Quixel Rebirth: UE4 (Music/SFX Only)

- The music I composed for Quixel's State of Unreal 2019 short film: "Rebirth". I collaborated with Ice Musician Terje Isungset for the ice music aspects of the score. This particular ice came from the frozen rivers near Winnipeg, and Terje carved all the ice chimes and horns himself. Many of the decorative ice scultures were so large and heavy that tractors were needed to move them with the utmost care, or they could shatter. Amazingly, Peter Hargraves managed to transport the ice without any damage but took about 10 hours. I'd love to post some of the videos I took sometime.
ICE MUSIC FACTS
Because the instruments are ice, they will go out of tune if the temperature isn't cold enough, so we recorded everything in an ice rink at -5 c in Winnipeg. Outside, temperatures were consistently around -40C. At those temperatures your skin starts to burn if you're not covered properly. AS for the ice that was used to make the music, it is most certainly melted or destroyed at this point. Terje must make new instruments for each gig. It was an honor to work with him as well because he quite literally invented making musical instruments from ice 20 years ago. vocals were improvised and performed by Lena Nymark, a longtime collaborator of Terje's.

I would definitively pay you a significant amount of money, If you would make a full track with this theme... The music is absolutely mind boggling! I get goosebumps every time... Such an amazing sound with so much colour and depth. Please make this reality. It would be an instant all time favourite!
Unfortunately it was literally made with ice, and that ice is long gone. Multiple people were involved in making this song. Terje Isungset for the ice, Javier Orman with the violin, Lena Nymark did the vocals, and Alvin Wee in the mastering. It's unlikely they can all be regrouped to make a full version of the song.
0:59 just unbelievable. Those first 3 chords of strings and the vocal just stuns me everytime I watch it. Amazing work. One of the most dramatic things I've ever watched and listened.

DUDE. I've been watching the Rebirth trailer all day wondering who the audio person was, because the sound design is phenomenal. Then I was listening to Time's End because I also respected your sound design in that too. I DIDN'T REALISE IT WAS YOU DOING BOTH OF THEM. Inspirational work, seriously.

I imagine it's due to some corporate jargon in his contract (it was was made FOR this video, music without the video CZcams will give it a strike for duplicate music, etc.), so this was probably the easiest option available.
Here's to hoping for a real release though!
It took me a little bit to realize the chords are the same as interstellars at that last quarter, but you managed to make something beatiful and feels like a story of its own 👌🏽

I have finally found the person who has created this beautiful soundtrack which I have acutally listened to it so many times it unreal. The music, the feel with the engines I can picture in my head when the first time humans will land on mars like this track is right up there with Hans Zimmer. Honestly so much love from Scotland.
