KingsIsle has a LOT of explaining to do. Turns out the new Cerberus Pack, which was a combined pack including both the new Cerberus gear AND the Grim Ferryman gear from last year, was rigged so that if you were level 150, you COULD NOT get ANY ferryman gear drops. They neglected to tell anyone this until DAYS later after people had already spent hundreds of dollars trying to get the Ferryman gear on their max level wizards. False advertising seems the kindest way to describe this. KingsIsle needs to fix this asap.

Yeah this 5-10 dollars worth of stuff is not gonna make up for the thousands you raked in.
It's just kind of insulting that they lied at first, and then when they corrected their mistake, they made it seem like it was the players mistake. Even though refunding all crowns used would be a tall order, at least an apology and some sort of compensation should be in order for people who got the pack before the change.

i think you're right, players should be refunded, crowns aren't cheap, i don't believe KI did it intentionally but doesn't matter, Wiz and KI have been shady lately though, lost all m Arena Tickets that i was saving to get a mount until one day noticed they were all gone. taken without any warnings because they changed the tickets up( well no warnings i'm aware of anyways) so there be some shady shenanigans going on with Wiz
Right, I don't think the level 150 ferryman gear not being in the pack was on purpose originally. I think someone made a mistake, but you don't just screw people over and then hide it, even if it was an accident. Everything since has been in really bad taste. They need to apologize, own up, and make it right.

A 13 year old has yet to enter the work force, maybe the rents give an allowance, or the kid has some kind of hustle. On the other end, senior citizens have exited the work force. Either way, gaming is a hobby so, whatever is spent is disposable income. Some people have a lot, some not so much. But, most every one has a limit on what they are willing to spend on Wiz.

@@gen-zisgoofy8304 You really do not get the point at all, the issue here is that they put two packs together so not only we already have a horrible drop rate to begin with now its even worse, they did this knowing they were going to add the grim pack alone, I wasted 150k crowns hoping to get the ferry mount and some other grim pack items on the ceberus pack cause I though they were not going to put the pack out, why mixed two packs together when you can just drop the pack alone like the did the day after, its a greedy crappy move and a slap in the face to all of us that already pay for membership on this game, if you do not see the problem here, then you become the reason why this company does that sht.
What do you think of this issue? What should KingsIsle do to address this? I'm honestly flabbergasted that they thought this was acceptable...
A direct refund of any crowns spent on the cerberus pack is in order. This pack was legitimately a scam, and even today when the two packs WERE removed, you STILL get grim stuff in the cerberus pack. Complete scam. Also from a military lawyer, this is 100% fraud, so you were correct in that assumption

I was pretty confused because on my level 140 I was getting both gear sets and when I opened on my 150 I only got cerberus, atleast I know why now
KI has been wandering from one blunder to another. I don't expect perfection, but they have dropped balls like crazy. Sounds as though a serious house cleaning needs to be done in the company.

Wiz’s idea of being transparent with the fans wait for the hype to die for the new Cerberus pack and then tell everyone “you know that gear you actually wanted wellllll it’s not in here” and then the bigger slap is to then put out the other pack as if nothing happend.

If Wiz was available in a country like China, they would be forced to show the pack drop rates because of their countries laws, I would love to that or more transparency about the rates of items.

This is something I have wanted for so long in Wiz! I have seen it implemented in other games and can't possibly imagine its THAT hard to implement. Having the info in-game would be great, but if they don't want to go through the hassle of coding a new UI and all that, they literally could just put the drop rates on their website. They already have the capability to click a button in-game and link us to their website, so if nothing else, just put a button in the "inspect" menu on the packs that takes us to the drop rates page. It really shouldn't be that hard.
I've always thought the packs are crazy at times. Many games you pull for gear as example..wizard 101 packs, have everything in them. I don't want planting seeds! Seems more Gacha type lately.
Yeah there's way too much junk in packs even when they aren't rigged...
At the end of the day KI can get away with this because people will keep buying. Their fan base enables them to be this way

I think kingsisle has been lacking for a LONG time now. Like, there have been bugs I’ve reported for literally 2 years (or more) that have yet to be fixed! Spell animations have also wildly decreased in quality. It’s just kinda sad ya know? Like look at how the scion spells were handled compared to the level 48 spells. Or heck, even most of the level 100 spells were better than most of the scion spells. Like I’ve been playing this game on and off since before dragonspyre released and it has sucked to watch a company I adored make bad choice after bad choice
Kingsisle needs to stop hiring "friends" and start acquiring people who are actually equipped to handle these type of situations. Working at Kingsisle shouldn't be used as playtime it should be a tool to further someone's career.

I heard about this & if I was online during this time I would have wasted a load of crowns trying to get the gear as well. Luckily I wasn’t but for everybody that did it’s so messed up because they advertised something that wasn’t true. People should demand a refund
.Not to long ago, I was watching an "outsider" review W101 because so many of his subscribers love it and wanted his opinion. Basically, he liked the game --- except for the fizzles, which he found terribly unfair --- and hated the crown shop. Given gardening and other sources, I find the actual crown shop essential optional, but what you brought our attention is more than frustrating, even more than enraging. You are quite right this was very badly handle ---- just like the hack, which, given what was going on in my life at the time ---- I wouldn't have known about it if I hadn't caught your video about it. (More and more, I'm beginning to understand the need to pay for a VPN.) Please, keep vigilant for us. You're doing a good job! Looking forward to the expansion of your content, too!

i wasted 25k crowns trying to get the cerberus mounts but i kept getting spammed with the ferry men mounts. why have the ferry men stuff in the cerberus pack if your gonna release the pack itself later. makes no sense and kinda hurts i wasted that much
Oh yeah,they've done similar bs on the EU servers with the bundles
So on the main wizard101 page they claimed that every bundle included a monthly membership so you would expect to get membership when buying a bundle but nope.They changed that without changing the text on their page,no apologies whatsoever,no membership(only the items)told me to contact the support teamto address the issue(of the remaining text on the page which stated that there was a monthly membership included in the bundles) so they would change the text and I seriously don't know if they did because I didn't spend much time on the main page
Let's not forget they clogged all the old packs with useless housing items so every pack is filled with 4+ housing items. 8k of nightmare pack for fun and I didn't even get a full set of gear from it, not even including the Pegasus mounts. But a whole ton of housing items, just can't imagine a first time spender being excited to open packs and getting only housing items and npcs to fill their dorm room.

This feels illegal. Even if players questioned the drop rate of the ferryman gear KI could have said it was near 0.
But then openly disclosing that it was never possible…. This company is a joke. They have records of who spent crowns on what, and when they did it. They should go back and at least match the Cerberus packs bought and supply an equal amount of grim ferryman packs.
this breaches the fair trading act. so it really is illegal. They are hoping no one sues. Because it is a very viable source to sue. Through the omission of information, they breached the FTA...so yeah, its very illegal and they're risking losing LOTS of money.
Honestly knowing KI’s incompetence I would assume this is a mistake, however, they definitely need to fix it by refunding or giving free Ferryman’s packs to people who were lvl 150 and bought the Cerberus ones
Thing is they don’t know which ones wanted the ferryman gear, or not. I also think that the people who assumed that the only way to get the ferryman gear was through Cerberus pack, and later find out that the pack was released again should get a reimbursement. Because if I would’ve know that they would’ve released the ferryman pack with the gear stick I wanted I wouldn’t have bought any of the Cerberus packs.

I knew this was a scam because after opening $30 worth of Cerberus packs just for one piece of Ferryman gear and didn’t get a single one I went full detective. Started inspecting people with the ferryman gear just to see if I was opening the right pack because I was really confused. After that I decided to start searching CZcams pack opening and EVERY VIDEO AND I MEAN EVERY VIDEO IVE WATCHED didn’t get a single piece ferryman gear either. They better refund me at least 1k crowns or something.
I wasted 30 bucks on that pack because I thought the grim ferryman pack wasn't coming back. I logged on today and saw the grim ferryman pack, and man was I pissed. I did get a bunch of ferryman gear though, and a perm mount. My bank is filled with garbo cerberus stuff though.
i did get some of the ferrymen gear, but it has an extremely low drop rate. everything had a very low drop rate. like i spent 160k trying to get any of the perm mounts, and never got any of them.
I wonder if this is why my game glitched the other day. I was buying the Cerberus pack and kept getting garbage that my wizard couldn't use. Suddenly my game glitched and kicked me out, I logged back in and suddenly all the stuff I was getting from it was stuff my wizard could use. Spent 17k crowns on it too...
I think it was also wrong for the people who only opened the Cerberus pack to get the ferryman gear as a stitch…because now there’s the original pack that would’ve been so much easier to get the gear in…instead of spending tens of thousands of crowns on gear that they didn’t want or need.

I think the Grim ferryman pack is a scam as well. I've been saving my money for Halloween packs. Spent about 80k(ish) crowns on the grim ferryman pack and haven't gotten a single perm mount or the fire wizard scythe(which I wanted).
The entire fucking game is nothing but a ginormous scam. They lowered the drop rates for literally everything. I spent 10k crowns on darkmoor chest and got nothing but 6 of the same athames and 5 of the same tier 3 boots
I spent about 14k on the packs all in hopes that I could try to get one of the mounts but I still haven’t gotten one…compare that to other packs I got mounts from and I didn’t spend nearly as many crowns on them compared to this one it’s definitely a scam

Honestly. I am frustrated as well maybe at a lil bit of a different thing but either way i spent 45k crowns of course the ferry gear is cool i would of wanted it. But no i dont even get a perm cerb mount. Sum has to be done. We as a whole the player base arent being loud enough ( i guess) for KI or the higher ups to notice. Once their wallets are effected then they care but none the less, sumthing has to change wit this bcuz this isnt the firsy time. They literally put out packs for mounts then the next day they add that mount to a lil bundle so its like u didnt even need to spend money on random drops wen u can jus buy that mount wit a few other stuff for bout 11-26k crowns. Their whole system is jus bout tricking us so they can benefit i already spent 400 dollars this month on crowns on top of that the first 50k crown i had at the beginning of the month… honestly we jus need to spam them wit emails letting them KNOW THAT UR A PAYING CUSTOMER AND ARENT HAPPY WIT THE WAY THESE PACKS OR SALES ARE GOING.

They've already made it perfectly clear they dont care about the game being fun, nor do they care about a player's time spent dedicated to their virtual gatcha cashgrab. They're sitting on millions of dollars off people looking for scraps of fun through loot-boxes, gambling addictions, and keeping the game JUST fun enough to keep players sticking around spending hundreds of dollars a month on this game. @@lucaswilson4626 Turns out Gatcha games are better, since their loot boxes have a sort of "Pity system" built into them. Basically, if you bought a certain amount of boxes (say 10 or so), the pity system kicks in and you're garunteed a legendary item of some sorts, rare, whatever.
Wizard101 doesn't have this... And Wizard101 wont add it because hey, new pack? There's gonna be LOADS of pack opening videos because there's no other content to talk about. Congrats, low effort, and it makes them THOUSANDS.
I did the math on their Novus bundles by the way... The more expensive ones save you LESS money than the cheaper one percentage wise.
This is NOT a child safe game, despite how KI tries to preach it is. They ban players for saying things like "Sheet" and "Carp" because they try to make it "Child friendly". When in reality, Children are so vulnerable to buying all their junk. This game has so many pay to win systems it's baffling the legal system hasn't come in and did anything about it, because so far their store is 100% Child Gambling, which is VERY ILLEGAL.
And yes, this pack being a straight up scam is just another nail in this game's coffin of illegal gambling.

both videos on their own are good but an issue you can create when you make an impression video and then later, a negative reaction video is you can trick your audience into buying the product without a solid recommendation. if for example someone saw only the thumbnail of your first video and bought the pack based off their favorite youtuber supposed positive impression then later saw a completely negative reaction to it from the same voice after they had spent their money, they could believe you were trying to deceive them. every major cellphone company for instance does this to maximize their profits at the expense of their consumer. make as many videos as you can reap rewards from, that's your right and charge as a youtuber but this is visually and functionally similar to a scam tons of companies who would be expected to care less about this impact on their customers perform
I don't think that's a fair comparison when many of us who made pack opening videos were also deceived by KingsIsle. I'm mad because I feel like I was ripped off - especially since my original video now acts as proof that the Grim Ferryman gear was not dropping for max levels. I reviewed the pack with the knowledge I had at the time (which for the record was not very positive if you watch it) and now we have new information that I and others opening it were actually ripped off, hence the update. I've since updated my original video too with the new information so anyone who watches it is aware. The only scammer here is KingsIsle...
@@Zaepha I liked both videos. I saw both videos. I don't feel deceived by you. I don't think you're running a scam. I was saying that there are undoubtedly a number of your viewers who did not watch both or either. The impression from information that you did put out on your channel that they might get from your thumbnails for example is similar to the effect seen on almost any tech channel on CZcams. I said the effect of your two videos was visually and functionally similar to this widespread phenomenon; and it is.
Hypothetical: If I were to glance at CZcams and see that my favorite CZcamsr made an "opening $20 of packs" video via a thumbnail containing potential prizes, without watching the video I could have developed a positive impression of the packs. Now, if I spend my money on packs and am disappointed with my results, then see the same CZcamsr make an overtly negative final review, I could feel deceived and lied to for the benefit of posting two videos.
I do not believe you sought this effect or even considered the possibility, I'm just trying to explain how this situation has been and continues to be viewed by many viewers everyday on this platform.
