  • The Liberties is an area in central, Dublin, Ireland, located in the southwest of the inner city. It is one of Dublin's most historic working class neighbourhoods. The area was tradionally associated with the River Poddle, market traders and local family - owned businesses, as well as the Guinness brewery, whiskey distilling, and, historically, the textile industry and tenement housing.

Another enjoyable tour. I waved to my sister in Glasnevin from the tower😊. I was surprised at how quiet it was…both pedestrians and traffic. The Singing Hollow, stunning mural portrait, old stone church, and ‘last but not least’ Darwin the dog 🐶.

Fantastic tour, Don, and great camera work. It's amazing how much one discovers, simply by walking around. Loved the small houses.

Don, Great video!! I love the Liberties! I hope it doesn't get too developed. It's been a year since I was in Dublin, I'm missing my barstool at Fallon's!

As always Don, a great tour of wonderful old Dublin city!
I love how you always impart info & educate viewers, by way of talking about the history of where you are.
As I always say, you bring Ireland to us & I personally love it all!
I would love to go inside the shop "Queen of Tarts" to enjoy a few slices of yummy & decadent cake & sip on some nice hot tea.
There's also another tea house that serves up great breakfasts, food, cakes, etc;, which is similar to the Queen of Tarts, but right now, I cannot remember the name. Although I've suddenly just remembered the name "spoon" within the shops full title.
I saw Gemma Stafford dine within it, during one of her you tube series.
I also love enjoying my tea & cake, with all the lovely old fashioned crockery & cutlery. It just truly "adds" to the already wonderful, cosy & homely experience.
I cannot wait to visit Dublin & to check out the many wee shops, specifically the cake shops/tea houses. lol
Thanks for sharing your cheerful videos & do know that they're greatly appreciated.
PS. My husband & I have no interest in tattoos either Don! So here's 3 of us! lol

Thanks for the wonderful video. So many new buildings in Dublin! I dream of going back but I wonder if I’d recognise anything at all. Not saying it isn’t for the better but still makes me a bit sad.

There's history to these areas is long and hard and should be mentioned in these walk arounds. That new Simon building was already there, this is rebuild for the Simon community. It once had a working yard inside and a shop front. The yard produced bundles of sicks from broken pallets and sold to the public. The shop sold donated furniture all proceeds went back into the Simon to run the service. Simon was the first outreach in Ireland for people with alcohol problems. Great organisation. 👍☘️💞
