Why do I skip around the video sometimes? Because some people (rightly) have issues with people showing a video in its entirety in a reaction and not doing anything transformative with it. This is the best option I can think of. If I skipped a line, it's because I don't react to it very much. Either I don't find it AS funny, or there isn't much there to react to.
Still processing that Broly is a thing that actually exists in this series.

Bardock being a scientist is a reference to one of the dubs; part of the whole 'make goku more like superman' thing they had going.
Oh, I did know that. I just can't remember if TFS had ever made a joke about it in DBZA before. This movie might have been the first time.
+MozillaVulpix Well, the after-credits scene of "Episode of Bardock" had the soldiers call him "A brilliant scientist", followed by Bardock saying he was working on this "Fake moon thing". In the dub Kahavave is talking about, Vegeta actually says that fake moon technique was invented by Goku's father.

No, she skipped out the best parts of the *abridged* movie! Like the part when Vegeta says what Paragas did to the submissive aliens isn't "in-saiyan." And when the submissive aliens were trying to remember their safeword as Broly blows it up.
The pacing for the broly film is awful...the edits cuts and flashbacks are insane...that film didn't need to be longer than 60 minutes

There was a newspaper article that showed kids drawing their heroes and telling why. One of them drew Broly and said "His power is maximum."
Vegeta also mumbles it after his first fight with Zarbon, probably a reference to the same thing though.

they don't hate Broly, it's just that there's a lot about him and this movie (original) that doesn't work. As a kid I thought Broly was the coolest villain to date back then. But as I got older, I realized just how dumb his motivation is.

Movie deserves it. Of all their work, this movie is the one most designed to replace its counterpart.
The killing of Peragus could have been a joke-but they left it as it was so that people didn't have to do watch the entire Broly Movie.

Cooler didn't want revenge on Goku, he just wanted to kill him because he couldn't torelate the fact that a saiyan was able to beat someone of his own race. Bojack on the other hand wasn't even looking for something in the first place, he's just a sadistic fuck who only likes conquering and destroying every planet he finds, just like Frieza.
And Broly hates Goku because he suffers PTDS, and seeing Kakarot's face reminds him of all the bad things that happened to him the day he was born.

Pretty much. My favorite film from the originals has to be Bojack Unbound. It’s a great self contained movie and that transformation at the end. Oh lord. That music has haunted me for over two decades.

"[Bardock's] a scientist?" As far as TFS canon goes, yes. He's the one who came up with the "fake moon" concept (referenced in Episode of Bardock) that Vegeta used in his fight against Goku the first time. Don't know if that's true in the actual canon or not, but he seemed to be aware of it in Xenoverse 1, so I guess it's true?
Also even though it's non-canon, the whole "Broly's wife" thing brings a whole new perspective on Future Trunks's "Legendary/False" Super Saiyan state during the Zamasu arc.

I wish they understood that Broly just has massive PTSD and being reminded of Goku also takes him back to all the terrible things that happened that same day. It's not JUST the crying, the crying is simply a trigger for all that other stuff, like a war vet having a flashback.

Most people think, broly hates goku solely for crying. Thats not true. He hates everyone. The crying just makes him hate goku slightly more than he would normally. Also just because ptsd doesnt extend to human infants means nothing. Broly is a saiyan and was able to create a forcefield to survive a planets destruction a couple of hours later. Goku was supposed to remember his mission from when he was sent to earth, if it werent for his amnesia. And since that happened the same day, theres no reason for broly to not be able to remember.
Here, have my like. Finally someone who gets it Broly's story is not delved into much because it is a single movie. But aside from PTSD we also got to remember that paragus controlled his mind, never know just how much that effected Broly too, constantly being supressed for what appears to be years, he can't even trust his own father.
although all of these problems could be avoid if Broly hated Vegeta instead of Goku.
Oh definately, that would fix alot of problems, but you know, Vegeta isn't the main character sooo D:

Not because of Broly. But because I want to see Videl, 18, Mr.Satan etc etc. They genuinely have good moments at the start of those movies.
Bio-Broly also has my single favorite 18 moment in it. It's just two lines of dialogue, but I feel it just defines how far she's come from the Android saga.
I think “Scientist” is a call back to when vegeta created the artificial moonlight orb to turn into a great ape. He explains to Goku that his dad wasn’t very strong but was a “brilliant scientist” or something like that to came up with the technique.

I’d like to think that this abridged version is what ultimately gave Toei the idea to rewrite Broly’s backstory in actual canon. The timeline of the production certainly adds up and it could stand as one of those nice moments where the fandom has a direct impact on the franchise itself

I'm pretty sure the reason Broly has so much hype is because no one in any of the movies manages to deliver a more one-sided beat down to the heroes, with such a bullshit resolution. I love the movie, but it does have some serious flaws. Like "Hey, I know the 5 of us together at full strength couldn't scratch him while he was still warming up, but surely if we combine our half dead power against his full might, we can beat him!". The only worse finish was the out-of-nowhere dragon fist. And before anyone says it, no, Bojack wouldn't count, because he was only a threat due to Gohan not powering up until the end

I'm a full three years late, but the reason that worked is because Goku hit him in his video game boss weak point: the place where King Vegeta stabbed him.
Ripped a hole in him, so his "overflowing" power would tear its way out.
