creepiest part of the game
Even if you have never played this game, this song tells a story.
If you HAVE played this game, this song holds the weight of the moon in meaning.
yeah the music helps alot in visualizing how the final showdown would look like if it were to get made into a animated movie like how ember lab has made that short clip. the part when you can hear a bit of the song of time could for example be where the parts of the movie when the memory of zelda and hyrule or when the magic of the ocarina of time has saved him. either a movie or a tv series.
Did- did you get it? ‘Cause this is the theme of the guys who hold the moon huehejeheueh.
You can actually hear when the Giants Appear, walk towards Clock Town struggle and succeed in stopping the moon. Very good job in making this!
@@Hazard33 Yep! Ember Lab actually used this author's music in their video

Swamp.

Hurry, the four who are there.
Bring them here.
Then this epic song comes in over the original, no dis on the original, it was amazing when I was a kid.
Thanks for the dialogue
Stupid FAIRY!!! Don’t speak out of line!
Water.
Earth.
Fire.
Air.
Hurry, master the four elements
You only got like a couple months
The zombies are coming.
I don't think there will ever be a game again that captures the urgency, the gloom, the doom, the loneliness, the bleakness, the regret, that this game rolled all into one. Many games have showed epic disaster time and time again, but it always rang so hollow. This game made you CARE about every person in that world. We can remember them all - they all had hopes, dreams, and plans, and it was all coming to an end. That is, until you got there.
This is without a doubt the best game ever.
"Anyone can be a hero. Sometimes it's as simple as wrapping your coat around the shoulders of an orphan boy just to remind him that the world hasn't ended." -Batman

That last part gave me chills for some reason "until you arrived..."
Bloodborne ?
8:50 - 9:29 that Oath to Order + Song of Time remaster is one of the greatest things my two human ears have heard.
The way one song seamlessly melts into the other is just, for lack of a better word, fucking orgasmic
@@atomsorcerer8356 considering both were made a few years apart is amazing too
"Music may not save your soul, but it makes your soul worth saving."
What the fuck does that even mean
@@MrJayberry176 It means he wants to put people that are kind of indifferent to music in concentration camps
@@MrJayberry176
He means that music is an enrichment to you or your personality.
It means fear fear. Tag bee.
@@MrJayberry176 To save something is simple. But being worth saving is something different. Music cannot save your soul, but adds to it and makes it worth saving because, as Ninjaananas said, it enriches it.
its kinda hard for me to come back to this rendition these days
listened to it a lot back in early 2020 during a really fateful, desolate part of my life, and while things have improved a bit, listening to this takes me back to that time period
Sometimes it can be a good reminder of how far you've come since then. And who knows? Maybe that pain can become something that protects you and makes you stronger someday...then the memories won't be so bad...
@@pkphantomHaving that reminder is like an Oath, isn't it? "I swear to myself to not forget that pain, for the suffering and the challenge it brought me. I will remember, lest I forget the importance of it, and I will remember, that despite how hard it was, I survived."
there comes a time in every man's life, when you have to hit the like button, my time was 3:49
Pure epic
Same bro, best part
I do really very much enjoy that part, but personally, the bit starting at 8:58 just gives me chills, man.
For me it was at 9:00.
3:00 was when I did.
Can you imagine a trailer to a Majora's Mask movie with this music? It starts out with a black screen, with the sounds of large clockwork, and finally a voice saying "You've met a terrible fate, haven't you?" Then the music begins at 2:46, and at every horn burst, they show a different, live-action location in Termina, slowly building up to 3:43, where it then cuts to Anju holding holding the pendant of memories, shifting her gaze up into the sky at the enlarged, ominous moon, finally breaking into the main trailer action sequence at 3:50.
I would scream.
Good to know I'm not the only one that does this consistently in my head listening to these types of songs haha
You would make a great director cos that is just awesome.
I think we are the lucky few
imma make this well not exactly like this but somewhat close
In the future I hope to make that trailer and movie of which you seek.
This makes me want to learn to animate, just so I can make the scene in my head real.
Just saw this comment, and I know it's been a year, but I'm an aspiring animator inspired by this piece- my only problem is a lack of scene. Willing to discuss?

2:55 leading up to 3:50 and beyond is one of the most epic musical experiences I’ve heard
I personally think they could’ve just started the piece there but instead they put almost 3 mins of filler ambience
@@KanoPX hard disagree, it is no filler.
this just popped up in my recommended and i must say, i would KILL for an animated majora’s mask movie with semi-realistic, uncanny visuals that keeps the original character design, surreal atmospheric ambiance and contains these phenomenal orchestrated compositions. it would be a cinematic experience like no other.
i can almost sense a fan project on its way with how much potential has been shown.
I may be late. But I just noticed listening this that a CHILD had to experience the gloomy, twisted, and evil of Majora's Mask. A CHILD has to save the world from the moon and an evil mask demon-like being.
A child had to save the world from children.
Bad Beard Bill who were being controlled by an evil power made by adults who were corrupted by greed
Sure, but that child had also already faced and defeated the demon king Ganon, so this was was a walk in the park.
@@JakenTheGreat the child I was referring to was the skullkid and the moon child
@MerakiNoon
To be fair, this child had already defeated Ganon before this.
I LOVE YOU THEOPHANY !!!
this gets me mad at how good it is
Patrick Oliver The fact that Nintendo won't allow to make a Majoras Mask movie and we have to watch and listen to fan made soundtracks and shorts. It's teasing. Breathtaking achievements. This captures the darkness that Majoras Mask really is, i was worried people would think of it as a cheesy kids game. The storyline is something on a thrilling scale and it's quite sad really, we have all these potential animators and soundtrack artists. Allow them to make a movie already.
Rufus Greenleaf What's stopping them from organizing it and making it? Nintendo don't really make movies, they're a game company, but a fanmade project like that would be free advertising.

Known Scone thanks for pointing that out...
Four Giants. Four guardians. One oath to follow. When the song is sung, the court of the Giants must come together. And defend the land they're ordered to protect
Vadiam Gamer It is your job as link to save them all. Or let the moon fall
You must lay spirits to rest so that the new day can come at last.
And face a corrupting power at the cost of your own sanity. Will you face such a terrible fate?
Facing grueling tasks with the help of spirits you’ve healed along your journey.
That’s true
I started crying while listening to this song. Not only is it unbelievably beautiful, but it holds the entire weight of the story in it!
4:55--7:00 is absolutely beautiful melody
In another parallel reality, the beginning snippet of that section before the MM music and the Giant's vocal resumes would be the sound that plays behind the Great Deku Tree telling Link of the great evil that rode forth upon a shadowbound steed with eyes of blood from the Gerudo Desert in search of power to corrupt the realm to his will.
Would have made the meeting with him and the steed at the Castle Town Gate possibly terrifying beyond belief because they'd have a mysterious motif to accent his evil.
Link should have not known his power with the mystery finally revealing his true evil once he decides to attempt killing him then and there. They should have explained later that he knew the entire time who you would become and killed the Great Deku Tree for protecting you rather than to gain power.
And suddenly, you feel shivers down your spine, goosebumps on your arm. Your heart misses a beat. Your throat thightens as uncontrollable tears come at the corner of your eyes. A sob grows in your chest. But it's stuck, you can't let it out. You can't breath, too. Your mind runs like never before, too much feelings, too much thoughts, you can't stop thinking and feeling.
Welcome to Termina. Joy in despair, bravery in fear, and Life in Death.

Thanks for this beautiful track Theophany. A true masterpiece we can feel deep in our guts.
Years later i still can't help but shed tears whenever @3:49 hits
Now if only a studio could produce a high quality short reenacting the scene where the giants come to stop the moon. This cover of Oath to Order would really go awesome with it.
Just rediscovered this. Lemme tell ya, NOTHING gives me chills like this anymore.
I don't have any words to describe this. The solemn determination, the grave circumstances based around the song itself, the nostalgia, all amplified in this masterpiece. I just want there to be more amazing works like this one. Golly.
I'm just imagining this scene in my head:
its the final night and link is still in the stone tower temple. Everyone in clock town realizes and starts to panic but in the middle of all the panicking the mother of Anju rolls out of the stock pot inn on her wheelchair. She gets into the crowd and says in her old shriveled voice: "there is no time to panic. we must call the four who are there... the four giants!" Everyone looks at each other contemplating if they should do so or not. Eventually they decide that they have to. So everyone gathers in the center of clocktown. The zoras, Lulu, Anju, the carpenters, the deku, the mayor, Madame aroma, Cremia, Romani every single person in termina gathers and sings the oath to order.
9:05 - that Song of Time bit mixed in was just beautiful.
This song is a testament to both your ensembles' skill and the original composer. I hear the pain of betrayal, the longing of hope, the glory of God, the memories of youth, the resignation of senescence, and the promise of tomorrow. Thank you for creating this and the other Time's End pieces. I eagerly await your next release.
From what I hear in this music, it speaks more to the side of the giants. This song portrays thier side of the story. These celestial being were sleeping in peace until a child awokened each and every one of them. Halfway through the music essentially highlights their importance in this story. 3/4 way into this piece shows the purpose and the struggle they face as they hold the moon with all of their might. In the end, the giants finish the job. The music does not finish peacefully. It cuts off abruptly, as it signifies all the effort that has been placed in stopping the moon has paid off.

@@axelarias8110 to me, When I heard the giants, I could visualize the skull kid attempting to remove the mask, but not being strong enough. Then when all hope seemed lost and the world was at it's knees, the giants bestow the fierce deity mask upon link. And after seeing the suffering and terror brought upon the world as a result, link made his choice. He decided to fight. To courageously charge forward and face his mighty foe. And when the majora's mask revealed its true nature link protected skull kid. With that the battle inside the moon began. The fight was long and hard, and as the final blow was struck the moon began to rise. But link knew that unless the masks were all sealed away they could resurface and destroy the world. He decided to stay on the moon, to act as a guardian from the evil of his own mask.

Now that Nintendo's making movies, this song made me realize how much we need this to be a series focusing on all the Quests and connecting us to the world and deepening the lore. Mario works as a movie, all zelda adaptions should be series imo

Your work gives off a Zelda meets Dark Souls feel. Brilliant. I hope you can go far with your talents. You have so much talent.
Anyone else getting a Dark Souls/ Bloodborne vibe from the first half? Either way, simply gorgeous piece. Awesome work!
The hero of time's story is really a tragedy, I feel the themes of the game loss of childhood, friendship, and love are all mirroring things he has lost may have never found.
It sounds holy, like a divine deity saving their mortals in times of great need, as everything falls apart. It sounds holy, like that god coming down. Saving the mortals, in times of great need, as the mortals cry for desparate help at the end of the world, afraid that their god wouldn't hear them, yet the god does, and comes down in an epic manner, as everything falls apart, and a song echoes along the broken land. The Oath To Order has been played, by a hero directly aided by the god. The Song Of Time, as everything repairs itself.
He who plays the Oath to Order, be he worthy, will summon forth help from the Giants themselves.
It does sound like all of Termina praying to the Giants at one point, doesn't it?

When I die and my body shall be burned, I want my funeral song be the Oath of Order. In this world of chaos, at least, in that way... something has to rumble on the heart of the ppl of my generation, about there's still time, as long as we got a drop of health in our lifespan and, even, shine in our eyes.
You, sir, are a legend, as is your entire crew. Between you and Undying Nephalim (Hyrule: Total War), we could have a Legend of Zelda movie that would be as great as the Lord of the Rings trilogy a decade ago, if only Nintendo would hire you guys to make it!

It's more of John Powell mixed with Jeremy Soule
@@DeviousKid45 that's on point, Jeremy Soule surely has been an inspiration for those vocals arrangements
Holy. Butts. WHY AM I JUST FINDING THIS NOW?!?!?
Right?
From 9:41 to end brings so much emotion. I literally feel like time has run out. Makes me cry
That ocarina at the end is perfection
You're listening to Radio Zelda... Only 24 hours left, until the end of the world..
Theophany will always be one of the best!
I was totally waiting to hear the main part of it with the whole ensemble blasting it at the end, but the somber direction with only the ocarina playing it was an outstanding choice. You only hear the main phrase 3 times in total. First in the cello, then in the female voice, and then finally in the ocarina. Masterful composition
The ocarina at the end gives me massive chills everytime
The more I listen to this, the more I think less of the Giants being summoned to push back the moon and more of the Giants coming into existence for the first time when Termina was first created after Majora's rage was calmed. Your music has been a true inspiration to me creating a Termina Bible
I've been listening to this track for years and it still makes my skin crawl, my hair stand up with frisson. So powerful.
Es una de las obras más épicas que he tenido el placer de escuchar. Es una obra tremenda ❤️
Si me impresiono demasiado, creo que haran una pelicula y por eso publica los song digo yo, no se si será verdad

These songs are some of my favorite ever I’m so happy these albums were made
I’d like to hope for more one day but just this gives me some of the most emotional yet peaceful music
Oh my gosh! I am just in love with your work man.
Majora's Mask is a special game to me, I consider it my favorite video game, period.
The way you capture the aesthetics almost perfectly let's the listener imagine the scene in their head and it truly feels like I'm there in Termina, witnessing the despair and never ending dread (in a good way of course)
Like this song for example, the way you did it was just perfect.
The chimes of the clock making you never forget the fate of the world and the people in it.
How you face the giant, while Termina is in trouble.
Gah, I can't find words for how amazing this is.

WHY HAVE I NOT HEARD OF THIS ALBUM?! I bought the first years ago and finding this second one is an awesome Christmas gift.
Next one is coming out in 2020 I believe but I'm not 100%
I meditate with this and let me tell you... it's an experience few drugs can hope to match.
This song adds to who I am every time I hear it.
I bought this album and I dont regret it a single bit. These remixes are incredible. I could listen to them all day, week or year. I just love every single one of the songs in there. It's amazing. Thank you for the great music.
from 3:47 it gave me goosebumps. such an awesome composition of the song.
Working the song of time in there towards the end? Goddamn. Your re-imagining is beautiful, thank you!
7:01 to the end is so intense, I can't describe it
The last 30 seconds is just magical. I would like to imagine it plays while Link is trying to make his way back to Kokiri forest and at first it seems he makes it and is finally able to see his friends and live his childhood again for real this time. Link smiles and runs towards everyone only for the camera to suddenly pans to Lost Wood. We now are presented with a withered, sad-looking Stalfos wearing a green tunic, an old and broken ocarina by his hand, sitting alone under a tree in the rain. Music ends.
i have some spare ruppees, where can one buy this fine music?
His bandcamp!
I am telling all of my friends (the ones who play zelda games at least) about this. After all, this work of quality better get around as much as possible.
No, Gunpowdercoffe. Tell them all.
I've never even played a Zelda game and I think these albums are some of the most gorgeous music I have ever heard in my life. Telling everyone is paramount.
GunpowderCoffee i've told my friends, but they won't listen to it because it's so long. THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND.

Or you can triFORCE them...
This is so ridiculously good. Also, Jaeger nailed it. That section of this song is perfect.

The story of a hero who was robbed of his childhood, lost a friend, and went missing into the woods and was never to be seen again…jesus 😂
To come back as a shade to train a distant descendant
Doesn't have to be a Direct Descendant :)
@Caleb Kremer maybe something happens between Majora and when he becomes a shade.
he does come back to hyrule though the heroes shade is a piece of the soul of the hero of time that was filled with regret that he wasnt remembered as a hero other than that he lived a full life
@Caleb Kremer They never said he was dead lol
Just that he went missing
this whole album is fuckin fire. nostalgia to the max. i can play this game over and over again but it'll never feel the same as when the very first time i played it and everything was new.
The build up from 1:46 on feels like an ELE (extinction level event) is about to happen and I can picture all of Links enemies teaming up with him for such an event. Ganondorf wanted to rule the world, but Majora's Mask wanted to destroy it.
Just imagine that Tears of the Kingdom rewrites it so that most all the villains you have ever faced through the series are included, either resurrected as Hollows by a reincarnated Astor (a prophecy in and of itself) if they had already been defeated, or pulled from timelines by the innate evil of the Triforce of Power (Calamity) itself:
Aghanim
Zant
Vaati
Majora
Ganondorf
Puppets of Ganon
Demise
Ghirahim
Calamity itself
Pull a No Way Home and remove them from their timelines at the exact moment they would have been stopped by the Hero of Time so that they *all* want to kill Link with a motivation.
This entire game could be a hard-reset of the timeline.
The whole principle behind them saying that it could be as frightening/dark as Majora's Mask and with the highlight color of the magic shown so far, it all relates to one concept:
*_Courage_*
Skyward Sword: Blue (Triforce of Wisdom)
Breath of the Wild: Red (Triforce of Power)
Tears of the Kingdom: Green (Triforce of Courage)
Breath of the Wild Link can save all of his ancestors. That single butterfly effect rewrites the Hero's Shade prophecy to where OOT Link has a peaceful life.
