Lola is such a wonderful. I love the way she stops at her property line. Climbing the ladder. Makes everything that’s yours hers. I’m losing my dog right now and Lola reminds me so much of his outrageous puppy days.

These times are so much more frustrating for extroverts than us introverts. I am so grateful my husband is still working and every Saturday night he does a Zoom party with a bunch of his cousins. You two are so much fun to watch and are making great progress despite the difficulties getting project supplies. You are truly inspiring!

Covering your smaller, younger plants with cloches (plastic or glass covers) is a quick and easy way to protect them from wind. You can protect taller, more established plants by tying them to stakes or other supports.

Lived the nightmare of wind damage to our carport structures......twice.
I had two carport structures 12'x24' anchored to 2x6s that ran the length of the structures. First windstorm flipped them and shredded the plastic canvas. I replaced the canvas with several 'generations' of lightweight canvas over a period of years. I also added strategically placed pillar blocks on the 2x6s.
Second windstorm (accompanied with a covering of snow) flipped one carport structure and lifted the other one and bounced all over our car
Best of luck with the greenhouse.

Hi guys love your great positive attitude and hard work and wish the very best for you. A simple way to get rid of grass and weeds is to lay down heavy cardboard or place a tarp over the area for several days. A great way to do it is put cardboard down then place about 6” of good compost on top and plant seedlings in the compost. Best of luck and keep up the good work!

Hi y’all from Raleigh North Carolina. I’ve been following your life since before you chose to hunker down in Panama, yet I’ve never commented! Just wanted to say that it is a highlight to my day when I watch one of your videos. The teamwork you two possess is inspiring. I adore you two and wish you a very fruitful garden. Don’t be sad about the seedlings, they will grow again. I’m super stoked to see the greenhouse completed. Stay safe, and sweet to one another. Xo, Monica 🥰

That's Bermuda grass. It loves it when you till it. Plant your plants in the dirt, then put newspaper or cardboard all around them to keep the grass from reaching the surface. Pull them out carefully when they try to grow up around your plants.

I'm almost 67 and none of what you do is in my future but even when I was 30 or 40 years younger I would never have had the inner strength to do what you do. Glad to see you getting a wood shop together. If I might suggest a first big project to do in your workshop- build a proper woodworking workbench. Don't just throw a table together and think that's going to be good enough. A proper workbench is worth it's weight in gold. There's a surprising amount of thought that goes into workbench design to make your life easier. Also, make sure you have plenty of storage room for the lumber you mill up. It has to dry before it's useful. Otherwise anything you build will just warp and crack apart within a year or two. And it takes a long time to air dry lumber under the best of conditions.
On a semi-related note- if you have access to Amazon, why are you so dependent on the hardware store for sundries like screws? Those self tapping ones you bought aren't meant to be used on wood. Get yourself a big bucket of construction screws and you'll be good for a long while.

haha I left the house a few days ago and when I got to the store I couldn't find my face mask. I'd dropped it in my house before I went outside. So I drove 9 minutes home to get it. When I got back I forgot that that store only accepted cash, not credit card, so I drove home again and got cash!! At least I didn't need to stop at an ATM. And then I went back and they had everything for me I paid in cash and told them to keep the 70 cents in covid infected coins. lol I got to the car and couldn't find my phone! Walked back in the store to see if I'd left it there but I didn't remember carrying it in because that just makes the phone another source of cross contamination. Not there. Searched the parking lot and FINALLY found that the phone had fallen under the driver's seat of the car!!! I just had to laugh at the whole comedy of foolishness.

BTW, that was a bull (or steer, couldn't see if he had equipment). Be careful if it is because they can be unpredictable, I speak from experience 😁!

I’ve already watched Tiger King about 2 months ago. Just you wait; it gets more interesting and crazy. I feel your frustration but I also know once you get it done and are using it, you’ll feel better and like it so much more. We in Alaska are starting to get up and running again. We’re very relaxed now on going outside because we’re trusting everyone to do their part for helping one another to stay safe from covid, since we’ve had very little cases and/or deaths. I hope Panama gets there soon too.

You two are such pleasant people. I'm old, but if I had to do it all over again, your adventurous spirit is something I'd strive for! Stay amazing! Peace...

You look so peaceful these days Kaylee. You must be an introvert. How are you managing anxiety and depression during the pandemic? I love keeping up with you two because it seems like you always find a way to turn work into fun and an opportunity to learn about yourselves, each other, and the world around you with an emphasis on practicing kindness. You’re an inspiration 🙏
