- John Deere 450C Bulldozer 1976 Chronicles | It shut off...bleeding fuel system in summer heat| Ep 18
After it ran fine yesterday, I made it 200 yards and it shut off again.
I can see you are discussed with it .Walk away and burn a fatty or drink a cold one and then treat it as a problem that you will overcome even if it takes some time. Imagine how bad our grand kids will have trying to restore a 2020 John Deere or Cat 50 years from now . Don't ever give up ,you are so close to having it perfect. I always keep my fuel tank fuel so no air can cause rust . I have watched many videos on your project and enjoyed them all. I am twice as old as you and happy that some of your generation still wants to keep these great overbuilt machines alive.
Hi John! Sorry for the delayed response, this is not my primary CZcams channel so I only check in every once In awhile. Thanks for your comments, I am finding a lot of value in them and appreciate the support! I did finally get this thing lined out and we have put about 15 hours on it with 0 issues...it was all fuel tank issues! Nothing but sludge! I think I have a video up showing me cleaning it out.
Check inside fuel tank. You will proably find trash or water in bottom of fuel tank. Floating around.
Yup. If you keep following the episodes up to like episode 29 now...that's exactly what it was! haha
Good job .... These little 450s are great machine , just a little finicky sometimes . The more you work on it the more you learn . Stay positive . Keep moving .
Thanks so much for the positivity and tips Dale! If you are interested in any updates on this is will be on my other channel JOURNAL 82
Hey dude bro you might have to check in each other sealinders of the motor and transmission for anything else wrong with it and see what it is going on in there for right now
Start at the sediment bulb
Mine had rust in the tank and would do this. It has a inline filter on the bottom of the tank. I ended up having to pull the tank and cut a hole and clean it. I put a secondary inline filter in I can see now. It was a bitch but haven’t had any problems with it now
Same thing fixed mine as well. Nothing but rusty sludge!
Mine had a small shut off for fuel under seat ended up had to put a bigger shut off old one had real small hole for fuel was getting plugged with rust new one had bigger hole so the trash would go to the filter just kept changing filter
I've had 450c for 30 years
Did you change the fuel filter Check for rust in the fuel line, blow the fuel back into the tank!
Put your fuel cap on. It's a pressurized system
Sounds like a bad fuel solenoid they tend to get hot and shut down when they go bad it’s on top of the fuel pump looks like yours had a blue wire
Half your problem is you can't leave your damn phone alone
No, 100% of my problem was sludge in the fuel tank, you prickk.
lol I was thinking the same
Ok or a very very very bad wire rings system.
You ain't getting fuel. You can crank it for years it won't start without fuel.
Oh ok or a very bad fuel pump system into it and a very bad battery and a very bad air filter and a very bad oil filter.
Ok or it might be have a bent push rods and a very very very bad distributor and a bad starter and a very very bad spark plugs and a very bad rod bearing and a very very bad carburetor and a bad camshaft and a very bad oil and a very very bad water pump.
