Thank you for watching & look out for more videos coming shortly. Keep safe, stay safe, & keep well during this uncertain time of the COVID-19 virus. - Jak na to + styl
Incredible detail and realistic looking station. Great watching this!
Thank you 😊
A surreal and ethereal layout which accurately reflects the modern scene with far too few passengers. The signalman with his strange teapot adds to the mystery of the scene! Maybe cheer things up with a large bag of passengers from China? I have been watching your series from the beginning, so it is nice to have an update from time to time. Keep them coming! Thanks for uploading.
Hi Allan, a lot still planned and yet to do on the layout. One of the jobs on the list as you've mentioned is to roll out fitting of the passengers and more train crews. Just time etc thats slowing things down at the min, but steadily getting there. Kindest regards Iain.
More lovely modelling again👌
Many thanks 🙂
Lovely to see updates again, really nice surprise this am. Looking good love the mail office and loading bays very smart Andy
Hi Andy, thank you. Steadily getting there with it now. Quite pleased on how the mail depot has turned out with it being my first scratch build building project. All the best and kind regards Iain.
Excellent attention to detail👌🏻
you really have captured a prototypical looking layout 😍
Hi and thank you 🙂 Steadily getting there with the layout build now. Kind regards Iain
Morning, yours is one of my favourite layouts, great detail, and your royal mail building is great, well done.🌈😷🇬🇧
Hi Lee, thank you and thank you for your support. Its very much appreciated. Kindest regards Iain
Good update, looks great
Thank you 🙂
WOW! What a lot of progress in this video. Love the parcels building and lighting effects. I shiver every time you show your winter scene and the crossing lighting made it seem even colder. Take care yourself Iain. Regards, David.
Hi David, i could do with some real thing snow at the minute, a tad on the warm side here at the moment. Lol. Was great to see and meet you at Warley last year 🙂. Steadily getting there with the layout, looking forward to getting the station completed now. All the best and kind regards Iain.
Your mail building a beautifully done. Such a lovely layout, so much detail. The floodlighting at the crossing is very effective.
Thank you Rob, it's very much appreciated. Slowly getting there with it now, slowly but surely. Really enjoying the progress you've been making. Keep up the great work, kind regards Iain.
Hello Iain, very good update, a max of news from your layout. Thank you for this Important update. Gérard.
Hi Gérard, thank you. I was a bit slow with videos last year, so hoping this year to get back into the swing of things again. All the best, Iain.
Awesome layout! Glad to see another update. Take care. Ollie
Hi Ollie, thank you. Slowly getting there with the layout now. Kind regards, Iain.
ay76 well Rome wasn’t built in a day! Can’t wait to see more :)
Excellent update, with the works to the Royal Mail depot and the tunnocks container is a nice touch
Thank you. Making steady progress with it now. Kind regards Iain.
Great to see another update Iain, you have certainly been busy, the Royal Mail depot building looks excellent.
Stay safe
Michael
Hi Michael, thank you. Been trying to make a big push on it this year. So steadily getting there with it now. Kindest regards Iain
I woke up in the early hours of this morning, looked at my phone and thought, he can't be making videos at this time of day.
Up three hours later and you had!
Been looking forward to seeing what you have done with the layout mate
Hi mate, i'd left it uploading last nite due to the slow upload speed. Appolgies for waking you up. Catch you soon as the lockdown is fully eased up.
Hello! I’ve just seen this via a recommended link in CZcams and I am glad I did. You have a wonderful looking layout. That Mail terminal is especially superb. Have subscribed and am looking forward to seeing more updates.
Hi and thank you, it's very much appreciated. Steadily getting there with the building of this layout project. Kind regards Iain.

Thank you. And the same to you, keep safe. Kind regards Iain.

Many thanks mate, this A4 is certainly getting a good running now. Looking forward to your garden railway project 🙂 Kind regards Iain.
very nice update sorry missed some of your videos my notification s was turned off don't know how as I usually have them on .well have turned it back on so should miss anything 👍 well stay safe all the best al 👍👍😄🙋🏻♂️
Hi Al, YT have done the same to me on some channels that i follow for some reason. A few i had to turn back on. Thank you for your support. All the best Iain
Nice update, I have the same Digitrax system, expensive but well worth it. I also have a zepthyr as a slave unit, for a more realistic manual running controller.
Hi, very impressed with this DCC system so far and looking forward to seeing what other features it'll allow me to do. Like your idea of the slave system with the Zephyr unit. Kind regards Iain.
Nice Class 121!!!
Thank you 🙂
Nice video !
Greetings from Germany Gert
Hi and greetings, all the best 🙂
I found your channel from a list that Lumsdonia put out. -Heath
Hi Heath, thank you. Very humbled to be on the list 😊
I am liking the progress Iain. I think the layout is coming along nicely and I like the addition of a driver in the HST. I assume they are handmade in the UK? I have my reasons for asking because all my new model trains etc will be from NMJ, Roco, Fleischmann and Trix. Keep up the great videos as always mate and keep healthy :).
Ash.
Hi Ash my friend, hope you're keeping well. Steadily getting there with it now. The driver is hand made in the UK. I've listed the link down below on where to find them. Various other ones offered, so well worth checking out. Kindest regards Iain.
Great video, will you also put drivers in the DMU's?
Hi, a number of the DMU's i've fitted drivers and passengers in a number of them. It's still an ongoing project, fitting the wee model folk but slowly getting there. Kind regards Iain
Hi Iain fantastic modelling as usual, are the signal grills a scale model scenery kit? can't seem to find them on their website.
Hi, thank you it's very much appreciated 🙂 on the Scalemodelscenery.co.uk website search the modern track walkway grids kit LX210-OO. This i've adapted and used as the signal grilles kit. There is another assorted grilles pack on the same website that could also be used for this purpose as well. Kind regards Iain.
How on earth did you make the shape of the ten commandments benches got the kits myself but find the shape really hard to replicate . Great model railway mate superb work.
Hi Drew, yes a little bit fiddly to get the shape right on them. I bought a hold and fold tool to help me bend the brass bench seat. Have a look on the likes of Expotools, Amazon, Squires Tools sites for the Hold & Fold tools. Well worth buying one, one of those tools i'd wished i bough years ago. Kind regards Iain.
@@railandmodel Thanks for the reply will check out the tools see if i can get one to help .
Hey, I just stumbled across your layout and wondered if there was an era theme to this, it appears to WCML on the catenary style but I wasnt sure, is the multi-track catenary the torri-laser style ? Kat@johnsonstreetIEMD
Hi, it's set in modern day period, but will be running any thing from the BR blue period up to current day. The catenary is from scalemodelscenery.co.uk which offers a mix and match catenary gantry system. Two different styles of masts, two different styles of headspans, and two add on head spans expansion packs to choose from. This system allows the gantries cover any width railway. There is some videos showing this catenary and how its built here on my channel. If you search catenary on the search this channel videos, it should bring them up in the search results.
@@railandmodel Oh ok, I will definitely check that out, I currently have someone making up some catenary masts from nbrass multi-track forms but with the triangular droppers to work with the peco single track masts for a Crewe-stylised dropper, early WCML style look but very much era-10-11...
Is that bow girder bridge the SMS laser one?
Hi Roger, yes thats correct they're the SMS Bowstring girder bridges. 🙂👍
Hi, can the Hunt mag couplings be used on Lima O gauge coaches?
Hi Les, an O gauge version has been suggested, and they are going to look into what can be done for O gauge with the couplings. Kind regards Iain.
If anyone ever makes a Royal Mail class 325 you should get one for the Royal Mail Depot
Deffo 👍
I'm nowhere near DCC yet but do you recommend a particular decoder or do you use whatever you can get ?
Hi, go for the best decoders your budget will allow. I'm currently using the following decoders: Hornby standard, Hornby Sapphire, ESU Locsound, TTS Hornby, DCC Concepts Zen Black/Blue, TCS, Lenz, Zimo, Gaugemaster, Bachmann standard. Kind regards Iain.
Brilliant video mate, thanks for sharing. Have subbed to the channel and look forward to more! I’m starting a main layout build myself this month but have done a few garden running sessions in the meantime if you’re interested in having a look, all the best, Paul
Hi Paul, thank you , it's very much appreciated and you're most very welcome. Will check you channel out 🙂 Kind regards Iain.
Many thanks my friend, have uploaded a bit more garden running yesterday also, just before the rain arrived! All the best, Paul
What's the intro music? It sounds cool.
Hi, if you pop on to You Tube's own how to channel video guides, there they show where to find the built in music your channel dashboard. You Tube have now put up for all CZcamsrs a free to access and download music selection to use on editing videos. Massive selection to choose from, the music comes from there. Well worth checking out. Kind regards.
@@railandmodel Thanks!
Hi, where did you find the grill for the signals, I've been looking for ages but was unsure of size and type for 00 scale?, many thanks. Chris.
I've adapted a scalemodelscenery.co.uk kit for this purpose. Look for the LX210-OO modern track walkway grids kit, this was the kit i adapted for the signal grilles. (Also available in N gauge LX210-N). There is also a grilles pack within the range from Scalemodelscenery.co.uk as well, which contains a variety of different grilles which could also be used for the same purpose. Kind regards Iain.
@@railandmodel thankyou so much iain, I really appreciate your help, keep up your great work on the layout, all the best, Chris.
Great video I have actually had a curved canopy roof similar to York built for my OO Gauge layout let me know if you need any further details
Best
Chris
Hi Chris, thank you. I'll bear that in mind and very much appreciated, thank you 🙂👍
@@railandmodel You are very welcome if you check out my videos' it shows the curved roof and station which I have named as York. All the best, stay safe
Best,
Chris
Where do I get those roads from?
The road sheets, are part of the Modern Road Bridge Kit from Scalemodelscenery.co.uk The same kit is also available as a download for V.I.P club members on Scale Model Scenery's club site www.railwaymodellers.com
