- What's going on everybody?!?!
It's been a year since I last showed a system that I use to measure 1 rail banks and kicks. Well today, I want to show you the very first system I learned to measure 1 rail banks and kicks. Then I'm also going to show you how speed and spin on the cue ball can affect the outbound angle of a bank.

Finally someone that actually knows what they are talking about. Everyone spends 40 years trying to make a bank shot and this professional pool champion shows you how to actually do that in about 10 minutes. You are the best, thank you!
Have you not found the other multiple people who explain the same thing or variations on here to say FINALLY SOMEONE?? he's just giving info he has learned from others and didn't invent it
Am I the only one that feels the urge to go practice after watching
" LiL Chris " ?
My buddies never taught me this. Thank you sir for your schooling....
Just be aware that this approach (angle of incidence equals angle of reflection) only works if the object ball has natural roll (no spin--no English nor follow/draw spin) and is also traveling at the equilibrium speed, which is determined by a combination of the felt friction and the rail manufacturer.
WOW!!!! I've been playing for 15 plus years and this is the first video I've ever seen that has successfully taught me a system on how to bank that is simple to understand and easy to implement. For that my man I appreciate you. Great Job!!! You gained a subscriber 👍
Interesting that you find this system simple. Imagine trying to do all that with a 30 second shot clock... The simplest system is using the 2 to 1 track lines and then adjusting for how you want to hit the ball. Because everything you do different than soft rolling the object ball, using the 2 to 1 track lines, changes where you want to aim. (IE. hitting harder, using follow or draw, etc). Also the table conditions (and ball conditions) change where you want to aim. The Aramith tournament balls play different than the cheap poly-resin balls. The cheap balls get dirtier faster and have more cling (which affects how they react on the rails). Diamond tables with the extra bouncy rails change the angle the balls come off the rail and make them bank tighter. If you want to bank well, you need to find a good level practice table and practice shooting soft rolling banks using the 2 to 1 track lines. Then practice learning how much you need to adjust for hitting medium, then for hard. Then teach yourself how much to adjust for using soft, medium, and hard with top spin, then do the same with draw. This will give you a feel on how to adjust for different shots, because you don't just need to bank the ball into the pocket; you also need to play shape on your next ball. You should also practice using running and reverse English. Once you have your base lines and how much to adjust. You can then try different tables and teach yourself how to adjust for different rail conditions. No matter what you do, you will want to make sure you use good balls to practice with; because unbalanced balls will roll off, even if the table is perfectly balanced.
Exactly...
Simple
@@dryclimateutaheveryone likes different systems. With so many different 🧠 brains not everyone will see the same.
This is the system an old italian guy named Stan had taught me when i was a teenager shooting pool south of Cleveland and I have never seen it explained so well. Cheers bud 🍻
As a newbie I'd see players hit the ball hard or soft, but never knew the reasons why. A thousand thanks😁 Wish I could give a thousand thumbs up!
This video contains a wealth of valuable information, I love it. Great job Big Chris!!!
C you
I've been doing bank shots relatively successfully for the past few years on a tip I learned. It's so basic that I tell it to people often now.
Try this, imagine a full length mirror on the side of the table that you are hitting the bank off to make the ball in the opposite side pocket.
Then imagine the mirror image of the desired pocket in that imaginary mirror, (it's like looking at the bar table next to the pool table where my beer sits). Then I just shoot it at the desired speed and viola!
I think sometimes people look at me and see that I'm not lining anything up, not measuring and looking way past the actual pool table at some imaginary spot in the air and thinking I'm drunk!
It surprisingly works a lot of the time. Give it a try!
I'm absolutely terrible at bank shots because I've never had a system I could understand. This one makes sense to me, so I'm looking forward to trying it out. Thank you so much.
Thanks, Chris! I have been trying to visualize the angle in my head for a while, not knowing that I am attempting this system.
Been playing for many years, but have always struggled with banks. This was a great explanation that I’ve never heard before. Thanks. ✌️
Iv played pool for nearly 20 years and this is probably the most useful tip for figuring out angles that iv ever had. Going to subscribe now and have a look through your other videos. Cheers 👍
Always top shelf instruction Chris. Great to see you redo a great "basics" video and enhance upon it. Thanks!!
There’s a lot that’s great about this video starting with the instruction and set up, the camera angles, the knowledge. Fantastic! I grew up playing pool in my grandfathers basement then the bowling alley and pool halls down the street from me. I was addicted and played so much it made my father a mad, but it paid off.
Love all your videos greatly appreciate the time out of your day to show us amateurs players how to get better
I watched a few videos on bank shots but explained everything so much better. Thank you.
Best demonstration ever. Perfectly clear. Thanks LC ❤
Wow. Thanks Chris...these will be my workouts for tonight.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have struggled so much with understanding bank shots. This is such an easy system.
Thank you for this, and the previous video on banking! This is the first time that I’ve been able to EASILY understand this system.
Thanks chris for sharing your knowledge and I love the fact that you don't put music over your videos and you explain things very plainly.
Excellent stuff here, thanks for your time and effort explaining this!
Chris,
Thanks for taking the time to adjust your first banking video into what I find as a much easier method to implement. This to me seems to be much quicker & less complicated.
Very well done video. You explain each step in great detail and then repeat the demonstration several times. You're a great instructor! I'm subscribing!
As a very low level player with a weird brain, I’ve been fairly good at 2+ rail kicks and banks, but have seriously struggled with single rails. I can honestly say that this video has truly helped me improve that significantly! Even used it PERFECTLY when I recently was challenged to a game of “bank 8” and executed it flawlessly, leaving everyone in shock! Thank you so much!
I will make a 3 rail and even a 5 rail 7 times out of 10 and miss a long way 1 rail bank every time
Low level players struggle more with single rail banks and kicks because their cue ball striking isn't as pure. Usually caused by poor stroke mechanics. Adding a little unintended English will really throw off one rail kicks/banks... whereas multi-rail kicks/banks usually involve using intentional english. A pre-shot routine, proper stance, proper timing, and practice will all lead to a better stroke and more accurate cue ball striking. I like to get my lower skill level players to practice their stroke by laying an empty water/beer bottle down on the table, then I get them to practice stroking into the bottle opening at various bridge lengths.
LILCHRIS YOU THE MAN !! my dad will be super proud of me when I show him my new learned skills (after some practice of course). Thank you !
bro call yourself Big Chris because your content is helping me out so much
Thanks little Chris ...you kept it simple ... you're very clear
One of the best videos on banking and kicking on the planet. Well done
You are the best player and teacher Chris. Learning a lot with you .
I have never heard these theories so well described! Thank you
Great video and shooting Chris. I always learn something that I use in my growth as pool player.
Saving this vid. My banks/kicks need some work and I think this will help tremendously.
Kudos for your remarkable commitment in producing this video. Having recently returned to the game after a 20-year hiatus, I must express my gratitude for the invaluable tips and insights you've provided. They will undoubtedly elevate my skills and play a crucial role in my overall advancement within the game.
God bless u sir .. for years ive been trying to understand the way Reyes calculate all the banks, yet with your simple explanation, its all clear now. You just earn another subs
Wow man. Never seen this. You have opened my eyes with this. Can’t wait to use this.
Followed the simple instructions and improved my game. Liked and subscribed. Thank you Chris.
Great help on understanding bank shots
Terrific. Fantastic. I feel like I can take my banks to the next level now. That double rail with side pocket blocked shot is great, i can't wait to bring that out.
I am a beginner and this was very helpful. Thank you.
Now THIS is my kind of English class! My cue ball control is horrible. Back in high school I cut class all the time and headed to a friends pool hall. I loved to play, but like I said, after the shot the cue ball usually ends up in a not so optimistic position for the next ball. I still have A LOT to learn! Thanks for the video!
I love this one. It is my go-to. I have been using it for years. Nice video Chris !
Thanks Chris, this is a fantastic video. Really well done.
Thank you very much buddy. I think you're the best teacher about balls banking system. I'll try your system to improve my games and guaranteed it must work.
Omg.. he makes this look soooo easy. I practiced this all day… it was fun!!!🎉🎉🎉
Great video and very well explained......I will be doing this as part of my drills.....
Great banking system with the X's. 15:42 is a classic trick shot too!
Excellent banking tutorial every player needs, thank you
Clear,concise instructions, love it
You’re a king man I was having some trouble with the four diamonds system, and I just couldn’t quite get it down this one feels like the one for me awesome vid.
I've always measured my distance from object ball to chosen pocket an cut in half on opposite rail. 2 diamonds on closest rail, one diamond on opposing rail . But I can see this being handy too!! Thanks buddy, keep doing what you 👍
lol, this was the first one rail bank system I learned too. Still use it with your system from your earlier video Thank you!!
First system I learned when I was a kid as well. Got it from an old Minnesota fats book. 35 years later I still use it. Easiest by far. Works great with kick shots as well.
This is the best way I've seen this described. I get it now. Seriously good job.
Most accurate tutor I've seen so far .. keep up the great works . Please make a video about cut shots that my specialty 😎
Great Lesson! Very informative and easy to understand!
So incredible man....love it
I have waiting for this video all my life, thank you man!!
Great video, very helpful and well explained. Thanks
Very helpful thanks bud, finally I got to learn something brilliant..cheers for the good work👏
Thank you for the lesson. Will be putting it use ...... God Bless.
this was so so cool to learn. thank you
Clearly explained and easy to understand! Thanks!
A simple effective system to learn. Thank you Chris for sharing.
Not sure about simple. I respect the opinion though
Good lesson! Really liked the presentation!
Amazingly simple. Awesome lesson
Really nice job on this one Chris.
Man I've been eyeballing 2 rails for so long I know how to perform them well, but I am soooo glad someone explained a straightforward kick system. I
Awesome! I can't believe this is the first time I've ever seen/heard of a banking system (other than the fed, ha). Thank you!
Awesome dude, thanks. I really love to bank, but I've been away from playing for very long. Love your videos 😅
Dude, I am so gonna try this out tonight.
That was awesome! Ok. Call Reyes and Strickland… I’m ready!😂
Nice video very complete! I will practice some banks with that system. Also would be nice to have the extended version for positional play with sidespin
Never seen this before....amazing system
Exactly how I tought my students one rail banks! Read this one in a book called Minnisota Fats on Pool. 1965.
You're a very good tutor.. u explain so well and simple . I love the game any pointers for me to help out . I still get problems with the contract point on the object ball .
Find the contact point, how ever you do, (ghost ball or whatever) for ME it helps after I've found ghost ball, I picture the cue ball sliding off the contact point.
Been a fan for a while on my other acct and learned a lot from your thorough vids. Appreciate! Totally purchasing your mic tnx to your awesome link organization
Great vid - great tutorial. Chris - you're a solid teacher. The presentation is a really good example of how to present a training course. Thanks for sharing - and improving my game :)
Thanks, this was an excellent lesson. An explanation with demonstration makes it easy to learn. Thanks again, Oscar Canada
Great video buddy. Thank from Bintan Island cheers!
Nice video Chris. I do use the number system but , it's nice to have another reference for banking kicking...
Thank you so very much! You have helped me so very much! 😊
Very good information!! Keep em coming!!!
Very well explained indeed and simple to learn. No complications at all. You just got yourself a new subscriber 😀👍
Make that TWO!
I appreciate your pool lesson ( Chis ) much respect.
He's a pool scientist... My new favorite video!!
You earned a sub with this video. Thank you for making these.
Thank you! That was super helpful
Best system I have ever learned. Worked. First try. Hasn't failed yet. So much better than any other system. Very accurate and deadly if measured precisely. No more guessing like with the mirror system. I know exactly where I need to hit now
I learned the mirror system from a pro and it was hard. You have to compensate the thickness of the rails when visualizing. The system shown here is leagues better and is more consistent.
Insane, shared it with my buddy who i play pool with a lot
That's a great video!
Explained very clearly
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
You're an awesome teacher.
This video is helpful to me because I can take it to the place I practice
it's like having an online trainer with me
Great job man, I've learned a lot from watching you thanks alot....
Great video. I wish I had a pool coach in high school. I don’t even know where to look
You're the best bro...Iearned alot from this video
Thank you! I need to practice my bank shots and this helps a LOT! Subbed!
This is the best bank video on the web.
Last time I shot pool was fifty years ago thanks to this gentleman right here like a match start back
So amazing techniques!
