- All this weekend, I have been getting messages about the downtime Internet Computer experienced in their central nervous system. Although I have tried to avoid this topic and continue working on creating blockchain tutorials, the community would not let me. Therefore, I decided to give my two cents regarding how I perceive this downtime. I hope my perspective helps and that your investment concerns remain minimal.

Every layer 1 or 2 has trash coins on it, it's pretty unavoidable, just don't buy them.

LOL. Tamperproof means that regardless of anything, the network will be safe. Have you lost any funds so far? Has any dapp gone offline so far?

I actually disagree with the comparison. Blockchains are meant to be decentralized with no single point of failure. Bitcoin has had 2 minor downtimes in its very early days but ever since has been running without any pause. If any L1 wants to be seriously considered as the future payment network, I am of the opinion there shouldn't be a downtime. It's not comparable to centralized services like Google or Facebook. Even in the case of some Atlantic underwater cable breaking causing some outage, the network should keep running in other parts of the world and eventually let offline parties catch up to consensus. But a complete outage is not a good sign in this industry imho.
