@@Talariaboysthanks, I plan on using it as a daily commuter in nyc, the pedal kit will def deter nypd and ease my impound anxiety lol. Also lance looked very comfortable riding, I am 5’11 190lbs, I was concerned the x3 would be too small for me. I was going back and forth btwn the x3, goat v3, and the apex predator, but this video sealed the deal for me, thanks guys. /end rant
@@jayowen286 I have the red XXX with no pedals and it is super awesome. If you get it I’m sure you will enjoy it. The seat is not as comfortable as you might expect so if you are going to commute then gradually transition to commuting bc if you just get on and think you can ride long distance then it will be a sad face.
@@GorillaSmokeUSAthanks for the heads up, I’m hoping luna introduces something soon like the luna float seat or luna gator seat, like they do for the sur ron. If not I’ll scour the webs in search of a stop gap, because I agree the stock seat looks very narrow and not very comfy.
Under U.S. federal law, if it has pedals and can be pedaled when off, its a bicycle, no laws apply. But above 30mph you mite have to argue in state court.😂🍻
bikers are so paranoid lol. Been riding 2.5 years and never got pulled over by a cop. I only get stopped by peds curious about my ebike since they never seen one before.

wrong, if the motor kicks in when you are not pedaling ie from a standing start when you press the throttle then it has to be licensed and taxed
Downhill is a different story any regular bike can easily hit 40 down a decent hill other than that 😅

i would definitely try to adapt that sprocket on the pedal side of the gear system. a larger sprocket in the front would achieve a higher pedal speed without messing with the current 48t rear sprocket.
Any chance to see a front sprocket option for the pedal/front sprocket?
Nice that they added the pedal kit option. I say do the Nucular or the Torp TC500! Really would LOVE to see those two controllers compared in a future vid - I'd say a lot of us other Talaria Boys will be looking to pick up one of those options this year.
Toro doesn’t make a version for the XXX and so t be for a while. Nucular video coming soon and then the X-9000 going on next.
Ya I meant the Torp on the Sting R whenever it releases. I think lots of people will be interested to see how it fares against the Nucular since they're both designed to integrate well with the stock bikes and let us unlock the potential of them + provide room to grow into 72V. Still, I'm excited to see the EBMX vid - they make great stuff!
I'd be super clutch if they had like a crank lock or a pedal lock option for when you're riding! that way you can lock your petals in the place and they don't move on you while riding but easy to disengage in case you do have to pedal for a cop
The kaniwabe electronic power pedal kit is a fully functional for the x3

What you need to do is get a bike that looks like wired freedom. Looks like a normal e-bike with the power of these dirt bike e-bikes basically.

What are the chances you guys could do both controllers and provide a comparison? I'm considering getting the nuclear before the battery because it's supposed to get more out of the motor if I'm not mistaken, and so it'll be some time before I spring for the upgraded battery and then when I do it'd be nice to know how much of an increase in performance it will have when eventually upgrading to the x9000

The red color on the Talaria XXX is looking mighty FINE! If I had the money rn, I would def get it as my second bike with the pedal kit. The only unfortunate part is that I live in SoCal currently and SoCal is not so nice to high powered ebikes. Already got away with 2 warnings from the sheriffs about my surron. Once I move out of state, though, I'm def thinking about getting one! I'd hope the pedals don't hit the kickstand while it's down as the kaniwaba pedals on my bike are notorious for ruining my kickstand. Hate for someone else to touch and move my bike around and then all of a sudden they ruin the chain drive for the pedals.
It does hit the kickstand unfortunately, there’s really nothing you can do it’s just always in the way when you have pedals. Thanks for watching man!

What I like about this setup is the red paint doesn’t scream Surron, like the black XXX does. Add the pedals and it almost looks like a fancy Chinese 750. It’s probably pretty effective at flying under the radar.

Yes it will have the same torque and speed as the bike without the pedal kit.

😜 The way I am building my bike - I will have a pedal kit on my ebike, but there would be 2 sprockets on the back. One is small sprocket 1/2x1/8 chain and the other is 219H chain.
And my controller programmed for pedal assistance and variable regen braking. That means, I have a SINGLE SPEED e-bike that can get me home and has enough torque for quick acceleration, going up a hill and offroad!
2 separate drivetrains on the right side of the bike. 96t : 12t for the motor and 16t : 38t for bicycle 🚴♂🚵♂
hey talaria boys, i got the second batch xxx, and i really want to get that dnm rear shock i have the stock one and i need an upgrade, it would be real nice if you guys could tell me how and what exact model of that shock to buy.
Hey man it’s hard to say what the right one would be, it’s also not necessarily a nicer shock it’s just a bit softer. You could email Luna and see if they sell the rear shock but it may not be worth the upgrade price wise. It’s hard to say.
Wonder if upping the regen would allow for a bit more torque for pedaling.

If you cut off the brown wire will it ruin the range or will it keep the same range just make it faster.
Same range if you only ride it the same speed as before you cut it, the faster you ride the less range you get.
Curious if something could work. When you are snipping that brown wire that disables that limiter could you somehow add a toggle swith to go from i guess ill call it slow mode to fast mode and vice versa?
You could do that if you custom wired it yourself

I have the same bike with the luna pedal kit. Was wondering what the extra sprocket was for I thought it went up front. One thing thats annoying with that kit is when you roll the bike backwards say to turn around, the pedals also move. Wish there was a bit more paperwork or information on the pedal kit such as how to convert it back to stock if you wanted. Thanks for the video I've been waiting for someone to post some sort of content around the luna pedal kit.

So there's no freewheel in it when you aren't pedaling so to speak? Or is it only backwards where those pedals move?
@josephgermain2003 it’s only when it’s backwards because of a ever so slight drag. It does freewheel when your riding and have your feet on the pedals.
@josephgermain2003 yes it does free wheel when moving. He's talking about when you wheel the x3 backwards the pedal spin backwards into your kickstand if it's down.

Wish they added a torque sensor and linked it into the controller. Pedaling @25mph is a breeze!!
agreed a working pedal assist system would make these a lot closer to legal, and provide power assist wile pedaling for lower speeds if you don't want to go all out

With the big 3 . Bikes that have 72 volts and 35 ah use the same sprocket like a 13 & 42 and I bet you achieve 60 but a loose in torque

system. He got on my TALARIA MX4 and rode away to test it.
SurRon Guy had discoed the motor killer on left side ONLY.

Hardly any difference, the Sting is just slightly faster but not much

We have been waiting for another Falcon getting sent to us, it’s been shipping for a long time. Also just so you know we are about 3 months out on videos so soon is all relative. We are trying to make them as fast as we can 👍

Why dont you run dual sprockets? The 25 tooth sprocket only on the pedals and the normal 44 tooth on the drive train. I took a huffy mountain bike and mounted a 50cc engine on it and run dual sprockets and dual chains. It can run off the gas motor and still has the stock 16 speed pedal sprockets on it. Itd make a cool video if you can make it work! Btw why dont you get a plate for your sting r so the cops leave you alone? I plated mine.

Cut the pedal shaft down so it's even shorter - ok it won't pedal well at all but that that's not the point- it does pedal so you have that on yr side & both pedals being shorter it's safer for the rider- feet closer together but level 👍

wait , was it me or was it not clear that in top speed race the smaller sprocket was Slower or Faster ?
i'd assume that torquey big sprocket would wind out at top before the the little one . no ?
The small sprocket did have a 3-4 mph higher top speed so around 54-54gps mph but acceleration was slower as you saw.
You do realize putting that small sprocket on the rear will cause you to lose power but gain way to much speed, it will be lucky to climb a hill. You need a bigger sprocket on the pedal end .

Kaniwaba has pedal kits that are far superior to this. Works on the MX4 too they say. These with Peggals are what I want....the pedal pegs that convert. lol
Do an acceleration test while pedaling at the same time.
As soon as you hit the throttle the pedaling becomes obsolete. You can’t pedal fast enough to keep up with the motor. Pedaling won’t increase the acceleration

U should put a 72v chi battery on it and a bac4000
Charged Cycle Works 74v battery coming soon and x-9000 controller. Bac is old news and there’s much better options out now.
Im aways really sad cuz in my country we make 7k dollar a year so for our standarts this bike is really expensive ... for other countries where the monthly paymant is like 4k dollar its easy for them to buy it. Still 3k is really cheap for this bike. Its super cool and really well made. But people forget that 80% of world population get like less then 1000 dollar a monthly paymant for working 26 days from 30. i really hope in the future thre is like 1 currency so we can all enjoy buyng stuff not only Americans and 4 more contries.

Regardless who chooses the pedal conversion kit, All the laws are being enforced for ebikes all across the country every state, then forcing the three classes of e-bike laws, So everyone will have to use a pedal conversion kit eventually all across the country
Like a Traxxas RC. Replace all parts with an upgrade it should have came with out of the box.
This bike really doesn’t need any upgrades we just want to do an insane build for fun! This bike is a blast in stock form though!
