First dudes like Gombe is AMAZING, all while standing at the border…just outside of Gombe
It's simply a way to show that he is infact in the area. Is Gombe a place recognisable to you without the sign that says "Welcome to Gombe"?
"I made it to Gombe on a Tuesday, and that is good, because the locals said the r*pe gangs don't show up until Friday."
I have a friend who travels all over the world for national security jobs. Just because you don't see the danger doesn't mean it's not there. This guy is being irresponsible by telling people they should go as well, like he can personally ensure they'll be safe.
This place in Gombe, Nigeria is more safe than some of the other states that was termed as (relatively) safe on that Nigerian map. The more further north you go the uncertainty with safety increases. However, people who want to travel "casually" would 1. never go to places like this, 2. would not take a single video as proof.
The guy simply gave his opinion.
natural selection
I lived in Ashgabat Turkmenistan for work a couple years ago. It was a wild place. Super safe cause nobody was allowed into the country and the people fear the govt. People there were some of the nicest people I’ve ever met, but yeah it’s essentially North Korea without nukes. All white cars, the city lights up like Vegas at night with most buildings unoccupied, the country has a strange obsession with Akon, they have mosques but everyone I met wasn’t religious and loved drinking, and they think Borat is the funniest movie ever. I could go on and on, and it was actually the first country I’ve been to outside the US, so talk about culture shock 😂
Akon? You mean the singer Akon?
@@Blashmack the one and only. He would come and put on shows for the President there and they’d televise it on the state run media. The locals all thought this black guy I worked with was Akon, simply because he was black and one of the only to ever be in Turkmenistan. Good times
@@brooks9184 Hah, awesome. I've noticed people from ME countries REALLY love some artists like Akon. Like have them as their phone background and play them on full blast in malls and random stairwells.
@@Blashmack yeah it reminded me of Kim Jong Uns love of Dennis Rodman, just so random and behind in times. I had Turkmen friends that also loved Borat to the point where they could quote the whole movie and would use it to make fun of Kazakhstan. They loved randomly stealing American entertainment characters too, like if there was a grand opening for a restaurant it wasn’t uncommon to see SpongeBob, Spider-Man and discount Mario dancing to Akon at the grand opening. It was so funny 😂
'He's got such a positive attitude!" yeah, he sure is positive of something now....
The final episode of this series is going be those *adventurers* on their knees with a room sized flag nailed to the wall behind them and guys with balaclavas reading into a camera.
Have you seen the video going around where a bunch of these guys have died? It's a girl doing the voice over of those peoples videos, and they're like "hey welcome to Haiti, today were going into the village of blah blah blah" then she chimes in and is yeah he died. Over and over
Nice way to round out the podcast.
Inshallah 😂
Tool fuckin rules. Just had to say that.
@@MsFuqyu I second that 😍
I used to work in a case ih assembly plant that built the huge self propelled cotton pickers. We built a run of them once that were being sold to Turkmenistan. We couldn’t even fully assemble them, any lights or mirrors or pretty much anything that could be easy ripped off and stolen had to be left off and put in a big crate and shipped separately. We even had to put locks on the body panels that shrouded the engine area so it would at least slow them down from completely ransacking the machines before they got to wherever exactly they were going.
Can't wait to see his videos in Yemen or Syria next. Obviously in the most safest towns with a designated tour guide/body guard.
“You western pigs are just misrepresenting these poor poor people, oh I need to tell their true story” 💥💥💀💀
2024 is my year to get into trauma tourism so videos like these are super informative. I'll send postcards from Marble City!
Ya the dudes perspective is equivalent to being like “ya I met OJ and he was a super sweet guy, don’t know what all the shit talk is about”
I love that they've added Nedav to the cool guy wall.
I sure hope they don’t add drew to it n
Bro we had so many people in this world, and they’ve gotten so bored, that they’ve convinced themselves that they need to go somewhere that no one has ever heard of and prove it’s not dangerous. 😂😂
That’s what you get when information becomes easily accessible and spontaneous for dumb people 😂 used to have to go to the library and read multiple books or encyclopedias 😅
This segment would be perfect for Kurt Caz. I think Tom would love him!
🇿🇦 boy just going from one ghetto to the other. It’s wild
I was born and raised in Mexico. I lived a normal life, went to school and to work. Never had any major incidents. But we'd occasionally hear about the family friend or cousin that got kidnapped, murdered, disappeared or extortioned. Just because you see it doesn't mean is not there. And yes, if you're American you're even more of a target because for them, you're rich. In Mexico the median salary is $500 USD a month so $5k can be a lot of money.
You guys need to look up a dude named Drew Binsky. He has been to EVERY country and goes to all these dangerous citys. Not sure if he is on the Tok but defenitly on here. You will get a great laugh I promise.
I used to watch his vids when he was still traveling while I was overseas, anything in particular that was cringe he did? 😅
@@Timbo360who the fuck asked
I'm just here to see Tom freak out at the airport staff.
I’d visit any of these place over downtown LA
of course you wouldn't
Downtown LA is a magical place
Bruh, there’s people dying in the streets in LA lol… that’s NOT the danger they are talking about. I keep thinking this video will end by him getting tackled by a bunch of locals
Very RARELY a local will simply just attack (at least in Nigeria). Unless there is actual huge payoff to doing so and they are actually criminals. Many are easily paid off with small amounts of money and are really just looking for a good time with the foreigner. But well there are places even I as a Nigerian wont go in Nigeria, but the brave do.
If I challenged the Mommies, could I be promised hate from wherever? Lol
I can relate. I have the dubious pleasure of going to Haiti next month. Although I am not doing it to prove anything to anyone, unlike purely thrill-seeking travellers like this one (which is fair). But that won't make it any less intense or potentially kidnappy, I fear.
Whatcha goin for? That sounds interesting! But kidnappy lol
@@kayleighgroenendal8473 Bizarrely, it's an art event! These things blossom at the most unlikely places.
@@nbvw3Wish you safe travels. I've recently seen some of the most vile, violent and outright depressing gang-related footage from Haiti.
Dang, I"m missing out on Gombe 😆
a reporter here in belgium made a travel program about the least travelled destinations ( reizen waes) and when he went there all of a sudden the entire capital went silent. nobody was seen there. the borat factor was real
1:00 if you set playback to .25% speed, you can see black men with AK's in his cell phone screens reflection
Meh, did you live your life based on the early 2000's Terror Threat alert color coded level lol? Some people don't live in fear and will actually take the risk.
The dude is standing in the middle of a road. I hear Pyongyang is nice this time of year.
The Gates of Hell is a place that has been on fire for years.
Tom and Christina need to interview Lord Miles of Afghanistan
Looks better than San Francisco
Videos like this make it easier to leave people when they get kidnapped. I wouldn't have a guilty conscience at all.
People should check out these channels who do these sort of trips. Its a comedy show when you try to predict how these guys are going to disappear in the same day they arrive to some of these places. Kurt Cuz is one to look at, I think a lot of people who are in their 20's are high on going to these places because of channels like Kurt's. I don't hate the guy but that dude is asking for a bad day like none one else.
Well he wasn't in the town yet
I love being able to laugh at this bc I’m exactly that kind of person having taken trips to Ethiopia+ Russian mining town in the arctic+ some other seemingly sketch locales recently….whereas Hawaii and Paris etc bore the shit outa me….say what you want about semi sketch towns in Eastern Africa….drinking strange drinks w locals in remote little known villages in East Africa or Central Asia is anything but boring, Turkmenistan def on the list!
Do we get to see the aftermath of his “disappearance “ later?
Please show them the Lord Miles Story
7:36 nastasha romanenko from mgs
Try it out
This guy has a serious case of the Garth Brooks face. Like the “serve me fake beer like I’m your king bc my shell corporation paid for my hippie progressive travel lifestyle and I could buy your town”
Can we please have Jesse Lee Peterson on ymh please?!
he's just a piece of cardboard
Great accent. You sound like Borat's wife.😅
I think rape is like part of their culture in Nigeria... just sayin
Exactly.
Don't hate on rape. To each his own
I think thats your culture bud. Keep it there.
At some point he is going to go apply to go somewhere and the reviewer is going to know who he is.
Hate From the Marble City.
So, what’s going on mommies??
I actually get the whole Banning dogs thing, they are smelly and annoying
Weird when someone can google without step by step directions
Turkmenistan is like the backrooms of countries.. that's a nope for me Bob.
You found a couple news articles. Imagine the articles you find about the usa. Lol
Yeah...except those types of articles are rarely the top search results if u just search the country name. Americans are so god damn clueless. They think the rest of the world is just like them, just slightly diff food and language. You are a target in at least half the countries, just by nature of being an American... with people that just outright hate your guts, or want to either rob you, scam you, or kill you. Scam/Rob at a minimum. Most will smile to your face, while behind your back someone is pulling money out your pocket...that's if you're the lucky one. Unlucky one's find out real fast why normal people don't travel to these places without protection, and that they should've been more careful.
Hahah literally. My first time in the US, I read the news a couple of hours after I landed and some guy already shot his girlfriend OUTSIDE in Pittsburg. Bruh.
How much you think the government of Gombe paid him for that ad ?
lol they really couldnt care less about what a bunch of people on CZcams think about Gombe.
An adventurous American? I like this guy! 🤘🔥
I mean, were they trying to be funny here or just making an interesting video..? YMH was the tots back in the dayy
I love how tom makes fun of people for being stupid and doing dumb shit, when he Over Dosed himself with GHB, what an Idiot.
Christina should of been in Bert's dumb movie....whoops I mean cinema
Can’t figure how I went from liking to hating Tom and his wife…
Did Christina really clown on the dude saying hes going to show Turkmen people and seconds later says she has no clue about Turkmenistan? 😂
Travel guy is unbearable and disingenuous.
I applaud this guy for getting out there and experiencing things outside the usual, also kind of embarrassing that U.S. passport holders is only 36% of the population.
An appropriate comparison would be asking how many Europeans leave Europe. USA is massive.
Lots to see here without leaving. Also being able to afford to travel and take a lot of time off to travel abroad is a privilege. You come off as smug and elitist.
I’ll leave. Wanna pay for my passport and trip?
@@zseftoncorrect. Most western Europeans go to Greece or Spain, stay by the pool and eat the same food they eat at home.
@@zsefton Europe is a collection of countries each with their own culture. The U S. Is a collection of states which many are interchangeable. Granted this country is fairly young compared to many countries around the world.
They talk like if you didn't Google USA. You wouldn't find an absolutely horrible thing that happened any day
These two ain’t been funny since pre Covid
stop the GOMBE hate-propaganda !!!
He dead
"this is from the UK government". Oh, the entire united kingdoms government?
Yeah what else would it mean lmao
Correct
Love ymh but they’re coming off as real close minded in this one. Plus they’re not being funny.
You know you don't have to like everything they do right? Like you can just not like it and move on without the bitching
I think as a fan you can you still comment on things you don't like
For sure u don't travel and u probably smoke 2nd press nope 3rd press
Be close minded. These people are mental and thirsty for views.
Mommy
i dont think he even went inside the city limits and just stood on the other side of the border
If you watched his video you would have seen that he actually visited the town.
Shout out to Hanes
