a game that they have probably played for years and spent hundreds of hours in.
@codyestes6596 yeh, its getting a little wild now. I fully understand the community backlash when CA went noticeably downhill pursuing stupid side projects and being outright rude to the community, but at this point they seem to be trying harder. I think the negative feedback will continue, as I personally think TWWH3 doesn't have much left to offer in terms of offering exciting content that fans think is worth the price.
Why isnt a video gaming company making video games for fun?? What the fuck is wrong with you all bruh 💀🤣
4 lords if you count the FLC - which is paid for indirectly by DLC sales
Yes. You say it right "if". But it wasnt. And it is a different thing to have better dlc in the past for cheaper price. It is hard to make the new price reasonable, but they fucked it up.
I think it’s too soon to judge. We need to see more of what this DLC has in terms of content. If it’s worth the price then no problem.
We need maps more than units, every skaven siege being Skavenblight causes fatigue not excitement. I like the changes to sieges WH3 > WH2 imo, so much better. Also Ind and Khuresh NEED to be opened, the map feels 25% empty. Hope this game gets at least 4 more yrs (12 DLC)
Disagree with a bunch of stuff, but three things mostly.
Three lord packs can be good sometimes, storywise. Not every story is a rivalry, and sooner or later they will run out of rivalries.
Then saying that individual lords price is scummy. My dude it's a business, would you call raising the price of most games to $70 scummy. It feels instead like you are trying to milk CA as much as you can, and as cheaply as you can. It's qlmost like you want them to go out of business.
I understand and mostly agree with the prices need to go down a bit(especially the full pack price), but not to WH2 pricing.
Then finally a lot of DLC's for games are around the same price, as Shadows of Change/Throne of Decay.
Heck if league can get away with a 200$ skin, 25$ for new lords is amazing.
@@2009VandAfacts
@@2009VandA leageu has a $200 skin??? well, riot is scum so... not surprised
I don't know man... I don't think I need to learn anything. I bought the last dlc preorder, played it, enjoyed the two lords who had to play and gave the changeling a shake. I think I got at least 30+ hours from that. If I would go watch movies for that duration in theather, I would pay 150€. Under 1€ for an hour is not that bad and I will most likely still go and play again with that dlc so the cost for an hour will shrink. You do you, but not everyone thinks like you and the side I am on is more silent in this situation because we don't have a problem.
I never understand people who want to pay more for a defective product, especially in games
@@mistrzswat6973 Well isn't that based on opinion? I have enjoyed every dlc on launch. The worst on launch related to this trilogy is the launch of twwh3 itself and even that I played more than enough to make it worth before the Immortal Empires launched. I neither understand people who want to pay for actually defective products, but these ain't those. You go buy 20 dollar skins or 10 pulls or whatever you enjoy. I'll take my 0,4€/hour enjoyment thank you very much.
😢😮😢😮😢😮😢😮😢😮
I'm still enjoying WH2. WH3 doesn't hold any appeal for me. CA needs to up their game.
I pirate all these dlcs, but I'll probably buy the Nurgle portion of thrones of decay
Most fkd up thing here is that you're just paying for a license. The files are always downloaded.
I think the thing that shits me the most is that teams aren't complete without DLC.
If you haven't got the DLC you and the AI shouldn't be able to use DLC units and researchers in the tech tree that are for those units should not be present
Personally I feel that if I only played the game to make videos on it then there is no amount of DLC no matter the quality that would be worth it. Move on it will be better for your mental health.
Its a ridiculous totally unjustified price tag no matter what reddit based gremlins say .....
Giving you the option to buy just the bits you want is "scummy"?
You are officially impossible to please.
I prefer expansions vs “micro” transaction dlc. So I disagree with your purchasing recommendation.
Honestly think you're just being cheap at this point. When you compare the hours you'd get out of the DLC content, compared with what you'd spend on a cinema ticket or a night out drinking, you realise the actual value proposition.
I'm not saying it's not more expensive than it used to be, but we get more for our money than we used to, and games are more expensive to produce now than they were in 2017. Ultimately I'd prefer the DLC to be more expensive than for the base game price to go up as significantly as it probably could.
Also, calling them scummy for giving people more options for purchasing just the content they want is a ludicrous take
If you don't want to pay for new content, and don't even now like the game series you've built your entire channel on, then just move on my guy, because all you seem to do is moan about it and you'll probably be happier
just go get a mod with a new faction. the quality of the units is almost as high, but they have way better mechanics and it's free. dlcs have become overpriced and they don't bring anything new. chorfs were fun but they brought no new mechanics and the SoC was barren in terms of mechanics
The only problem with the chaos Dwarves were the price otherwise they’re one of my favorite factions of all time
@@Jeff13345 its a mashup of preexisting mechanics of other factions with no new ideas. they've improved on them true, but it ends up highlighting how bad and outdated those original mechanics have become
@@andreir1183 That’s one way of looking at it I look at as train with big gun so I have a good time
Don't even like the game you base much of your channel around?
It’s hard to take you seriously after such consistant streak of negativity for views and money. Since SoC came out, you’ve been one of the people raging like a toddler. It was an overpriced DLC, that’s it. Just like you said in this very video, prople can wait a few months for a sale if they want.
Forge of the Chaos Dwarves was great. Champions of Chaos was great. Overall, TWW3 is one of the best strategy games on the market. Is it perfect? No. Is there legitimate criticism to be had? Absolutely. But the apocalyptic attitude that is finally being toned down has just been ridiculous.
