I'd like to build upon the armor, I have a theory as to why they always hit his armor but never the fleshy bits of him that's exposed, the armor is quite complex inside as we've seen him working on it. So I like to think the armor supports a systems that shoots bursts of strong magnetic waves at incoming projectiles either to push them away from hitting him or to home them in to hit the armor dead on. It also supports mass-damping technology allowing him to fall from great heights and to be hit by giant animals and sustain minimal or no damage.
In the last season of Clone Wars Ahsoka is hit a few times by blasters and survives because she has mandolorian Armour, but it's looks like it's only in a few places so it makes me think it has more than just the beskar like you said.

So, follow-up question: You mentioned the real-life material Boron Carbide (I think it's spelled?) as having a very high specific heat capacity. Are there any feasible real-life armour materials that would have those properties while *also* retaining the properties of traditional armour materials that would be good for protecting against ballistic or kinetic weapons like bullets or swords? Hey Kyle, the "non-cannon" books mention that the Mandalorian helmets have a 360 degree view screen in them, also mentioned that its quite difficult to get used to. Maybe something to try to make and test like the Goku armor?
In your analysis I think you are right, and I will explain to you why. In Rebels season 4 we are introduced to the Imperial Anti-Beskar prototype weapon, nicknamed "The Duchess". This weapon takes advantage of all of the strengths you noted about Madalorian Beskargam, specifically the reflectivity, heat transfer and dispersal, and the mobility. The Duchess was an arc generator, which meant it wasn't light that could be reflected. The weapon was designed to have the arcs seek out beskar that made up Mandalorian armor and attack it directly without targeting, likely through some wavelength calibration. Once contacted the weapon would deposit enormous amounts of energy into the element, superheating it and vaporizing the warrior in the armor before disintegrating the armor itself.
Truly an elegant weapon.
And that's kinda like something from a fantasy book I read a while ago called the dwarves. In it, they end up making this magic armor that can basically fully resist any magic. But, the way around it, is someone just keeps attacking the armor wearer with magic that creates heat. And even though it doesn't hurt the armor any, in this case cause magic, in mando cause of reason stated in video, it would still raise the temp inside. So eventually, it just cooks the person inside it.
Aluminum is technically mithril a material resistant to magic. Alloys of aluminum can be strong.
@@michaelchaney2336 But aluminum has a way of... combusting if molten aluminum makes contact with wet squishy stuff.
Kevins favorite character from Star Wars is Jar Jar Binks... I can feel it.
Here I go
Whats wrong with Binks
@Max von der Marwitz: Well, you're right, but only about one particular Kevin, °đ€Ïż--FffAt>>
All hail Sith Lord Jar Jar, eaten by the Basilisk and erased from history as we know it.
If you look into the initial plans for jar jar, he actually is pretty cool. Just that he was hated so much after Episode one, that they changed the entire story. They even invented Doku, just to avoid making another jar jar movie.
But the initial story would have been a lot better and the reveal would have been a lot more intense than the "I'm your father" reveal in the originals. But because of the fan-outrage, they opted for a remake of the old story with new characters in a "history repeats"-trope, instead of giving us Sith-Lord Jar Jar as the true villain.
Imho, after all we went through with Jar Jar, having him turn out to be the villain would have been very satisfying.
But Jar Jar is a force-weilder and there is plenty of evidence in the movie. He can be seen using the force on multiple occasions, hinting towards the reveal. Jar Jars voice actor even confirmed that there were plans in that direction. There was literally system to the madness xD
@@liquidminds: I get that, but it still doesn't explain the racist stereotypes of the gungans and nemoidians.

Energy weapons alone are a really interesting topic, then you combine that with the iconic weapons/armor of the starwars universe and you somehow make it even better. Good work!
A point of order on your last concern, the inside of Din's helmet actually acts like a HUD with a full view of the entire frontal cone of normal vision. Potential spoilers for Chapter 10 (S2: E2) below:
*
*
*
*
*
*
As Grogu shows the Mando that the Frog Lady had left the ship, Din kneels down and we get his POV. It shows the residual heat left by the Frog's footsteps and cool temperature of the rest of the frozen landscape on Maldo Kreis. As his head turns to follow the trail, the entire screen flickers and shudders, indicating that what Din sees is actually what his helmet's camera's and sensors display to him. So he is not trying to look out of through the T-shaped black material on his helmet, it is more a stylistic choice reminiscent of a medieval knight's visage.
Mostly right. He can see through the visor if he gets hit by say an emp weapon. The T visor actually provides a lot of visual openness despite covering most of the face.
There's a reason maximus chooses the Helmet he wears in the gladiator it provides maximum protection without hampering his vision (and yes I know that's also just a movie but it helps to prove the point)
8:45 - Wait, so a good defence against beam weapons be to construct ships with spinning outer hulls?
I read a sci-fi series where large ships' armor was thick slabs of asteroid mounted to metal plates that could move around on a cage of rails, letting the ship move armor in the way of shots, and open gaps to fire through.
And if the armor was chewed up too much, and the ship survived the encounter, they could find more asteroids to slice up and make more sacrificial/ablative armor.
I thought it was a neat idea to beef up ships without going to powered shields like most sci-fi.
Hi Kyle, Great Episode! I have a question: We've seen that mandalorian armor has an electronic component. What would it be? How would a circuit help to increase the efectivity of an armor?
I've never seen any other channel go this deap with the roleplay and I love it
Hey Kyle.
Would the smelting and iron smithing process of the armor play a roll?
Such as if you make the metal harder vs softer would it change any of your parameters?

It's certainly implied that there's a skill involved with forging armour correctly out of Beskar.
@@HellbellyUK but my question is how those differences can change the outcome of the effectiveness in protection.

There is some kind of technological aspect to the armour, we see circuitry on the inside when mando takes it off. It's possible that it uses some form of energy dampening tech that would be required for space ships to function in the way they do.

Reminds me of my staff sergeant... "Of course recruits are material. They have a unique number and if one breaks I just order a new one."
There is also some kind of circuitry in the armor as well. I havenât looked for a cannon reason for this, but it was clear in season one that it is in there.
Embedding boron carbide particles into a metallic structure could be useful. I mention this is a way to possibly make use of its thermal properties and rigidity while maybe reducing the weight of armor. Ceramics can be quite dense if I recall.
So... the ideal hand-to-hand fighting style for someone wearing Beskar armor would be Capoeira? =D

This is the way.

4:52 *Vsauce theme starts playing*
3:40 âeither laseror plasmaâ the RPG system says it is crystal shards at super high velocities
The inconsistency of canon says it's space magic. >D
I may not understand much of this, but it is so interesting to watch and listen, and the parts I do understand keeps me engaged
Another reason that it is so good(that is completely fictional at least for now) is an inertial dampening technology. This technology, while never explicitly stated, is probably there. It would be necessary to allow the people inside starships to exit hyperspace in one piece, due to the rapid deceleration that occurs. If it was implemented into bescar armour, it would take the energy from a blaster bolt and would be able to spread it out across the armour, lessening the amount of force in one spot.
