NFT’s, artists if they ask you about that, tell them they can pay for everything! They can and should, pay for the minting of the NFT, and anything else. Then, they’ll probably start to back off. Stand your ground! And say, only serious art buyers! That’s it! No more. Just did that yesterday. Good luck, and stay strong.

Good info. For me, unless I am dealing with someone who has purchased works from me previously, I do not ship until the money is in my account. I never accept cheques in any form.

Scammers are contacting artists on social media claiming to want to purchase art as NFT for a crazy high amount of money -directing the artist to a fake site and then robbing them blind. My advice - don't engage.

Never do NFTs. They will often send you to a website to have the NFT made and then ghost you for payment.

Never consider NFT’s they’re dead now.
    Thanks for your video.

Thank you for this information. I had someone email me wanting to do NFT’s of my artwork and since I didn’t know what an NFT was and my instinct told me this was a scam, I did not continue with the conversion. He was not interested in one particular piece but all my art pieces.

If you want to be sure about any certified check, your banker can help. Every certified check has numbers on it, and your banker can tell if they are actual registration numbers, where and from what bank it was written.
Anytime someone tries this, and you find it it's forged, do tell your banker, so the fraud can be reported.
PS this has happened to me... so I am the wiser now. 😊

Better to just not accept certified checks nowadays … they are too easy to forge

@@timpackerfinearts... you can accept them, but don't deposit until the banker clears it. No need to fear them... just know how to handle them.

What kind of blackened soul targets artists! My contempt!

I guess. Would agree if I was trying to take advantage of artists. But I am “HELPING “ them. And in the current state of affairs they need all the help they can get😊

Artist are no different from ‘ regular’ folk. Except in one respect. They need reassurance. This is where they are vulnerable.

Whatever source of payment, it needs to clear your bank before sending art or doing any service. That is how most business transactions work. Sometimes a credit card will clear within 12 hrs other times not. When you purchase something and later get that email "your item has shipped" That's not what it means. It means your item has been cleared to ship. If it were shipped, they would have provided the tracking #. The tracking # typically comes the following day after the shipped notice when the trans co. actually has the order.

wait for the check to clear then send art ! What I do not get about NFTs ; can someone change a few lines of code and then call it their original ? How the heck would an artist enforce a copyright ?

Another scam is this: they tell you that they are having problems with their credit card/paypal and they are using their employer's paypal account so can't give you the e-mail to send and invoice to but want you to send them your paypal e-mail. They then try to hack your paypal account.

They are resourceful🤨 basically any time the client wants to get you to accept the payment form they want… beware😧

Thanks so much for this information Tim! Just this week I had someone contact me and am trying to be sure he is legit, I'm considering selling the digital rights along with the original. He wants NFT, but I figure if he has the original HE can make the NFT, right?

NFT. nobody’s hardly buying them anymore and anybody that’s trying to buy through it are just looking to take your money through the transaction. so they’re bad.
