NEW ANIME POLL UP!!!
Haikyuu's influence on Japan's high-school volleyball was HUGE. Thousands of kids signed up to play volleyball, turning it into a national phenomenon. It was so powerful that during the Olympics 2020 held in Tokyo the first Haikyuu OP was played during the Japan volleyball matches. So... yeah, I think it might be worth checking it out :D

Sam, if you’re looking for the “drama” and the interpersonal relationships of the team members and their rivals / other teams, Haikyuu will be right up your alley. That’s literally the entire show + hype af volleyball
Haikyuu probably has some of the best, if not the best, character and relationship writing in modern animanga. With a cast that consists of more than 100 characters, you don't expect to care about even half of those people but somehow, Haikyuu manages to do it super well. There's a reason why it spurred so many people over the world to play volleyball no matter their age and experience.
You’re right! I came in not really caring at all about volleyball, and came out wanting to play the sport. This show, while about volleyball, focuses heavily on the characters and their relationships. It’s an awesome anime that I’d totally recommend:)
haikyuu may be the only anime that i watched that isn't using superpower or exaggerate techniques. It's a pure volleyball with a hardship and friendship bond. this show brings so much laughter and tears to me. My comfort anime all of time 🫶
Haikyuu is my comfort anime, its geniunely such a fun time and i adore how you can tell the love the creator has for the game, the way they develop the story along with the characters is soo satisfying to see
I love haikyuu so much I watched reactions from Volleyball Coaches (Coach Donny), and Olympians (Sarah Pavan). They offered even deeper insight into this show and how legit the strategy and depiction of player headspace is. This series now joins the likes of Hajime No Ippo, Slam Dunk, Touch, as one of my greatest sports animes of all time.

Its a bit more complicated with the liberos. They have a different colour so the referees know that they are allowed to switch with a player (often the middle blockers) more than once per set. Meaning they can substitute more often. They can also dig the balls upfront. They are restricted in other ways, like not being able to set balls upfront or jump attack. Volleyball is actually quite complicated. Being forward means just, that you are allowed to jump at the forward zone (3metre zone). You are free to help out the defence.
The voice cast in this show is packed with stars!
Coming from die hard Slam dunk fans ,haikyuu is no doubt best sport anime series

Haikyuu is one of the sport anime that can truly makes us feel the passion of sports. It’s like we’re watching the real match. I recommend you guys to watch it. It’s really good!
Haikyuu isn’t just my fav sports anime, but also one of my all time fav anime in general
I watched Haikyuu when it first came out (2016), I am playing volleyball since 2018. Nough said. it took me 2 Seasons to start a new sport. (one of the Best choices of my life honestly, did a lot to my physical health and confidence so thanks haikyuu)
Yay for Hypekyu!! One of the best sports anime EVER! Very wholesome, so many great characters, very well written and with some of the most impressive character development you'll see ever!! VERY funny too. This show does incredible job introducing Volleyball to people who never even heard of the sport, even pro athletes who reacted to the series commented on that aspect
Haikyuu! easily the best anime sport ever. they're bunch of highschoolers who loves sport and want to achieveing their dreams! Its more than just abt volleyball
Haikyuu is such a hype and feel good anime. Like you said it makes you want to play volleyball
