I've got that exact Bertucci watch type, bought for the lume case. I can swear by it. Its the only watch I wear when doing serious hiking cos its near indestructible and super accurate. Changing the battery is a breeze too.
If Marc says it's a good affordable watch, then he's gonna be right about those others too.

As someone who popped spring bars twice on my islander full lume flieger on different hikes, I am seriously considering that Bertucci watch. Looks great and very practical
Solid video and thanks for showcasing affordable/cheap watches. Saw another similarly billed video but some of the watches were over 1000 and none under 300, not affordable nor cheap for a lot of people. Thanks again!
I also have that Bertucci glow in the dark watch. I love it, and I bought the Bertucci glow in the dark strap. They're both so cool!

Bertucci, I have the A-3P and it's a tough one, love that raised edge on the crystal, it does work as you say. I got it when I was a mechanic on city buses, I dug out snow, med and dirt from wheelhousings, it's been drenched in antifreeze and soaked in old motoroil and keeps on ticking. It's one tough beater.

I bought the cream dial Red Star from Marc over a year ago. I work at a bank and it gets complements often. I absolutely love that watch. You will too.
As a designer, I loved the Red Star watches but, I have been too brainwashed on the whole anti-China thing and I just don't have enough backbone to defend the watch...but, loved the whole look of the watch.
Aristo is so underrated. I'm glad you give them the occasional spotlight on your channel.

Great list. That AV8 is tempting! I bought the Red Star in the cream dial a little over a year ago from you. I absolutely love that watch. It does not get enough wrist time. Think it goes to work with me tomorrow.

This was a good concept...new to following your channel but I just ordered the Bertucci DX3 from your website. Great value! You have a super broad range of videos....I am very keen on sports watches with black bracelets.....if you ever do a theme like that....I just ordered a Henry Archer with a black bracelet and purple dial. My Bertucci solar titanium isn't in that price range but I've had it for over 8 months now & it's become the only watch I wear. I had my doubts about the strap but it's my most comfortable watch. Marc, you knocked that one out of the park. Thanks.

I bought the Bertucci A-3P Field Watch with Optic White Dial and Thin Red Line Strap #13391, for $95 and it’s one of the most unique pieces I own. Really handy to be honest in my field of work where if any of our machines break, I can still do a rough estimate of a patient’s heart rate and even a BP if necessary with the red 15 second sectors being super handy!

Let's call them inexpensive. Watch technology today is amazing. The engineering of the time pieces of today are unmatched. A Seiko and Casio watch for $150 will outperform a vintage watch every time.
Thanks for the video. Aristo has a very nice chronograph for just about $1,000. which isn't a lot of hay for a Germnan automatic chronograph with a Swiss movement.

I have the same Bertucci. Bought it years ago when they had it on sale. Money well spent. It's one of my favorites especially for outdoor activities. If you are worried about those lugs braking don't it's a might tough watch. My only con on it is the strap, It's hearty, it's beefy but can be annoying when say typing on the computer for a long time.

Worth noting the significance of the poppy on the RBL watch. In the UK we wear poppies on remembrance day (11/11 - armistice day 1918). This was started in 1921 to honour those who fell in WW1 where poppies grew on the ground churned by shelling in no man's land after the fighting stopped... the tradition has since continued to honour those from our military who have made the greatest sacrifice in all conflicts. Millions are worn in Britain on that day every year and this watch is a more permanent statement of remembrance and respect... As is written on our war memorials where the names are listed - "Lest we forget".

I was about to make a similar comment re the poppy. We wear in Canada in Nov to Nov 11 Remembrance Day for same reason. Immortalized in a great poem ‘In Flanders Fields’ by military surgeon Canadian John McCrae.

Hi Marc, very informative and a good selection. Would it be possible to swap out the 7s26 for an NH36a on the snkl23? I'm just thinking those movements are hacking and reasonably priced. I think they're a similar size.
Yes, but not sure about the crown/stem. Might require a new movement ring too.
Aahhh, I suspected it might be more complicated than I thought. I'll have a look into it, as I've seen some mods with a sterile case back and saphire crystal that look really nice (especially with the Uncle Seiko executive). Thanks for the response. Best wishes, Dan

Couldnt get the 23 in australia so i got the 795 and no diff, cept the bracelet. Plus the 795 was cheaper.

Everyone forgets about Wenger. Swiss made and fairly inexpensive. I got a Wenger field watch for $40 from Amazon.

Expense doesn't have to equal desirabilty, my favourite there was the Bertucci.

I have never really seen the point of a bi-directional bezel and a GMT hand you can set, but then only having one 24 hour scale to use.... It just means you can do the same thing in two different ways.
Marc, the symbol on the back 红 is hóng meaning "red". The first two symbols on the front are definitely 中国 zhōngguó Mandarin for China. The next two are hard to see but could be制造 zhìzào which means "made in", which would make sense.
I only speak two languages, English and bad English... so there is that and a grain of rice.
Love that Red Star in red. But 50mm lug to lug is too big for me. 😢

Please stock watches for those who like a slightly smaller case. Seiko has this watch … or close … at 38mm. I always check your site and see really great watches, but they are always too large a presence.

hi, they are all interesting models but they don't fit my personal tastes.. I like a cheap watch.. 2 years ago I bought a watch strongly inspired by the Rolex Submariner, with a Quartz movement.. I paid less than 40 euros around 35 dollars. It's the Addiesdive MY H3 Quarz. It's a high quality watch compared to the asking price. Practically just the bracelet would cost the value of the entire watch, always taken from China, with shipping included. I don't understand how they can do it. offering such a well-made watch at that price... a miracle 😀

The character on the Red Star dial says China (中国) Mechanism (统机）.
I have two SNK's and still regularly wear them.
Many of us, their first automatic is the SNK.

I have been buying watches for decades… I made myself a promise since… Never buy a “ daily “ watch that doesn’t have a sapphire crystal.
All the watches that are still looking almost new have sapphire crystals. All the others look beaten.
That’s why I never buy Seiko anymore. Only the expensive ones with sapphire worth it for the long term.
