There are only 3 traits that make the Venom Character 1 A human being who hates Spider-Man for ruining both his career and reputation and wants revenge. 2 An alien costume that it hates Peter Parker for the rejection of the bonding. 3 The Alien and the Human bond together to kill the very same man they both hate. This movie actually filled these 3 points for the character perfectly fine. But that’s obviously going to take a while The part during the fight between Spidey and Venom where part of the symbiote gets onto Spidey is a great example, if that was on him for more than a minute or so, he’d be wearing the black suit again, and would’ve been able to fight Venom MUCH more easily, his strength level would’ve been about the same as Venom’s.
Think it would be better if this was the end of the movie and in SM 4 Venom would be the main villain. Here Raimi could make a better analysis of Peter's dark side and close the Sandman storyline. So to speak the symbiote line here would better be two-part story.

This scene is a masterpiece it’s brilliant and way better then all of the new marvel movies combined. I only like the Raimi trilogy all others I don’t care.
The novel describes the suit as trying to control you. Like mental white noise that you kinda just slip into. Like you go on autopilot. Peter at one point has to purposely come out of it. Eddie when he starts getting covered actually submits rather fast and even opens his mouth to catch the symbiote and swallows pieces and drops.
I'm not religious and all of that but where the church bell causes The Symbiot pain it could just for thought symbolize how it drives demons and evil out from Peter similar to "Fantasia" where the church bell forced back Chernabog and his minions in "Night on Bald Mountain".
That was precisely the point. Sam Raimi asked that Venom's music theme be written as if he were "The Devil in the flesh." The suit was definitely a representation of a demon/Satan. The novelization of the film makes it even more clear when talking about how Peter and Eddie ending up at the same church was not a coincidence and how "God put the pieces in their proper places."
He had a spare red and blue suit in his closet. If you look in the scene when Peter was getting ready to suit up to go after Sandman/Flint Marko, he was deciding whether to wear the old red and blue that was hanging there or put on his new black symbiote suit that he had in the chest.
In the filming of that scene, a replica of the black suit was created, the difference is that that suit was made of a rubbery and thin material, but it had the same type of texture of the black suit, this was to make it easier to "break" the suit for Tobey, also if you notice, during this scene the suit does seem to be a real symbiote, but it is only because of the material that suit is made of

I love how Raimi made the venom transformation look incredibly painful and uncomfortable. In comics it just coats Eddie. But in this, its literally stretching his skin, pulling his body down, slipping into his orfices, and reshaping his teeth and nails. Eddie even starts retching in shock from how painful it is
I actually think he starts retching because the symbiote climbs into his mouth. It’s probably a combination of the two.

The part during the fight between Spidey and Venom where part of the symbiote gets onto Spidey is a great example, if that was on him for more than a minute or so, he’d be wearing the black suit again, and would’ve been able to fight Venom MUCH more easily, his strength level would’ve been about the same as Venom’s.

Think it would be better if this was the end of the movie and in SM 4 Venom would be the main villain. Here Raimi could make a better analysis of Peter's dark side and close the Sandman storyline. So to speak the symbiote line here would better be two-part story.

The novel describes the suit as trying to control you. Like mental white noise that you kinda just slip into. Like you go on autopilot. Peter at one point has to purposely come out of it. Eddie when he starts getting covered actually submits rather fast and even opens his mouth to catch the symbiote and swallows pieces and drops.

That was precisely the point. Sam Raimi asked that Venom's music theme be written as if he were "The Devil in the flesh." The suit was definitely a representation of a demon/Satan. The novelization of the film makes it even more clear when talking about how Peter and Eddie ending up at the same church was not a coincidence and how "God put the pieces in their proper places."

He had a spare red and blue suit in his closet. If you look in the scene when Peter was getting ready to suit up to go after Sandman/Flint Marko, he was deciding whether to wear the old red and blue that was hanging there or put on his new black symbiote suit that he had in the chest.
You will never unsee it but at 0:18 there’s dirt and a cut on the suit.
In the filming of that scene, a replica of the black suit was created, the difference is that that suit was made of a rubbery and thin material, but it had the same type of texture of the black suit, this was to make it easier to "break" the suit for Tobey, also if you notice, during this scene the suit does seem to be a real symbiote, but it is only because of the material that suit is made of
