There’s always someone that came here before me that loves this very niche thing I do and does a tutorial on it somewhere on the internet. Literally thought I was the only person that noticed and loved these candles from the Patronus lesson! And thank you for this!!!! They turned out gorgeous and exactly like Lupin’s.
This why I love your videos; even talented genius’s, like yourself, prove that things can go wrong, but it’s great you show us mere mortals, which is very encouraging. Great video, as always, the details are amazing and they came out super cool in the end 🥰💕
haha thank you so much Di, believe me I make just as many mistakes as anyone, but I am glad you can appreciate them and I think it is important to show that it is a learning process for me too :)
Oh my goodness, what an incredibly tricky project. I would have cried when I opened up the mold. Amazed that you got a pretty candle afterwards. You have an undefeatable spirit! :)
Haha it was pretty tedious and hadn't it been for wanting to post a video this week I would have just gone to bed and pretended the project never happened :'D I have now managed three candles, and want to make some resin ones that I can wire with some LEDs :) Thank you :)
Absolutely gorgeous! I could watch you sculpt all day. I have about a dozen spine candles of various types all around my home, but you're making me want to dig out my mold making supplies and make a few more. Haha! I hope you're both doing well, and thanks for another lovely video.
Thank you so much! haha I can imagine your candles being everywhere, but can we ever have too many? :D We're doing well thanks, hope you're fine too :)
LOVE THESE! I've been wanting to make these since seeing them in the movie! Great job!! One day I will be brave enough to give it a try. This has definitely inspired me! Getting wax the right hardness for candle, especially tapers, is tricky. Too soft will sag, and too hard usually drips too much. I like that you show your fails. Helps show people we artist/crafters don't always get it perfect the first time. But, we see it through. :)
Thank you so much! I hope you give them a go sometime! I think I'll cast some in resin and turn them into candleholders as well, so I don't have to make a lot each year :) haha yeah, I learned that in a very messy way, it is candle wax all over the house at the moment :'D I think it is important to show that failing is a part of learning, so thanks for appreciating it! :)
I am so glad to see you again here 🤗 And you created something that I wanted to do for a long time, i love this candle and i allways dreamed about it. Now i know how can i make it on easy way. thank you and welcome back 💚 (Slytherin heart)
Thank you so much! You should totally give it a go! I think making clay with LEDs or as a holder saves on a lot of materials and time :) I'm gonna cast some in resin and hopefully wire them with some LED's as I don't want to cast candles forever :'D
Thank you! Yes, I thought about it, but really wanted to try to make candles :') But I will cast some in resin now and wire them up with some LEDs, so that they last longer :)
I've been wary of trying out silicone moulds, but I'd love to make this candle so I may have to give it a try! The end result looks beautiful, and thank you for sharing that soy wax is not a good choice; I probably would've went with it lol. Do you think you'll ever play around with colors/textures when you make more or keep them as close to the prop as possible? Hope you both are well!
Thank you so much! other soy waxes might work, but I have a feeling a lot of them are on the softer side. I think I'll definitely try to test around to figure out different looks. Thank you!

I felt your anguish as you peeled away the mould only for the candle to fall apart.... 😢😢😢😢 - But you did not let it beat you.... 😊😊🎃🎃
haha it was so painful, but knowing I had a personal deadline for the video, I just had to push through :') And I learned a lot, so that's good! :)

Ha! I know that face! It looked really good in the end. Not an easy casting at all. Nicely done. :)
haha I felt so defeated at one point there :'D Thank you :)
I know hot glue makes a good temp seal when creating a mold
I used a lot of hot glue on that mold :'D like A LOT
Can you make lucius malfoy cane wand
Would be a cool project to do, I'll put it on the ideas list :)
Loved it. Did you thought of making it out of polymer clay with a tealight on the top?
Thank you! Yes, I thought about it, but really wanted to try to make candles :') But I will cast some in resin now and wire them up with some LEDs, so that they last longer :)
