4:30 I do believe a battery is multiple guns. Fun fact: The term "Battery" as in an electric storage device comes from this. Ben Franklin realized that using multiple Leyden Jars in parallel had a stronger effect, so he analogized it to a battery of cannons having a stronger effect. He also borrowed the term "charge" from cannons to describe "loading up" the Leyden jars with electricity.
A battery is multiple platoons of artillery, usually 6-8 howitzers in the American military. A battery is the same level of structure as an infantry company. It’s usually 2 platoons of 3-4 howitzers.
0:46 You can tell it's a naval gun due to the two piece ammunition, the projectile needed to pierce a warship's armour belt was to big to use a casing like small arms and tanks use. Two piece ammunition is what it say on the tin, projectile first then the propellant charge and/or charges. This gets shoved into the breech by a big metal rod, then it locks the meter* thick "door" so the crew don't die from the scorching hot rapidly expanding gas. *(It can be much thicker on larger guns.)
It's the most famous for naval guns, sure, but it's frequently used for land-based artilleries with shells bigger than 4 to 5 inches (105 to 127mm). Loading the projectile and the propellant separately makes it possible to adjust the amount of propellant used to launch the shell. Modern howitzers would often load the chamber with different numbers of propellant charges depending on the distance of the target. Loading just enough number of charges to hit a target also improves the lifespan of the barrel and the breach block, because the same mechanism with the same materials can bear more instances of devastating internal explosions if each of them were less violent than the maximum safe stress it could tolerate on maximum charge. Meanwhile, ramming in the projectile followed by any different numbers of propellant charges between 1 to "yes" was already automated in real life in the 1990s by, you guessed it, the Germans. It works faster than in MC, it is much smaller than in MC, and it is also more like Willy Wonka's chocolate factory than a cannon. Ümpa Lümpa zibidi dah, zis is ze shell vith your name on top.
This also allowes for faster ramming of the shell makeing reload faster But if the propelant bags are loaded with the speed setting for a shell they can explode (example uss iowa turret explotion)

In this context HE goes through most ships up till 1958 Take the G5 and PT boat series for example, where HE simply is made to kill the crew and explode the enemys ammunition stowage/fuel tanks - it penetrates because the maximal armor on those is 2mm (sheet metal) and later models have 12mm RHA (MOA) armor, which isn't enough to fuze the HE on the outside if the shell weighs above 5kg.
