Thanks for watching!
This is the ultimate gateway watch, I own the blue one. It was my very first automatic watch that I ever owned. I never sold it I will keep it forever, and I will be buying that bracelet from you sir!!! You are a freaking genius!!!
Same here!
Just a man with a plan!
Is it available anywhere, brand new to buy?
@@n.rajasekharreddy118 brand new ones are available on some sites, but the prices are certainly higher than what they used to be five years ago.
@islandwatch I just purchased this! I can't wait to see it and put it on. The only reason that particular watch isn't on my wrist a lot more was really because of the strap and then finding other 18mm straps that look good on it has proven to be a challenge. I'm very excited about this one! Sometimes and watch collecting, it's the little things that count!!
You're killing me with the ease you dropped that bracelet in!
I spent 30 minutes sweating as I tried to get my sausage fingers to do what I told them for the install of a BRAC-74 on my Duro.
In the end, it was well worth the effort. So I can't complain - but sometimes still do.
That is a sharp looking bracelet for the Seiko. Bravo on matching the hue!
He changed a bracelet with a spring bar faster than I can change a quick-release one.
Yeah i either leave the bracelet or stick on a nylon one, good for summer.
Don’t own the watch but I love that you’re supporting and helping the watch community bring their older collector pieces to a new level. Awesome.
The bracelet you sold me for my Casio Duro improved that watch for me 100 percent! Totally worth the expense. You’re a genius, Marc!
The hits keep coming. It takes a true watch enthusiast to design and produce a bracelet that elevates a watch that is out of production (and price accessible when it was!). 9075 Republic? YES! I have my credit card ready.
Got it!
Yeah, good luck getting that watch for $65 anymore.
Hahaha... no shit. The cheapest one on Ebay right now is a $98 example in excellent condition, from Japan, at $20 shipping. Pre owned. I just got a used Seiko locally for $100. $275 new. Oh... 10yrs old, so it surely needs a service and the shops near me want $200 for a disassembly and oiling. I have watched at least 100 hours of watch repair videos these last three months. I will spend the $200 at Esslinger tools and oils and learn how to do this myself. Still, that bracelet is nice, but yeah, not today.
@@petergreenwald9639you could ask your local shops how much for a movement swap. Should be cheaper even with the new movement. Its a lot less work than disassemble and oil) and if it will accept an NH movement(which are pretty cheap), you get essentially an upgrade and save $
I thought you were talking about the bracelet at first. I was like what the fuck 9 days
Just received mine! The screws holding the links are interesting, the threaded bit is right by the screw head rather than on the end. There's also a swivel section which I assume helps with targeting. Really cool! Less cool is that the first center link has a square edge that juts out when it's on the wrist. That's a little disappointing when Marc's designs are usually incredibly thoughtful but I'll still wear it proudly just because I love the brand so much!
Very nice Marc. My first automatic watch was the SNK809. I still have it. Now I need the bracelet.
Yes you do!
@@islandwatch Same for me. My first automatic. I already purchased my bracelet. Looking forward to receiving it ;)
My bracelet arrived this morning. It lookf and feels great on my SNK803 (which I ordered from you years ago). It's an excellent upgrade for this classic Seiko.
Just out of curiosity, did this particular brand new bracelet make your wrist dirty? Trying to see if I’m really lucky or if it’s everyone. Thanks.
@@dahak972 no, it's been fine. No residue or anything
Thanks, Mark! I just received my bracelet today--sized it perfectly and love it. Looks and feels like a new watch, and I've had my 807 almost ten years.
It's really cool that you are making a bracelet for a watch that's out of production. What's always kept me from buying this generation of 5 was the lack of hacking and hand winding (but maybe I'm wrong about that!)
Although the movement on this one of course doesn't hack or hand wind, there's something really charming about that movement when you're doing the Seiko shuffle and it doesn't take a whole lot and then after a day of wearing it it's basically fully wound. Mine seems to run just as accurately as their next generation of NH 35s
Don't let it stop you, it works fine without that stuff.
You can always swap it for an NH35
I used to not like watches without hacking because I would set my watch to the exact second (ocd) but then I realized that the watch is losing or gaining time each day anyways.
You can adjust time backward to stop or even reverse the second hand. Some call that poor man's hack. For winding you can shake around for a few seconds. These would be nice to have but not necessary.
SARB017 bracelet would be amazing!
I put one of these on a SNK805 (green) model today. The match of the bracelet to the watch case is amazingly good! Completely changes the character of the watch in a cool way. May need to purchase a second one for my SNK807 (blue).
Already ordered. I have the green one and yes, it was my first mechanical watch. I’ve always hated the strap. For $60, this will make it a watch that I’ll wear again. I think you’ve got a winner here!
awesome, thank you.
Marc, that’s not only my first Seiko, but I’m wearing it right now! Blue dial. I have it on brown leather right now, but it’s just not right. The bracelet makes much more sense.
Got mine for about $40 with a discount back in 2015. I still throw it on every now and then for an easy weekend wear. I'll definitely be dressing it up with this bracelet! Nice!
I have all 4 colors. Yes, they were my first dive into nice watches. I will be getting one of these bracelets.
I have just put on my blue Islander Republic and boom, I see the wristwatch check in this video... 😂
I did a “Tug test” last night myself Marc. Like the video. Thanks
I really know few people who put as much passion into what they do as you do.
Thank you so much Mark
I ❤ LIW
I ordered mine as soon as I got the email news they were available! Shipped out yesterday, and I am stoked to receive and put it on!! Now, how about a quality bracelet for the Seiko SNKL23J1! 🙂
Mark, this bracelet is awesome! 🎉 fell in love all over again with my SNK. The only thing I don't like about it is the guilt trip from leaving my PRX in the watch box 😢
Mark, amazing job on the bracelet and the price is unbelievable!!
My bracelet arrived today and it looks incredible! Thanks 😁
That is a SPECTACULAR improvement! Well done Marc.
Ya know don’t need this but damn it’s beautiful! Love my Snk809 (thanks Urban Gentry!) on a NATO but this Really elevates it.
I’m seeing the Snk800 series on Amazon from $175-$219 depending on the color. Amazing. Original MSRP was $185 and I got mine from Mark for $115 a few years ago. Just wild how scarcity breeds value.
I gave mine to my son. The blue one. Might get him this bracelet.
Marc, nice job on the bracelet! It completely changes the look of the watch. Kudos
True, thank you
Marc, you keep coming up with ways for me to spend money. Got this for my SNK803 and it’s a massive upgrade. Now I’m going to have to buy 3 more for my 805, 807 and 809, dammit. 😉
Bought my first automatic, snk809 because of this video. My brac91 is now shipping, though it will take a while. Its great but hopefully, international shipping would be more streamlined in the future for next purchases. Thanks!
That looks great. I love a flieger or field watch on a bracelet.
I'm glad that i have the original bracelet. Looks exactly like this, nice one!
Probably not going to get one because shipping costs and taxes to EU are unfortunate, but damn you did an amazing job with this. Great look.
Fantastic matching job! Please do an oyster for the Squale 1521 blasted!
Yep I own this watch, the beige dial was the first automatic watch I bought myself (not gifted to me). I just need to put it back together, I took the dial and movement out of my ISL-21 and put it in the SNK case. Sadly the hands were too tall and there are the two dimples on the ISL-21 dial that align the chapter ring that I couldn't hide so I just need to reassemble the SNK but if I ever do get around to it I will definitely order this bracelet. PS a blue aventurine Brookville in 38mm would be really cool, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention it! ;)
sorry to hear that, thank you!
Marc, you are the master of marketing and sound business sense. You offer compelling, value for money products while maintaining a warm, generous, and most importantly, genuine persona.
I want to buy a watch from you and have wanted to for more than a year but I am still waiting for juuuuust the right combination of design, features and price.
I sooooo look forward to my first purchase.
Darn the bracelet sure does make the watch look 20X cooler! It is a proper serious tool watch now. Excellent work on matching the finishing, it looks OEM, but better. Im dailying an Explorer II right now but this video made me wanna get the SNK809, for real.
I was one of the people that suggested the Republic with a 9075. I own the Sellita version and what I love about it is that it was a fairly restrained and tasteful dial design despite having everything you need for tracking three time zones. It would be a shame to let that beautiful design go extinct.
Well this video and the bracelet were made for me ❤
I got my SNK809 several years ago from Amazon during a Black Friday sale, only paid $41 for it! I would be interested in buying the bracelet but I passed the watch on to my daughter a couple years ago. This, however, almost makes me want to go buy another one!
Wow, $41!!! Bargain!!!!
@@islandwatch Yep! It sure was! Don't think I'll ever find another one for that price ever again.
Wait WHATT!!!? Islander Republic with 9075 did you say? That is the greatest news 👏
Looks like it tapers, 18mm to 16 perhaps?
Great bracelet regardless. I hope you sell a boatload
Got my SNK809 from you and now the bracelet too. Awesome stuff!
Marc, I ordered this bracelet from your email then saw your video. I ordered the bracelet on Wednesday afternoon and received it this morning.(Saturday) Extremely fast delivery. I was on my way to work so did not install it until after I got home. Wow, what a perfect match. After I removed two links with the included screwdriver it fits perfect and looks outstanding. As normal your products are first rate. Thanks for being a person that is a pleasure to do business with.
How is it? Comfortable?
@@ivanmejia6843 I put the bracelet on after work and wore it for about 5 hours. Yes it was very comfortable.
Did you have to remove the links from the same side
Sorry I can’t remember exactly. But on my 7.25 wrist I normally take two off on each side. I can’t find my links but if it helps I have a total of 13 links on the band.
@@sailit30 thanks for the input ill just have to wait and see
Was waiting for you to release this bracelet! SNK809 has one of the most legible dials out there. Bought this for $80 in 2020. Uncle Straps released a bracelet for this model last year, but disappointed it had hollow endlinks and looks flimsy. This one looks really robust and sturdy.
Thank you!
Thats a brilliant bracelet for that watch.
I gave mine to my nephew. I'll absolutely see if he wants the bracelet though. Great work as usual.
Of course he will! A man of choice
Well done Mark. It matches the watch really well. Although, not for me, I'm really over "O" style bracelets. Boooorrring!
Impressive - was not even in the market for ones of these watches but for the sake of under a couple of hundred quid for that look - take my money 😆
:)
I’ve got 5 of these - can’t wait to add a bracelet (or two) to the collection. I’ve been looking for this for a long time…
Paid around 55 for mine back in the day. Amazing watch, I have a nice double padded leather strap on mine, but this bracelet looks great. Thinking about getting one.
These look awesome! I was fortunate to pick up a SNK805 before the prices went up. So this bracelet cost almost the same price I paid for the watch LOL
This is perfect Mark. I plan on digging this watch out and purchasing the bracelet right away. Thank you!
I purchased the bracelet a few weeks ago. I went to dig out the watch and couldn’t find it. I actually couldn’t find a a bunch of my low cost watches that I hadn’t worn in a long time. I moved about a year ago. We had movers take all of our stuff after we packed it up and transport it to my new home. I actually carried my watch box around in my car but the low cost Seikos and Orients, that I bought from you a long time ago, I had in an unmarked tote. Well I dug out that tote to get the watch and all the boxes were empty. The watches and pillows were removed and boxes were replaced. Suffice it to say, I was robbed. Not a huge monetary loss but I was disappointed I now had a great bracelet for a watch that I could have really enjoyed again. So I bought it again. Paid a little more but the watch and this bracelet combo is well worth the extra cost. Truly a great design, the finishing is a perfect match to the case. I’ve recently started appreciating smaller sized watches, even with a 7.5” wrist and plan on using this as a daily beater. Thanks again!
Enthusiasts will be happy to know there's a new third-party bracelet for the Seiko SNK series! It's a great way to upgrade your watch with added style and comfort.
I put mine (green one) in a bigger Seiko case, new crown, bezel insert and changed the minute and hour hands, and added a chapter ring and gave it a totally new look like a half diver half pilot Seiko.
Love the bracelet. Will be a great upgrade for my seiko snk809. Will the bracelet be back in stock soon?
Mine is a K1, this looks to be a significant improvement, it's now with Double domed sapphire and wearing a milanese looking great. I've got an 803 and an 805 so one of these could serve on all three.
Looks amazing! Will buy it. Hopefully you can have a bracelet made for the Orient Triton (with power reserve) with female endlinks. That should sell like hot cakes since it's a very popular model. The Strapcode version for the Triton is massive due to the male endlinks, and extends the L2L.
Not sure the market is big enough for me with the Triton.
Honestly, bead blasted is my favorite finish.
What a genius idea! Lovely looking quality too. 👍
Shame I don't have the watch but my Laco (36mm !) B Uhr scratches that itch for me. 👍😄
Lovely match, takes the watch to another level.
Looks amazing! On an unrelated note, I bought the watch shown on your Seiko page header image, because... I'm a sucker for good product imaging I suppose.
Just ordered it and I look forward to seeing it on my watch. Looks like a good match in finish and style. I go this great watch for my son when he turned 13 but now he wears another Seiko so I get to wear it sometimes. :-)
AWESOME! I'd LOVE something like this for the SNZG field watch and the Orient defender--I'd buy em both the nano-second they come out!!
Maybe for the SNZG, we shall see.
Looks bad ass. Getting that match on the bead blast is impressive.
Received it yesterday, the big decision was which watch to put it on.
I have all four colors so I went with the black one for now.
It looks great!
Are you going to bring one out for the Range Master Mechanical?
That would look fantastic.
That’s a great price! Thanks Mark
Hey Mark, love it, but I have the Snk809 blasted with Blasted original bracelet 🤔
That's ok.
This was my first automatic. I call it the Train Chaser. It was for a trip around Europe so i wouldn't have to be pulling out my phone to check the time.
Wow, the finish looks amazing! Now you make me want a watch I've never wanted. I have a couple other similar Seiko 5s, but I've never been a big fan of their 7s26 movement and their 18mm and 19mm lug widths which make them look so dainty on my wrist. Most leather straps have a tapper, making them look very feminine.
This bracelet does it!
Marc, you've improved that watch 1000%.
Great job 👍.
Yep, first automatic I ever owned and still have it. Gateway drug for sure!
awesome!
That look’s fantastic! How about a 22mm version for the SNZG15K1 (my first automatic, which I bought from your Amazon store back in 2017)???😁
I like the logo placement. I also think it would be cool if the logo or name was on a part of the clasp that gets hidden when you close the clasp.
Very freakin cool! Well done Marc!
thanks!
I have always been into watches and had a few, but my real gateway drug was my Omega Seamaster Chronograph for my 50th birthday in 2020. That was my first automatic watch 😁
That's a helluva an entry drug!
When were these officially discontinued? Yes, I know NOS can still be bought from the grey market. My guess is that the latest serial numbers on these are from 2021-ish?
I'd say that's a good guess timeframe.
Hi Mark. Please consider making a bracelet for the Seiko SNZG15K1. It also came on a fabric strap. Seiko must have sold a zillion of them..
You are just just amazing Mark ! Thanks for your work !
I always buy watches without bracelets thinking "I hate bracelets", than I see a video like this for a watch I own and go and buy a bracelet 😂
5:11 I bought the bracelet and the last chain link directly at the end link unfortunately sticks out clearly / shows a noticable gap as soon as I wear the watch on my wrist. You can see that clearly on this time code here. I have a similar bracelet from Seiko and there it is much less pronounced or not visible. Could be due to the length of the male chain link. Too short perhaps? I'm keeping the bracelet anyway, as it also matches other watches in my collection, but it's a bit of a shame.
This watch always needed a good bracelet
It sure did
No way!!!! I’ve been waiting for this wooooo
Beautiful job....top notch ! 👍
I just sold my snk809. Sold it to buy the green version snk805 instead 😁 my first watch but i always had a soft spot for the green variant.
Although I have the SNK807, my very first introduction to automatics many years ago, I seldom wear it because of sentimental value, it’s still tempting to go for this since I am a bracelet guy. I wonder if it would fit the 36mm Timex North Solar?, if not, you should consider making one for it, it needs a matching bracelet as much as the SNK800 series.
Looks like the bracelet is already sold out. I hope you make some more - my SNK just arrived.
looks great...just like an OEM piece...
That transforms the watch, Bravo!
anyone happen to know when this bracelet will be back in stock? its out of stock as of today - June 15th, 2024. would really love one for my SNK809!
This one's going on my 803 - ordered!
Excellent match!
Beautiful match
That's a Fantastic Matching Bracelet! Bzzt..
$65? Maybe 5 years ago, that’s the last time I saw one of these well below $100 USED, let alone new. No idea why reviewers continue (this one just a day ago!) to refer to these as “sub-$100 watches” when they have not been that way for some time.
Great bracelet.
But this video is a proper demonstration that the age old method of fitting metal bracelets with spring bars simply makes no sense. Even a pro like Marc struggles a bit not to scratch the case.
I would happily trader unlimited strap/bracelet options for a simple and reliable mechanism to secure bracelets to my watches (think Vacheron Constantin Overseas)
My Seiko 5 SNK809K1 bracelet was wrought out of the finest budget kitchen foil. Watch is decent, especially at the prices of 10 years ago, however the bracelet was/is horrible.
May have to check this replacement braclet out, although to make the most of shipping to the UK, it would be rude not to grab a watch (or two) aswell.
It’s miles better than the strap that it comes with
Sick Mark!
Looks freaking awesome
This was my gateway drug! Came with the awful nylon strap that I replaced with far better options. This metal bracelet is definitely interesting! Bought it a little over a year ago and is my favorite to wear at the gym. Fun fact, it is now going for $209 on Amazon!
Wow, $209! That's nuts.
Shame more field style watches don't have sand blasted finishing.
I have two Citizen promasters. Brushed, its okay but that sand blasted look is so great on a tool watch.
