Episode 5 up next is considered the epiosde that sort of changed the way TV can tell stories. In the way TV was never used prior to dive deeper. Or at least the first for HBO shows and then later other cable networks for the next 25 years. And a glimpse into how good the Sopranos is going to get.
@@brianpappas5075 im assuming you mean until Breaking Bad 9 years later. But I'm not just talking about gangsters. We see this opened up storytelling in 2002's The Wire, 2006's Six Feet Under. And other morally complicated and compromised characters such as 2006's Dexter, 2007's Mad Men, etc.
I never thought I'd see someone cry in a reaction over the death of Jackie Aprile. 😀 The good news is that he is seen again in some flashback scenes later in the series.

When Christopher walks in to find his friend Brendon dead in the bathtub, the dialogue from the tv is, “comply by following orders”, as in the Mikey was just following Uncle Junior’s orders to murder him.
Colin, remember that Jackie settled the dispute between Tony and Junior in episode 2. He refered to himself as acting boss in that scene. But it's easy to miss on first viewing.
