- Nearly ten years ago Blair Douglas went to Louisiana and played Kate Martin's Waltz at Fred's Lounge in Mamou, in the heartland of Cajun music. The sound isn't great but a wonderful event anyway. Hope you like it.

Blair's music has always been able to move me to tears, he's an amazing musician. The width of his ability is astonishing.
....a waltz is a waltz...everywhere...this is brilliant....
Fantastic Blair 👏👏👏🪗
love both styles of music, and this is brilliant, no rehearsals just the chord changes shouted out, live music
Wonderful video. Thank you very much for posting it.
One of the best mucisians ever
amazing how Gaelic music and Cajun fit together
I've been there myself a few times - it's a great place to spend a Saturday morning if you're in Louisiana, or else there's the Saturday morning Cajun music session at Marc Savoy's shop just outside Eunice...
Completely unrehearsed, an amazing day
Fantastic. Must be due a repeat on BBC Alba.
Excellent
real music , musicians who make their instruments sing. As Blair says Scotland needs to return to the good old days that I mind - spontaneous sessions are great . Being too precise and perfect doesn't work but now I'm deaf I can feel the vibrations so its all the same now .
Nice one Uistman59!

Who on earth doesn`t like this ?
Sounds a lot like Cajun music in it's tone and flow ...I wonder if Blair purposely played a Cajun song , or if this was a Scottish song .
This is Blair's own composition, "Kate Martin's Waltz" played Cajun style on this occasion. He had also recorded a bluegrass version of the tune.
How stupid to choose a „thumb down“!!! I can‘t understand it!!! What for???
