    I put one up in a week by myself! I put shade material on a few triangles for ventilation and a little openable flap up top. ( with a hinged stick)also made a template and covered each triangle and stapled plastic on individually with lath strips on each side. I like the idea of wrapping the bottom first but I had to put the top boards on one by one first. It will withstand high winds but be sure to anchor it down. I love your table!

      @TheOleHermit Před 4 lety +6

      Yes, I was thinking of aluminum window screen material over the entire structure to allow airflow and additional strength against the cattle. You're right about needing anchors to hold it down. Unanchored and covered in plastic, it quickly becomes a geodesic kite.🥺

    Hi, I thought I would share this, my family lives on a sustainable farm and we own a goat and sheep. They can clear a land pretty fast, which if you’re bush hogging by hand it’s pretty helpful. Also for your chickens after cutting the grass by hand throw it into the pin and they will love it. I have more fun tips! If you want them!

    • @TheOleHermit
      @TheOleHermit Před 4 lety +4

      They're gonna need much better fencing to contain goats and sheep. They have also planted herbs, vegetables, and trees around the property. If unprotected, the goats and sheep would gobble them down in no time.
      I'm thinking that they need a scythe to cut the grass. On the other hand, apart from clearing an area for planting, what's the point of cutting grass? Oh yeah, because 'the Jones' cut theirs, right? Why do ppl move into the wild, which they claim to love, then destroy that natural beauty with picket fences and manicured lawns?🤔

    • @gufredd9675
      @gufredd9675 Před 4 lety +6

      @@TheOleHermitfor them, it helps with reducing population of snakes and other critters they don't want.

    • @ralaxgaming
      @ralaxgaming Před 4 lety +2

      Would a moveable pin for the goats/sheep be viable? They could move it around to target specific areas without having to redo all the fencing on their land.

    • @suzanneyoung8011
      @suzanneyoung8011 Před 4 lety +4

      @@ralaxgaming I think it would have to be really big and tall enough to keep the goats in, and they would have to move it around constantly, so doubt that would work. Young goats need room to run and play and things to jump up on. If they were not fenced inside a smaller perimeter of the farm, they would be constantly jumping on to their deck and table and perhaps the truck. So depends if they would want that.

    Hi guys im back home got transported to the hospital. It was crazy in there.my bp went berserk, all over the place . They think a scar where they attached a arterie near a valve may babe affecting the valve. Have to watch things like salt caffeine and sugar.
    It is so nice to be back home ,so I can watch my favorite young couple, develop there property.
    Love the green house. May I suggest one thing, never change yourselfs. You have that put a smile one your face attitudes, love it, and thanks for all the smiles ya bring us.

    • @fanfare100
      @fanfare100 Před 4 lety

      scar tissue may cause inflammation. Excessive salt may be exacerbating it. Other factors include stress and level of cardiovascular activity. Good active yoga is a great complement for both the stress as well as cardiovascular and including the destressing. Plus, since stress also increases inflammation that too is tied in because it's all interconnected. .

    I feel like I'm in an episode of "Romper Room" which the baby boomers will get. Each week I have looked for my name at the end of the episode. I joined your patreon about 3 months ago. I remember as a kid sitting in front of the TV as the lady (teacher) would say, "magic mirror, tell me today, did all my friends have fun at play?" and she would start calling off names while looking through the mirror that now is see-through, "I see Suzy and Johnny and Lisa and Joe....etc." I would say, "I'm here, I'm here" but she never called my name. (Kim) lol, really..I'm kidding around, I don't need recognition, it just sparked an old memory. Love you guys and your videos.

    I sat down to watch your new video tonight, was so looking forward to it and before it started, there was an ad where you had to watch the first 5 seconds and the first words of that ad were "This Could Be You" And then your video started and about 5 seconds into it, I thought "This Could Be You", LOL And I wish it was, it's part of what I love about watching your videos - I wish I was starting up a homestead right now, planting and building things, so watching you two living out my dream life brings me great joy. Tonight's video was epic, it had all the wonderful things: smiles, building, weather (my favorite), the synchronicity of the drone and workshop - incredible! And then came the ending with the palmetto bug. Ewwwww!!!! Those damn palmetto bugs. I live in FL. They are my arch enemy and irrational phobia.

But now we have stopped as he gets sick and lethargic and vet thought perhaps Cushing disease? But I’ d rather have him lots long and ignore his beautiful eyes . He eats his food and does a whole lot better with the his routine now. I feel better knowing he feels better!

    Learnt that way back in my youth on the home farm in UK, " when ALL the cows in the SAME field lay down, the rain is on it's way" my Dad told me that, and usually within an hour it rained. Now being a fanatic biker, I still remember his words and when out biking, I see a field of laying cows, I stop to put on my rain gear. It nearly always works.

    I thought of it myself but it existed already since it’s a simple straight forward idea of a light cube structure, a 4*4*15 foot chicken coup or a geodesic dome, made out of light materials and a well insulated integrated closed of area for them to be safe in at night and to lay their eggs. Build with a bit of a side skirt around the bottom closing of gabs with the ground.
    And like a wheel barrow attach simply two wheels on the heavier sided corners and two handles on the light side and just wheel it around.
    Then you can place them on the field or on a piece of harvested vegetable garden for them to eat the leftover plants, dig up the worms, work the soil, eat the local pests etc.
    You’ll have less need to buy food for them and since they’re truly like a small dinosaurs they’ll thrive on the protein they get this way and they’ll produce much more better tasting and much healthier eggs with them eating bugs and plants instead of carbohydrates from GMO corn etc..
    If you get bigger therefore more ferociously capable chickens then you can even feed them dead mice which out and about you can simply catch with a bucket and a little peanut butter and the chickens they’ll love to eat them, they’ll fight over it among themselves.

    I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!! Your relationship makes me smile in every video. I love just to see you interact with each other. There is only one other couple I know like you, and that is Leave Everything And Wander (LEAW). Luca and Sara (who you met before) are now back in Italy and they seem to love each other like you guys. Both of your channels have become the ones I watch for the most. I just started dating a woman who seems to be as kind hearted, gentle, caring, sweet, funny, giving and filled with joy as Kaylee. I am working very hard to be as gentle spirited and even tempered as you, Jordan. You have established a new vision for me about the perfect relationship. Now, all I want is to win the heart of a woman like Kaylee. I am hoping this new girlfriend is the one. If I can find just a half of the love you both share then I will be a happy man. So, I thank you. For me, your channel has not just given me a perspective on van life, travel and now life in Panama on a small homestead. You have changed my life and my whole perspective on the perfect relationship. I thank you with all the humility and gratitude in my heart. God bless you both. I also follow the Italian couple. Their mountain cottage and land is so beautiful. Like the Nomadic Movement, they are very hard workers and very level headed.

    FYI guys: Whenever you stain and seal any wood, always seal the open grain on the cut ends. This is where it sucks the most water. Can't wait to see how sturdy this greenhouse is against the wind. Looks to be massive square footage.

    Smart move. People in coastal Carolina are finally learning round is the way to go. We get a lot of wind here. I think the big problem is developers are still stick in their mindset that a box shape is the way to go. Obviously,there are better ways to mitigate issues like wind.

    Awesome green house! You might need to put up some sort of door screen to keep out little and slithering critters from your home. Just love your locale wisdom: 'When the cows lay down, the rain is coming' ... :)

      Hi! I just looked it up. Seems it is medicinal to humans but it kills goats. So maybe not something they want to grow on their land, but something to buy for themselves. ☺
