This version of Deku Palace makes it seam like less of three foot tall shrubs and more six foot tall warriors with wood masks.

And yet the fact that it’s not for 6ft tall warriors with wood masks and is instead for 3ft tall shrubs makes it all the better.
They are more than capable warriors at their current stature, a six-foot Deku would be terrifying.

Their work is truly a story told through music. Even if you’ve never played MM, you can feel the tension built into the music. The chaotic blending of instruments to portray the clamor over the missing princess. The fury of the Deku King. The anguish and terror of the monkey.

The Deku Palace was already in my top 5 for songs in Majora's Mask. Definitely an artful interpretation. Brings a good sense of royalty and prestige to the dekuscrub people.
And the monkey...
The violin work vaguely made me think of The Witcher 3 (probably since that was the last major violin piece I heard this year) which in turn brings about thoughts of a society that is a bit brutal and tough on outsiders.
Zeracan I'm the violinist in this who came up with that part; the Witcher 3 soundtrack is one of my favorite video game tracks so it's interesting that you say that's what it reminds you of! :)

a large part of the witcher feel also comes from the hurdy-gurdy i think
4:04 one of my favorite parts. literally has the feeling of "end of times" and if you pay attention in the bg there's a bass similar as the one played in the clock town's third day.
I love that you can hear the players breathing, you can really tell this wasn't just digital. It really gives it a sense of life!
If they ever made a Majora's Mask movie, this song would be right at home on the part where Link is sneaking around past the guards to get to the monkey prisoner.

It's my second, right after Healing Termina. I just love how this one starts off so cheerful and then at the 1:51 mark it descends into this adventurous theme, mixed with somewhat of a feeling of dread, as if you're in a race against the clock again, reminiscent of the entire game's looming dread above.
If Zelda gets a movie I hope you get chosen to do the sound tracks!!

This remix is haunting me. In a good way. I was sitting on the toilet taking a dump the other day listening to this. I started crying because it's so good. Crying to this remix while pooping is one of the most intense experiences of my life and I mean that as the highest compliment.

You can hear each scene; racing the deku butler, the monkey, the princess pissed at her dad, sneaking around the palace, the looming threat of the jungle boss lurking, the clock ticking racing to the great fairy in the swamp.
I wish the deku palace existed in BOTW,it would just be perfect....
Actually, the deku scrubs are one of the few races NOT represented in BotW. Let’s hope they make a return in the sequel.
Let’s also hope that despite Link being twice their height, they’re still fooled by a simple wooden mask and let him in.
How they react to Koroks though? Maybe they could be friends and help each other or something like that?
I would have loved to see the dekus or a deku tribe return to the land of hyrule in botw 2. They could have spun it as them returning to the homeland once destroyed. It saddens me to see them fade even further into the middle distance. 😓

I would kill for this. It’s all I’ve dreamed MM to be. Every time I replay it I just can’t stop imagining certain parts of the game in UE. Holy god this is what this game needs.
When you go and give the masks to those children, it’s almost like lucid dreaming.
Wait wait wait, I just noticed in the credits that freaking JOE ZIEJA was in this! I knew he had OCRemix stuff, but didn’t know he was involved in this at all. Definitely had me double take!
I mean, at this point it's worth saying that it's more than a simple remix, like it's a complete reinterpretation of the song in a way that it has nothing to be ashamed of in comparison with the original, but it doesn't really fit in the game though, it more like contemporary music with a lot of game history being shared
It doesn't fit the game, the game would have to have much higher production value and cinematic heft to work with this version of the tune. I'm seeing Deku dancers dancing intensely around a fire in celebration, preparing for their dark sacrifice, while link has to sneak around the Deku castle using the Dekus jubilations as distraction while he infiltrates.

Such a masterful and glorious reimagining of the Deku Palace. Majora's Mask is still one of my fave Zelda games. The shout at 2:34 sent shivers down my spine.
This makes me feel like I'm listening to a group of wild, mystical, musical creatures dancing around a fire in the dark. I love it so much.

This is simply the best remix of zelda it can be found on internet, it wasn't even the most epic song ingame, but you managed to make it so glorius, you can even hear a story in the pure song, I have no other words to describe this as pure epicnes.

Holy moly on my second remix now from Theophany now. Just too epic hot damn. I had forgotten this was the zelda I wanted to imagine roleplaying when I was a kid, but the games never went hard enough. The primality of these tunes have finally fulfilled that expectation so many years later.
This has more views than the ACTUAL theme of Deku Palace. That's a sign of success right there.

Hi there, I'm in the description, which gives you a clue how Theophany does his thing. He looks for people to play in his arrangements, and uses VST instruments if he can't find anyone to play some particular instrument. He arranged Molgera once, 3 years ago. I wish he can rearrange many of the Zelda musics, they're so good! Anyways, hope this helps you and enjoy Theophany's masterpieces!
