Specifically, you want a "rheology modifier." It's a liquid that chemically changes the texture of acrylic paints, not a gel or powder filler.

The perfect timing. Stained glass is my new hyperfixation and I am TRYING SO HARD not to actually go out and learn how to do this with glass... I have to remind myself that this flat is just rented and that I CANNOT change the windows 😅 but this way I can! Thanks for this! My ADHD will not let my think about anything else 😅
Another great project to add to the never ending list of “when I have time” 😅. Any recommendations for a less permanent way to affix it to the window? Looks SO gorgeous!
Haha I feel that. And good news: These films peel off glass! Like it peeled off the plexiglass towards the end. They're already non permanent. That's the purpose of laying that coat of clear glue down first- clear glue peels off very easily, it pretty much only stays on the same way cling wrap does by the time it's dry.

well now i want to do this to my kitchen windows.
What a neat solution! I would've gone nuts with bits of coloured gel sheet like they use for stage lighting. Your way is much more cost effective!

My sister spent months actually learning to make stained glass winows and honestly its not that expensive. Its a really cool hobby as well but takes a lot of time. I did design some of the windows too but she is more artistic then me so she did most of it. Half of my parents house looks like a chapel now.

I love this idea but would it work without putting glue down on the window? I work at a school and want to decorate some windows and change them with the seasons. Plus not sure I can put glue on the glass. Any other way to stick the image to the glass?
would i be able to use caming line instead of the foam insulation tape??

Yup! Peels right off as long as you follow the glue instructions 😁
