  • Dennis McKenna, Ph.D is an iconic ethnopharmacologist exploring the world’s visible and unseen biosphere as they intersect with human consciousness. His remarkable memoir, The Brotherhood of the Screaming Abyss (2012), reveals the interconnectedness of all that is perceived as creation intersecting with the fraught lens of being human. Experiences in Amazonia with his late brother, Terrence McKenna, led Dennis to explore new worlds discovered within academic pursuits in the field of ethnopharmacology. Exploring time and space outside of their physical limitations, he seeks to understand and share his experience of the natural world inside out, based on a profound understanding of the duality of experiential knowledge and science. Maybe he’ll help us answer the age-old question “What is reality?” Or, maybe he’ll help us to understand what is not reality. Join us on this ethnobotanical journey.
