- The video of a hedge-fund manager touting his wealth in the backseat of a taxi might as well be a campaign ad for Sen. Elizabeth Warren, CNBC's Jim Cramer says.

He’s billionaire - one of UK’s wealthiest hedge fund manager.
Nothing wrong with this
💪😌
Imagine the same hedge fund guy, in the same cab, with the same attitude, bragging about making $100,000.
There would be no issue then. Therefore it’s a jealousy issue. The news anchors made themselves look bad for judging with jealousy.
Two brand new Cadillac Escalades = $152,390
Two Drivers on $50k a year salaries = $100k
Four security guards on $50k a year salaries = $200k
It only takes $452,390 to look like a billionaire but it takes a billion dollars to actually be one.
REMEMBER THAT!
Basically when you are financially stable. Human being tends to get cocky. My dad wasn't even that rich and he was like this everyday all day. People like this never learn. You have to be humble.
I suspect narcissism has something to do with it.
#Narcissist
🥇 Subjectively purporting yourself to be #1 is bragging. But, the really bad part for Platt is that an objective measure of Platt’s current affluence does not support his claim of being #1 hedge fund manager.
"im the highest earning person in the world of finance"
At first i was like yeah, of course you are. But then i checked his net worth and i was like wtfffff
This has a very inflammatory title and headlines. He’s not even being boastful.
The guy couldn't have been more nice and appeared humble. The world has gone mad. Up is down and down is up.
Actually like him more after the video.
Billionaire in public transportation saying it’s and honor.
Is answering a question honestly rather than lie.
Seems truly happy about what he’s speaking about rather than talking himself up.
This dude just said, "thanks for letting me ride in your cab" and "im the best at what i do" soooo whats the problem here?
something something hate the rich lol
If i could meet this man in person, id be glad to so i can learn his knowledge.
He was just proud of what he's done. He was asked what he does and he answered. If I were the best or among the best in my field I would be proud as well.
This guy seemed very humble, he was nice to his cab driver and he was clearly very happy and full of energy about his funds success. People should be allowed to celebrate their achievements.
All I see is a smart guy who's great at his job. And who's happy about it. And some incredibly entitled and jealous television hosts :)
all sudden i felt im hearing Yoda speaking.... aka Jim Cramer
I love that all the comments are defending this guy. One of my main goals in life is to be financially successful and if I ever get there I will be proud of myself and tell/brag about how I got there. Absolutely nothing wrong with what this guy did and anyone who has negative things to say are just jealous.
Should he have lied about what he does?
Who cares?
Exactly
He Is a Real Billionaire 😊😈💰🍷Mike You Are Not Worthy To Blame This Guy This Billionaire Make Estimated 💲3BILLION A Year Even More 💲🍷❤
How some wealthy white British guy in the back of an Uber would transform Warren’s campaign message trajectory is still a mystery? Buttigieg used a black couple from Kenya and had to apologize later. Let’s see how this would work.
M.S. most people get salty of the rich, that’s a universal sentiment
It’s banter, why are they crying about it 😂
“Everything reflects poorly on Mark Zuckerberg. Everything.” - Cramer in weird Yoda voice
I was looking for this comment!
Dude was having the time of his life. 😎
This dude just had a nice little buzz on and answered the guys questions....yea was it a little braggy sure.......but cmon I’m sure he gave the cabby a nice tip
I came here expecting much worse.
I don't like how the news nowadays takes things out of context in a bid to get more clicks. The guy, in my opinion, is polite, respectful to the driver and he's proud of his well-deserved accomplishments
I dont see a problem, he wasnt arrogant. He was proud of his work so what?
Cramer always sounds like Yoda. “Everything reflects poorly on Mark Zuckerberg. Everything.”
Reflect poorly on Mark Zuckerburg everything does.
Golum with the voice of Yoda.
No problem with what he said. Probably just wants to have a conversation. If you just say "I am in Finance." The conversation is probably over.
There was nothing wrong with what he said? I expected him to say “you’re so poor” “you’ll never live the life I have” etc etc but he didn’t say anything wrong. Everyone’s got a problem nowadays
He was asked a question and proud of his accomplishment, he’s in a taxi I would say he has humility
ya these are the guys you usually never see cause they take private cars, planes, and have others do their shopping and errands for them.
People are just jelous
Yet, this is not humility, W THOR:
🥇 An objective measure of Platt’s net-worth does not support his claim of being the #1 hedge fund manager. (Of course, there are other, and also more subjective ways of claiming to be the #1 hedge fund manager.)
⚠️ In 2020, the year the taxicab video went viral, Michael Platt’s hedge fund had bigger problems than mere boasting: "BlueCrest agreed to pay $170 million to former clients to settle a U.S. regulator’s allegations that it effectively placed its own profits ahead of its customers." - as per Bloomberg article.
😂😂 these guys just hating cause they ain't got hedge fund type of money.the sounded like two very broke people jealous about another mans success.
You know what could be a good campaign ad? Playing a video of someone talking about how they use the media to manupilate stock prices. “What’s important when you are in that hedge fund mode is to not do anything remotely truthful because the truth is so against your view, that it’s important to create a new truth, to develop a fiction.” Something like that.
I'm truly happy for this guy.
1:45 onward Cramer sounds like yoda
The guy was drunk and “feeling himself”
They are mad because Forbes didn't write about them.
1 guy says no humility , the other says what's he doing in a cab. CRAZY REPORTERS.
This man sounds like yoda
I must've missed the part where he gets out and urinates on a homeless person while he tells them he could buy them. Seems like just a normal interaction
I think its ridiculous how people think successful people should have fake humility all the time. Be proud of your accomplishments.
Hey there's nothing wrong with working your butt off and talking about your accomplishments. The taxi driver probably asked him what he does for a living and he was nice enough to respond openly.
"Humility problem" says the guy who used to lie about the market so that his hedge fund could make money
Hmmm he didn’t even say anything just his job title he didn’t even say how much he makes
Well he is Michael Platt... That's kind of all you need to know.
What's wrong with that?
When was the last time you felt “honoured” to get into a cab? That’s right, never. Pleased or grateful, yes, especially when it’s raining but never honoured. He said this in the hope the cab driver would believe he was had humility, because his intention was to let him know how successful he was in his work - and he made a point of repeating it just so that he understood. I doubt he would say that to another wealthy person because he knows he would just look and sound utterly ridiculous. He just revealed how shallow and insecure he is, I doubt the cab driver was overly impressed - unless he left him a $100,000 tip, which isn’t a lot if you’ve got vast wealth.
I don't see anything wrong with what he said. He was excited about his success and the cab driver asked him about it.
It's strange how people talk about all the profits, they've been making through trading of bitcoin, while am here not making any profit at all. Please can Someone put me through on the right path.
Most time having knowledge or insight about a particular activity can as well be a pleasing exercise. I can boldly say that forex and crypto trading is one of the profitable money exchange services that elevates investors and their financial status.
That's true most people today have been having a lot of failures in forex and crypto sector because of poor orientation and bad experts
I have been seeing so many recommendations about olivia tracy on Instagram and telegram trending I think she must be good for people to talk about her
Investing with her made me some interesting amount
I saw the recommendation but I didn't bother chatting her up I keep loosing teally i still don't understand how the forex market works tho
Integrity and honesty are more important than humility.
I think he was pretty chill.
Cramer being a clown as usual: "This is gonna look bad for Mark Zuckerberg" 😂😂😂
Jimmy Chill is the man. You have no idea what you are talking about.
@@ebitdareadthebook1535 yea yea, you probably just found out about him this year calm down its a joke
@@AnthonyDoesCZcams Ive been working in private equity for 12 years. My first memory of him was recommending bear stearns right before they went under. Stick to your meme stocks kid.
everyone in the comments: he's not bragging he's just proud of his achievements!
me: how tf is the taxi driver driving and filming this at the same time
Welcome to new york!
And his achievmet is what? Winning a rigged game?
@@MrCipasa The stock market isn’t rigged
@@turtlelover6934 sure bud
@@MrCipasa it’s your choice if you want to continue being stubborn
lmao the taxi driver and his passenger were better than the 2 clowns in the studio
Sounds like he’s proud of his achievement and he was humble to be in the drivers cab. He was pure class.. sorry
Lol, why are you in a Taxi and not having a personal driver in a Bentley😂
Of course he'll set up a scene of himself in a public taxi cab!
It's a set up so he appears as a regular guy.
THINK!
This looks like a smear campaign lol
And What is the problem with the video?
He looks really proud of his achievements and really wholesome
The fact he is that rich & still takes a taxi speaks for its self. Can't believe they are sayings that because he is rich he shouldn't give the little guy business or should have a "private chauffeur"... Disgusting
News anchor 1: Have you seen...
News anchor 2: yeah
Reporter : There you have it
The Public: There you have what?
The salt is strong from these hosts.
To be fair Michael Platt is a legend.
That inflection right there at 1:52. Nice Yoda impersonation, Cramer.
Well, he's not bragging. He's proud of his achievements.
Proud of him & everything he accomplished! That’s huge!
*Lacks humility
Also Reporter: ugh whys he in a dirty cab and not a rolls royce
I mean he said “it’s an honor to be in your taxi”. And probably tipped him well. If that makes you feel upset you should just stop sharing your opinion in my opinion
Humility problem? Nothing more humble than getting a taxi like the rest of us
Why is so bad ? I told a girl at a party I was a Doctor I specialized in children who had severe burns .
As a "Britisher" myself (phrase not used since the war of independence) this is what we call "pulling your leg" - strange humour perhaps, but not malicious.
We can’t have candid conversations with the cabby, barber, doctor , priest anymore? 😂
Cramer calling out hubris, ain’t that rich
I bet they won't criticize the rich people that owns their news network.
How dare you be successful, sir?! How dare you reap the rewards of your hard work?
So what is the problem? Let’s celebrate success, not punish it.
The dislikes are for CNBC, not the billionaire.
Cramer started to sound like Yoda for a second there💀😂
He’s just proud of what he’s done. Good for that guy.
This guys more humble than I’d be if I was in his shoes
Sounds like the anchors are hating lol. Don’t be jealous it’s a weak emotion and this is coming from a guy with 1 pack of turkey hotdogs in his fridge.
.... uhmmm if we made a billion dollars we would brag too. And that man had respect. Love it keep it up brother.
I was in a cab the other day the driver said " i love my job nobody tell me what to do, Then i said turn left
Cab driver should have said “So you can give me a good tip since you have soo much money
Well there is 2 minute and 14 seconds I will never get back
What the hell am I watching? The guy asked him a question and he answered it.
The guy didnt seem like he boasted but infact i only saw a genuinely happy guy sharing his happiness. He even said it was an honor to be in that cab.
Be careful from people trying to change your perception.
The weird thing is that Platt is telling the truth. He is talking about finance, not other fields.
Michael Edward Platt is a British billionaire hedge fund manager. He is the co-founder and managing director of BlueCrest Capital Management, Europe's third-largest hedge-fund firm which he co-founded in 2000.
When did it become a crime to succeed in America? Society needs to toughen up.
Only people upset is the people that don’t have any money.
Yah, bigger earner than buffet? Buffets dividends are more than this guys total net worth
There’s a lot of truth to what you’re saying:
🏆 An objective measure of Platt’s net-worth does not support his claim of being the #1 hedge fund manager.
Why has this video made the rounds. 🤷🏻♂️ The guy is proud of his achievements and he seems like a generally nice guy. He was asked a question and he answered it honestly.
It is not Warren campaign ad, it is an ad for BlueCrest Capital, I would invest all my money with a humble gentleman like Michael Platt
Am i the only one absolutely certain that Cramer secretly voiced Yoda?
CNBC doesn't like that hedge manager for some reason, so he must be pretty cool
I find Jim Cramer to be far more problematic than this hedge fund manager.
Rich people can’t brag, poor people can whine. Got it.
Oh, the outrage of this guy hedge funding (is that phrase permitted?) without a license!!! Let's out him and cancel him. Interpol, are you listening?
Lol at them projecting that if you’re the richest man you shouldn’t drive cabs and talk to taxi drivers about your life... talk about hubris smh
How can anyone take issue with the way that man conducted himself, wtf?
