I never comment on videos but I feel like I just need to say that I haven't been as inspired by anyone on CZcams as much as I have been watching your videos. Because of you, I decided to build a bench during quarantine and now I'm building a coffee table. I feel so empowered when I watch your videos and it always inspires me to get out of my comfort zone and do the things that scare me. So thank you for that.
I am 21 and before watching Isabel i used to dream about living in the wood like in my 40s or 50s. But when i saw her this young and this capable i found the way to realise my dream a few months ago

I'm chronically ill and slowly loosing strenght so in the last few months i havent been able to even go out for walks in the woods anymore and your videos let me experience how great being in nature feels atleast thru a screen. I can totally relate to this. I have lyme disease and 17 months ago I woke up and could no longer walk. I'm just now slowly starting to be able to walk a bit but its been a very rough year and a half. I found Isabels videos shortly after I got really sick and its been healing for me as well. Interestingly, I read a study where they found that even just looking at pictures or video's of nature gives you negative ions as if you were in nature, so theres really something to it! I hope you can recover. Ozone therapy is what gave me my strength back...its a miracle therapy, I highly recommend it for people who are chronically ill (simply03 sells them). Also there is this off road wheelchair called "Not a wheelchair" that I have been longing for that can go anywhere except beaches and you can hike again with them. They are pricy ($5k) but I'm thinking of fundraising for one or doing their lottery for it since they do give away some every year. I long to be out in nature unrestricted again. Sending hugs!
The most annoying thing about feelings is that when we were young, we were really happy about so little things that don't feel like anything when you grow up. Feelings of euphoria, pure joy and excitement about something as ordinary as going out when it's raining. You still seem to experience those things for such things and that's why your videos make us happy too.

But is this the work-product from somebody working a food co-op job and trying to grow her own food while working many many construction projects at her Washington site...or does she hire a full-time editor? - New work spaces, sheds, etc. being constructed. Lumber and supplies for building is pricey? Where did funds come from? Not the income from a Wenatchee food co-op source. - Good quality power tools, battery powered and grid. That equipment isn't cheap. - Cats cats cats. Pets get expensive. They look good for cuteness and value projecting. Hmmm - Two air tickets to Scotland plus luggage fees. Hmmm - Landing in a sweet (and sizable!) "cottage" to settle into for "several weeks". - An expensive van in good-shape purchased in Scotland and completely converted....while having the time to explore much of the country. The timing, the money, the accomplishments so quickly. - She claimed in several previous videos the van was "purchased in a condition that was unlivable and uninhabitable", then landed in a lovely cottage for weeks while "working on the van conversion". Complete lie. The finished van was purchased from John Duncan in fabulous condition. Isabelle and Logan's "three-week conversion" involved only ripping out a finished ceiling and purchasing tongue-in-groove pine board to help her weave a false "we-worked-hard story". People are being hurt by Isabelle; the original creators of the recipes she's plagiarized, and the work performed by other she and Logan take credit for. Other people are being hurt by accepting Isabelle's story as authentic, thinking that they'll attempt the same, with an expectation that hard-work and patience is all that's needed, when in fact that's completely false. Isabelle's story is propelled by a deep well of out-of-sight financial backing that helps propel and maintain her "story". That lie will hurt real people who are looking for change. I was so taken in at first with her hard-work success story. I loved her narrative. Now everything appears to be a carefully crafted and youtube-monetized illusion. It appears Isabelle is an intercontinental fraud. Who's the real Isabelle? I feel like a chump. Kinda butthurt and kinda pissed.

The lanolin in the sheep's wool makes them waterproof plus they are wide and short bringing their center mass lower to the ground thus making them very resilient during a storm.

So it's been 4 years since I've been back to Scotland, where I grew up, and this is really keeping me going till Summer when I finally return. I get to see my home through this, so thank you! Also, highly recommend Glen Coe for some stunning beauty. The most beautiful place I've ever been, definitely. It has a lot of really nice hikes up there too! Camping there and watching the sun set over the snow capped peaks is honestly Angelic. ♥️♥️♥️
I'm 51 years old and loved what you said about remaining positive, it's so hard not to let negativity take over but it makes it a lot easier when you share your thoughts and feelings on this Isobel and we in turn start to feel less isolated! Maybe you're just making assumptions about this "rags to riches" thing but I've honestly always had the impression she has had help from her family. I watched one, couldn’t watch it all posted a week ago, then watched what she said soon after you posted this video. First, I’m a HUGE fan of yes, your choice of lifestyle but my point of message is, I’m largely a fan of yours because of your spirit and soul. See, I live with ALS, I’m a 50 year old women with a similar spirit to live free, with an abundance of love, outdoors and good food… I watch you BECAUSE YOU HEAL my soul every morning feels like Therapy watching you, irregardless of a “Tiny home,” “a van friend “ all the points JC is trying her best in her ugly behaviour. I learned a long time ago yes, transparency is key, it’s an easing free way to live and lights up our spirit and soul! Also be unattached, make no disempowering meaning of ourselves by putting power to others opinions or judgements and just keep being ourselves, which you are radiantly doing!! Yes, I’m the viewer and I can only interpret what I see, but as I live out my terminal illness I’m 100% clear, your spirit and soul is my healing! You are NOT deceiving me and many many others! Bothies are awesome! Have spent a lot of my younger years exploring them. They used to be part of the "Mountain bothies association" I don't know if that still exists. It is custom to leave any supplies you can spare or exchange something for anything you use, this means there is always some emergency food or supplies for those who may need it. I remember swapping a whole box of dried egg powder for a real onion... after a week of dry rations, an onion was just bliss. You don't usually get people dropping in in the middle of the night, unless they were delayed by weather or poor planning. You may find yourself sharing with a couple of sheep though if someone forgot to latch the door.
Isabel, the truth shall set you free! With truth comes the positivity you speak of. Owning your mistakes and acknowledging them instead of continuing to ignore them will also bring only positive things. Be strong, be truthful, be more than ungrateful lies and deceit....and for goodness sake, please give credit where credit is overdue for your van build, girl. You'll feel so much better about yourself and be able to live the words you speak...and raise your vibration so you don't have to keep up the facade. Do the right thing and peace be with you.
The winter in Scotland has been mild so far. There's been a few storms, but it's been mostly mild temperature wise. 60mph winds are nothing unusual ion the islands in winter. You should have asked for the wind direction and parked the van head on when you left it to head for the bothy. Skye is beautiful but very busy in summer. Many other places to visit in Scotland, you need a few months to get a flavour, not just a couple of weeks. Good that you did not giveaway the name or location of the bothy. They are primarily emergency shelters, or should be. And you should always take a tent if you are visiting popular bothies as they can be full of people.
When you were walking in that storm, I kept expecting the wind to pick you up and for you to fly! Wow! That was incredible! Yes, positivity and spreading love. That’s how I like to live my life. It’s also why I enjoy following you. ❤️

Hi Isabel, it’s lovely to see you back out in nature, adventuring with Logan! I hope you can both find warmer weather soon. I just wanted to touch on something in regards to positivity - I agree with you that it’s important not to stay in spaces of hurt/anger/jealousy etc, but it’s also imperative to provide space for yourself and others to process difficult circumstances and emotions that some would label negative. In actuality, there are no negative emotions - they are all simply feelings and they all serve a purpose. Positivity is wonderful but it becomes very toxic when we tell people (or ourselves) that they cannot experience uncomfortable emotions in our presence. The only way to truly move into a positive space is to process the uncomfortable emotions and associated traumas. We need space to do that and so do our loved ones. It can be hard to go into that place of deep vulnerability with people when they are hurting (again, or even ourselves) but that is where relationships absolutely flourish and strengthen. So… all this to say we get to positivity by fully processing difficult emotions/circumstances and holding space for others to do the same. No one can be fully positive all the time and it’s dangerous to expect that from anyone. That being said, I wholeheartedly agree with you on not making a long term home in places of unrest. The goal should be to process and move forward as a stronger, more well rounded human being.💜
I 100% agree with what you (well worded) say. Yes, it is absolutely ok and should be normal if someone is going through sad or negative moments - What I see critical is those who bring up negative comments/feelings and want to impose this negative attitude to others saying/implying he/she should not be positive but simultaneously blame those for “toxic positivity” who don’t follow them in their negativity. @Kengelina I think what Isabel is addressing is all of the havoc that is going on in our world today and how we shouldn't let all of the turmoil draw us into dark places or a dark negative mentality. If you'll notice Isabel never addresses any current events. It is as if she exists in an alternative universe of peace, calm, tranquility, kindness and mindfulness. Where there is no C🌀vid, mandates, politicians, inflation, war, racism, sexism, ageism, homelessness etc... She doesn't even feature many other people in her vlogs. Just she and her man in vast landscapes of beauty. I suppose that's why we love her. She takes us all away from the real world...for a few minutes of peace.
@@chrystallee5528 I think everyone is different. Many people cant find solace in watching someone they know is lying to them, even if it looks nice and relaxing. I find it triggering, so I am no longer relaxed. In fact, for me I find that it reminds me more about what I dislike about the world, what I am trying to get away from.

Welcome to the UK. We have had about 5 of these storms in a row this year. 60-70-80-90mph gusts nearly every night for weeks. An interesting thing is our storms are not 50miles across and last half an hour. Our storms are 3000+ miles across and last days and days.
Watching you and Logan share this amazing adventure I thought about how when you both are older you will remember this time with such joy . You will be so very glad that you did this and that you had a partner to share it with that cares about you and enjoys many of the same things that you do. It feels like you guys are so good for each other . This is a wonderful time in your life, don't let negative people or their comments invade your spirit and bring you down. Your ability to travel and experience life with such gusto is something that so many people never get to do.....cherish this and try to hold on to joy, happiness and the beauty of life !!
Addressing the negative things is also a good way to move on past them. Taking responsibility is important for being able to release negativity. If you keep it in then it continues to manifest and gets worse. Pretending the negative isn’t there and ignoring it doesn’t make for a more positive feeling. Depends on perspective i suppose right? Dealing with things and accepting them is much harder than pretending they haven’t happened. Responsibility is hard.

I struggled a little bit with the end part because it feels quite reminiscent of Toxic Positivity (which is typically well intentioned), and that can leave people including ourselves feeling unheard, minimized, and unresolved. There is probably a good conversation to be had about privilege as well, but I appreciate this lens you’ve brought Lacey. At the end of the day, it’s important to assess whether or not negativity from others or ourselves is coming from a place of good faith where a legitimate conversation is to be had, or piling on for the sake of enjoying hurting someone. Thank you for sharing your story Isabel, it takes great courage to open your life up to the world this way. I hope that you continue to take care of yourself throughout this process.

The last couple videos you mentioned several times how cold it is which is baffling to me because when you lived in the mountains you took a bath in a frozen stream. It can’t possibly be that cold in Scotland when you got in a frozen stream with snow all around you. Does anyone else know what I’m saying?
for a battery to function, it needs positive and negative. same for humans. Negative allow us to see what needs to be fixed. Isabel you need to dress warmer. Snow pants and insulated boots would be a good start. Everything should be wind and water proof. When I was an EMT-I I took a wilderness survival course and watching you guys was scary. I lived in Scotland for two and a half years. I saw all kinds of weather, from sunny in the 70F 's to 30F's and snowing. The year before I went to Scotland a ship recorded a wind speed of 110MPH. The ship was at anchor 60 miles inland from the North Irish sea. You see when a storm or hurricane comes up the east coast of the US. It can turn east off the coast of ME and is carried across the North Atlantic by the currents. It can hit Scotland and Norther England with the same force it did along our east coast.
that's not what gets views so she's not gonna do that. Hence why she hikes up the mountain in several feet of snow in a dress then get's really sick for a month and can't seem to figure out why

I really appreciated your discussion on negativity; I have seen time and time again that those who are always criticizing or complaining about their circumstances tend to remain within a negative mindset. I offer a lot of empathy to those, there are often valid reasons why they lean into negativity, but it can be exhausting to maintain optimism and kindness in such a harsh environment. Your gentle approach to life is contagious, I hope you know how deeply it is appreciated
I agree. Bring negative is a choice. In difficult times we need to move through those hardships for growth and transformation. Bring mindful is the key. We also need to understand Universal Law . But as humans we have to be careful of spiritual escapism and at the same time and feel the feels. We can be happy and sad at the same time. Ohhh the human experience lol. I work with people who are struggling and feel stuck. That said we can only help those who want it. Asking is the first step for them . Blessings

This is a tough challenge for you both as the weather conditions, living space and culture require a whole reconfiguration of your skill set and way of being in the world. Sometimes it's easier to adapt to a culture that is very different to our own as we have no expectation of familiarity and every expectation of alienation. Migrating to a place that may seem to share cultural and geographical similarities but in reality are very different can be very tough. 20 yrs ago I drove from the west of Ireland to the Scottish Highlands in a single 13hr day in early May and was flabbergasted to discover on arrival that I could not readily buy fresh milk and that cans of condensed milk were a larder staple. The north of Scotland is beautiful but austere and the people are very, very different to the lowlanders. Take time to sample some of the Scottish city culture as you move south and I think Logan would enjoy a delve into the Scottish music culture (traditional, folk or contemporary) because Scotland has produced a wonderful legacy of music that has crossed the Atlantic and fused with many other folk traditions. Don't let the wind and rain drive you to the border with too much haste. BTW there is an interesting eco-village community called Findhorn in the Moray Firth which as off-gridders I think you would appreciate. Definitely worth a visit.

Yay for running at 0:31! Actually, you hiking in those valleys and climbing up those slopes does enough good for cardio and leg/torso muscle strengthening when done regularly (daily). Running adds to the crossfit, you may want to do intervals so as not to get bored, like a fast run until you cannot anymore, then, walking fast until you catch your breath and heart rate lowers, then, another interval sprint until you're out of breath, then immediately back to fast-paced walking, etc, for as long as you want. I run like this for since I was a teen, and retrorun too (running backwards) and have not felt better physically/mentally without stressing it. Keep that shape Isabel!

I can totally relate to this. I have lyme disease and 17 months ago I woke up and could no longer walk. I'm just now slowly starting to be able to walk a bit but its been a very rough year and a half. I found Isabels videos shortly after I got really sick and its been healing for me as well. Interestingly, I read a study where they found that even just looking at pictures or video's of nature gives you negative ions as if you were in nature, so theres really something to it! I hope you can recover. Ozone therapy is what gave me my strength back...its a miracle therapy, I highly recommend it for people who are chronically ill (simply03 sells them). Also there is this off road wheelchair called "Not a wheelchair" that I have been longing for that can go anywhere except beaches and you can hike again with them. They are pricy ($5k) but I'm thinking of fundraising for one or doing their lottery for it since they do give away some every year. I long to be out in nature unrestricted again. Sending hugs!

In my considered opinion, it appears that Ms. Isabelle is a complete fraud in almost every claim she makes, patreons or general subscribers, for purposes of monetizing her youtube channel. Success! With her numbers, she's doing well. She's got a good hustle going and and good for her. I'm not a hater, but I do hate the lie. IMO she's lying about her "hard-work, rags-to-I made-it" story, which is what I object to. I don't like being lied to. So don't be a clueless chump for her. My own red-flags started rising when Ms. Isabelle suddenly decamped her hard work-site at the Washington site to travel to Scotland and got set-up in some sweeeeeet situation right from go! None of the timing worked to accomplish so much from so little. Plus, everything else that makes no sense now viewed in hind-sight:
- Working some (close-to) minimum-wage job in a food co-op in Wenatchee for income.
- Expensive photography equipment consisting of many many video cameras, drones, editing equipment, etc.
- The time for Isabelle (or somebody) to spend a LOT of time editing the videos, which, let's face it, are beautiful and well crafted. But is this the work-product from somebody working a food co-op job and trying to grow her own food while working many many construction projects at her Washington site...or does she hire a full-time editor?
- New work spaces, sheds, etc. being constructed. Lumber and supplies for building is pricey? Where did funds come from? Not the income from a Wenatchee food co-op source.
- Good quality power tools, battery powered and grid. That equipment isn't cheap.
- Cats cats cats. Pets get expensive. They look good for cuteness and value projecting. Hmmm
- Two air tickets to Scotland plus luggage fees. Hmmm
- Landing in a sweet (and sizable!) "cottage" to settle into for "several weeks".
- An expensive van in good-shape purchased in Scotland and completely converted....while having the time to explore much of the country. The timing, the money, the accomplishments so quickly.
- She claimed in several previous videos the van was "purchased in a condition that was unlivable and uninhabitable", then landed in a lovely cottage for weeks while "working on the van conversion". Complete lie. The finished van was purchased from John Duncan in fabulous condition. Isabelle and Logan's "three-week conversion" involved only ripping out a finished ceiling and purchasing tongue-in-groove pine board to help her weave a false "we-worked-hard story". - She's got mad skills with carpentry and power equipment for an airy-fairy nature girl. Most likely trained and assisted by her contractor-father?
- She supposedly heats her "home" by wood, but as witnessed in the video she handles an ax like a noob. If she chopped a winter's-worth of wood as briefly portrayed in the videos, she wouldn't be walking around in good health. She'd be recovering from a severe ax-wound to her shins.
People are being hurt by Isabelle; the original creators of the recipes she's plagiarized, and the work performed by other she and Logan take credit for. Other people are being hurt by accepting Isabelle's story as authentic, thinking that they'll attempt the same, with an expectation that hard-work and patience is all that's needed, when in fact that's completely false. Isabelle's story is propelled by a deep well of out-of-sight financial backing that helps propel and maintain her "story". That lie will hurt real people who are looking for change.
I was so taken in at first with her hard-work success story. I loved her narrative. Now everything appears to be a carefully crafted and youtube-monetized illusion. It appears Isabelle is an intercontinental fraud. Who's the real Isabelle? I feel like a chump. Kinda butthurt and kinda pissed.

The lanolin in the sheep's wool makes them waterproof plus they are wide and short bringing their center mass lower to the ground thus making them very resilient during a storm.

See, I live with ALS, I’m a 50 year old women with a similar spirit to live free, with an abundance of love, outdoors and good food… I watch you BECAUSE YOU HEAL my soul every morning feels like Therapy watching you, irregardless of a “Tiny home,” “a van friend “ all the points JC is trying her best in her ugly behaviour.
I learned a long time ago yes, transparency is key, it’s an easing free way to live and lights up our spirit and soul! Also be unattached, make no disempowering meaning of ourselves by putting power to others opinions or judgements and just keep being ourselves, which you are radiantly doing!!
Yes, I’m the viewer and I can only interpret what I see, but as I live out my terminal illness I’m 100% clear, your spirit and soul is my healing! You are NOT deceiving me and many many others! It’s like nothing in your past experiences goes unused in your unknown endeavors, and that’s so handy, and good, and a blessing. May God be with you always.
Bothies are awesome! Have spent a lot of my younger years exploring them. They used to be part of the "Mountain bothies association" I don't know if that still exists. It is custom to leave any supplies you can spare or exchange something for anything you use, this means there is always some emergency food or supplies for those who may need it. I remember swapping a whole box of dried egg powder for a real onion... after a week of dry rations, an onion was just bliss. You don't usually get people dropping in in the middle of the night, unless they were delayed by weather or poor planning. You may find yourself sharing with a couple of sheep though if someone forgot to latch the door.

Isabel, the truth shall set you free! With truth comes the positivity you speak of. Owning your mistakes and acknowledging them instead of continuing to ignore them will also bring only positive things. Be strong, be truthful, be more than ungrateful lies and deceit....and for goodness sake, please give credit where credit is overdue for your van build, girl. You'll feel so much better about yourself and be able to live the words you speak...and raise your vibration so you don't have to keep up the facade. Do the right thing and peace be with you.
The winter in Scotland has been mild so far. There's been a few storms, but it's been mostly mild temperature wise. 60mph winds are nothing unusual ion the islands in winter. You should have asked for the wind direction and parked the van head on when you left it to head for the bothy. Skye is beautiful but very busy in summer. Many other places to visit in Scotland, you need a few months to get a flavour, not just a couple of weeks. Good that you did not giveaway the name or location of the bothy. They are primarily emergency shelters, or should be. And you should always take a tent if you are visiting popular bothies as they can be full of people.

Hi Isabel, it’s lovely to see you back out in nature, adventuring with Logan! I hope you can both find warmer weather soon. I just wanted to touch on something in regards to positivity - I agree with you that it’s important not to stay in spaces of hurt/anger/jealousy etc, but it’s also imperative to provide space for yourself and others to process difficult circumstances and emotions that some would label negative. In actuality, there are no negative emotions - they are all simply feelings and they all serve a purpose. Positivity is wonderful but it becomes very toxic when we tell people (or ourselves) that they cannot experience uncomfortable emotions in our presence. The only way to truly move into a positive space is to process the uncomfortable emotions and associated traumas. We need space to do that and so do our loved ones. It can be hard to go into that place of deep vulnerability with people when they are hurting (again, or even ourselves) but that is where relationships absolutely flourish and strengthen. So… all this to say we get to positivity by fully processing difficult emotions/circumstances and holding space for others to do the same. No one can be fully positive all the time and it’s dangerous to expect that from anyone. That being said, I wholeheartedly agree with you on not making a long term home in places of unrest. The goal should be to process and move forward as a stronger, more well rounded human being.💜
I 100% agree with what you (well worded) say. Yes, it is absolutely ok and should be normal if someone is going through sad or negative moments - What I see critical is those who bring up negative comments/feelings and want to impose this negative attitude to others saying/implying he/she should not be positive but simultaneously blame those for “toxic positivity” who don’t follow them in their negativity. I would call this then "double toxic negativity" ! Ciao M.

@Kengelina I think what Isabel is addressing is all of the havoc that is going on in our world today and how we shouldn't let all of the turmoil draw us into dark places or a dark negative mentality.
If you'll notice Isabel never addresses any current events. It is as if she exists in an alternative universe of peace, calm, tranquility, kindness and mindfulness. Where there is no C🌀vid, mandates, politicians, inflation, war, racism, sexism, ageism, homelessness etc...
She doesn't even feature many other people in her vlogs. Just she and her man in vast landscapes of beauty.
I suppose that's why we love her. She takes us all away from the real world...for a few minutes of peace.
@@chrystallee5528 I think everyone is different. Many people cant find solace in watching someone they know is lying to them, even if it looks nice and relaxing. I find it triggering, so I am no longer relaxed. In fact, for me I find that it reminds me more about what I dislike about the world, what I am trying to get away from.

Welcome to the UK. We have had about 5 of these storms in a row this year. 60-70-80-90mph gusts nearly every night for weeks. An interesting thing is our storms are not 50miles across and last half an hour. Our storms are 3000+ miles across and last days and days.

I lived and studied in Scotland for four years. Scotland is absolutely incredible.
Watching you and Logan share this amazing adventure I thought about how when you both are older you will remember this time with such joy . You will be so very glad that you did this and that you had a partner to share it with that cares about you and enjoys many of the same things that you do. It feels like you guys are so good for each other . This is a wonderful time in your life, don't let negative people or their comments invade your spirit and bring you down. Your ability to travel and experience life with such gusto is something that so many people never get to do.....cherish this and try to hold on to joy, happiness and the beauty of life !!
Addressing the negative things is also a good way to move on past them. Taking responsibility is important for being able to release negativity. If you keep it in then it continues to manifest and gets worse. Pretending the negative isn’t there and ignoring it doesn’t make for a more positive feeling. Depends on perspective i suppose right? Dealing with things and accepting them is much harder than pretending they haven’t happened. Responsibility is hard.

I struggled a little bit with the end part because it feels quite reminiscent of Toxic Positivity (which is typically well intentioned), and that can leave people including ourselves feeling unheard, minimized, and unresolved. There is probably a good conversation to be had about privilege as well, but I appreciate this lens you’ve brought Lacey.
At the end of the day, it’s important to assess whether or not negativity from others or ourselves is coming from a place of good faith where a legitimate conversation is to be had, or piling on for the sake of enjoying hurting someone.

The last couple videos you mentioned several times how cold it is which is baffling to me because when you lived in the mountains you took a bath in a frozen stream. It can’t possibly be that cold in Scotland when you got in a frozen stream with snow all around you. Does anyone else know what I’m saying?
for a battery to function, it needs positive and negative. same for humans. Negative allow us to see what needs to be fixed. If we keep staying only positive, that would be false. like the battery could not function only with positive. negative is part of the game of life. only focus on positive is cool to say but it leads automatically to something fake. there is no point in living in denial or pretending. when you go deeper within, with meditation for example, and not only with stretch yoga pose, you realize deeper how embracing both positive and negative, both shadow and light, is important.

I usually don't comment but I have seen what's going on around CZcams and all I want to say about it is that I hope you continue to do exactly what you've been doing and ignore anything else that's going on around that's negative. Whatever you are doing here you're doing extremely well you are an excellent cinematographer and storyteller. Never let anyone quench your fire. Follow your own advice and spread love everywhere.

Isabel you need to dress warmer. Snow pants and insulated boots would be a good start. Everything should be wind and water proof. When I was an EMT-I I took a wilderness survival course and watching you guys was scary. I lived in Scotland for two and a half years. I saw all kinds of weather, from sunny in the 70F 's to 30F's and snowing. The year before I went to Scotland a ship recorded a wind speed of 110MPH. The ship was at anchor 60 miles inland from the North Irish sea. You see when a storm or hurricane comes up the east coast of the US. It can turn east off the coast of ME and is carried across the North Atlantic by the currents. It can hit Scotland and Norther England with the same force it did along our east coast.
that's not what gets views so she's not gonna do that. Hence why she hikes up the mountain in several feet of snow in a dress then get's really sick for a month and can't seem to figure out why

I really appreciated your discussion on negativity; I have seen time and time again that those who are always criticizing or complaining about their circumstances tend to remain within a negative mindset. I offer a lot of empathy to those, there are often valid reasons why they lean into negativity, but it can be exhausting to maintain optimism and kindness in such a harsh environment. I agree. Bring negative is a choice. In difficult times we need to move through those hardships for growth and transformation. Bring mindful is the key. We also need to understand Universal Law . But as humans we have to be careful of spiritual escapism and at the same time and feel the feels. We can be happy and sad at the same time. Ohhh the human experience lol. I work with people who are struggling and feel stuck. That said we can only help those who want it. Asking is the first step for them . Blessings

This is a tough challenge for you both as the weather conditions, living space and culture require a whole reconfiguration of your skill set and way of being in the world. Sometimes it's easier to adapt to a culture that is very different to our own as we have no expectation of familiarity and every expectation of alienation. Migrating to a place that may seem to share cultural and geographical similarities but in reality are very different can be very tough. 20 yrs ago I drove from the west of Ireland to the Scottish Highlands in a single 13hr day in early May and was flabbergasted to discover on arrival that I could not readily buy fresh milk and that cans of condensed milk were a larder staple. The north of Scotland is beautiful but austere and the people are very, very different to the lowlanders. Take time to sample some of the Scottish city culture as you move south and I think Logan would enjoy a delve into the Scottish music culture (traditional, folk or contemporary) because Scotland has produced a wonderful legacy of music that has crossed the Atlantic and fused with many other folk traditions. Don't let the wind and rain drive you to the border with too much haste.
BTW there is an interesting eco-village community called Findhorn in the Moray Firth which as off-gridders I think you would appreciate. Definitely worth a visit.

Yay for running at 0:31! Actually, you hiking in those valleys and climbing up those slopes does enough good for cardio and leg/torso muscle strengthening when done regularly (daily). Running adds to the crossfit, you may want to do intervals so as not to get bored, like a fast run until you cannot anymore, then, walking fast until you catch your breath and heart rate lowers, then, another interval sprint until you're out of breath, then immediately back to fast-paced walking, etc, for as long as you want. I run like this for since I was a teen, and retrorun too (running backwards) and have not felt better physically/mentally without stressing it. Keep that shape Isabel!
