I finally head down to Little Improve Mississippi to Smitty's Super Service Station to see Damon Breland's amazing collection of Chuck E. Cheeses Pizza Time Theater & Rock-afire Explosion performers rock the house. This place is an amazing trip back to childhood and is bursting at the seams with 80's animatronic goodness. You'll want to watch till the end, trust me! Thank you all for supporting my show for its first 100 episodes, I truly appreciate it!

I wasn’t born during the decade but I have such a strong fascination over 80’s -90’s memorabilia / animatronics. This is just so cool and I wish to go here someday.

The 90s were a great time to be a kid. And the 2000s the last great time to be a teenager. And the 80s are the definition of retro awesomeness. You’re obsessed with the right decades, my friend.

I've always wanted to go here! And it would be really neat if both the CEC band and the RAE band did a song together.
I really truly enjoyed this. These were the CEC character animatronics I grew up with. They were so detailed and moved so well compared to the later versions. Thanks for this, now I want to visit Smitty's!
I was born at the tail end of Rockafire's lifespan, and grew up in a place that had no Chuck E. Cheese, so these dudes and the legacy the fans have curated have always been of fascination to me.
I've been to Wolmi Land theme park in Incheon, Korea - made the trek out there from Seoul specifically to see the Rockafire Explosion! Sadly they're not in the best of shape (at least they all moved) but it was an amazing experience. Apparently it's the band that used to belong to Chris Thrash, who was one of the protagonists of the documentary.
One day I hope to make it to Smitty's, or at least see the RAE that's in Vancouver! Not sure how many CEC's have animatronics in Canada...
the one in Mississauga still has them. i'm pretty sure it's also the unique road stage they talked about at some point in this video!

I have to go here one day. I never got to go to Showbiz Pizza, but I've been to Chuck E Cheese alot, and I had a birthday party there when I turned 4 in the 90s, and I remember it fondly

The Balcony Pizza Time Players show was the mk2 Animatroncs for PTT after the original Portrait show. Those Cyberramics were refit as part of CU for the Road ,1,and 2 stage shows where the crawl was removed and they renovated to match the concept chosen for the 3 stage.

i love your channel man, ive been hooked on this rock afire explosion stuff for like 3 years now and got re-interested in it recently like a month ago. im mad young and obviously havent seen these in person, always trying to go. My chuck e cheese recently got remodeled and it like sucks now. it was some sort of studio c stage

Also word on the street is that Aaron sold the creative engineering building so it'll be interesting to see if he moves the whole setup to somewhere else in it's entirety or has one heck of an auction either way you're in for a great tour I'm certain!

That was Smitty's owner, Damon's idea, he thought it was a really great song for the end and once I listened to it I had to agree and a little bit of a sound mixing later I was able to have it at the end. ☺️

To see this today we used to have 2 CEC’s in South Dakota we now have 1 but they never had a full stage it was a studio C I need to see if I can get to smittys this summer how much does he want for pay
There's no charge, it just depends on if he is available for tours at the time of your trip. If you just shoot him an email off of his website he'll answer you back 😃

Can't believe I get to go there for my birthday this August!! If it's okay to ask, how long were you there? And did you get to pick any songs or did Damon choose randomly or?
I was there for 3 or 4 hours but I was also shooting the video. And I let Damon pick when I was there but I'm sure he'd be happy to take some suggestions.
Cool! I hate how far away a drive it is for me, im lucky to live near the Rockford Location (The oldest CEC stage with a lot of history to exist till this day). You should stop by sometime! I have a vid uploaded to see what to expect!
It's the famous rocker stage that he was talking about in the video, last of its kind. It's the first to have any full-body, and a redesign of the General Store stage, which never got released.
Though, it isn't doing too well, and it is very quiet.
I am planning on going there in the first week of May and I'm hoping it's still set up cuz I would love to see it!

@@SetsStreetsEats Unfortunately, it's gone. I grew up with it, and, I still stand by that this was the highest quality CEC stage ever made. Once when I was little went to a 2 or 3 stage out of town, and I didn't like it. Growing up with the house was awesome

2. What happened to Chuck E's old cyberamic snout with the larger cheek dimples before you replaced it?
I've seen the band board. It's huge. I would have had absolutely no where to put it.
This snout is still a 1981 original. Since they were all hand made slightly different variations occurred.

21:40 - 21:50 I do know that a very talent costume maker called Harold Goldbrandsen (under his company Fantasy Forest) built all of the early PTT animatronics (and all the early Mascot costumes as well) from the very first store until around 1980 or 81.

I really like the first stage show of Chuck E Cheese compared to their newer stage shows they started doing.

I grew up in the early 2000s, long after showbiz was gone. I didnt like chuck e cheese as a child, was terrified of animatronics but as an adult with a passion for character design and an appreciation for animatronics/mechanical gadgets i absolutely love the Rock a Fire Explosion characters. Specifically Rolfe DeWolfe, hes so cute. My region has Marvins Marvelous mechanical museum but the few chuck e cheese animatronics they had were in pretty sorry shape and not moving last i was there.

Is there away those animation cels could be preserved online by digital scans?
Oh I'm certain they can and will be preserved and saved digitally, but the actual cell itself will keep decomposing and eventually be gone. They are a very cool artifact of how things used to be made. I really enjoyed seeing them.

@@SmittysSuperService This has got to be one of the rarest commercials to ever exist! Hopefully it's found one day because I'm sure any PTT fan would want to see it! So let's just hope one day it's found, and it surfaces to the internet. We have to spread the word about it because it's so interesting!
