This video is intended to be an overview of the trail rather than step-by-step navigation instructions. OverlandTrax recommends using a GPS device (Not your smartphone) along with GPS tracks from professional trail guide services. We also suggest taking detailed paper maps just in case your digital navigation fails. As with any adventure, conditions can change dramatically. Please check conditions before attempting a trail and be ready to turn back if conditions are not favorable.

I’m 30 lbs overweight and managed to do this with approx. 10 30 second breaks. This was a very emotional and life changing experience for me tbh... especially after learning that hiking this is like walking up the Eiffel Tower twice lol
Nice!
Like another commenter said, it's 4 miles from the top if you take Barr trail. My first time on the incline took about 2 hours with A LOT of breaks. I thought I brought enough water, but actually ran out about 2/3 of the way down Barr trail, so pack more than you think you'll need. And pack snacks to munch on on the way up or at the top. You'll need the extra energy. Two of us were suffering from sun poisoning on the way down as we picked a rough day to hike this trail. The weather forecast said it would be in the mid to low 70'sf, but it was actually in the high 80'sf. So be prepared and take the Barr trail back, you don't want to risk slipping and falling down that steep incline on the way back. Also, the trail is much less treacherous now than it looks in this video. They just went under some renovations.
just did this at the end of may. was a very fun and challenging hike. im from CT. i started my hike from the hotel which was 2 miles away so no need to find parking. i did the hike on a full sun day and got burnt.
Congrats!
Im preparing for my 129th ascent today.
That's awesome!
Wow! All the info you need! It's a heck of a hike, be sure you're at least in pretty good shape. I wouldn't recommend walking it if you have ANY knee issues, for sure!
Great video, nice that you mention the false summit, my son and i both found out the hard way but made it to the top in approximately and hour. The run down was totally rejuvenating!
We need a trail like this in California 🍷🍷🍷
Agreed 🙂
I did this hike for the Marine Corps. Getting to the top is SUCH an accomplishment. We ran down the Barr Trail afterwards
Nice, thank you for your service!
ive seen so many people in camo in giant groups go up this thing. it was always so satisfying passing them with my 1 year old in my baby backpack on my back :p i lived on ruxton so i did the incline every single day for a LONG time and got very skilled at going up and down.
Great video! I have done this trip over 100 times and made some videos on my channel of it under snow!! I love this place!
so rad!!! great video in the snow
I subbed you channel!
Thank you!!
What’s your fastest time?
@@ryguy5235 29:30 is my fastest
......I got out of breath....watching this....
lol, right!?!
Came here for relaxation and heard a lawyer read all the conditions.....LOL.
Right!?!
Nice job. :)
Thanks!
Nice video! It's 4 miles down the Barr Trail from the top and 2.5 from the bailout. On my 3rd attempt, I made it to the top. Hard to do coming from sea level.
Wrong; it is approximately 2.5 almost 3 miles though it does feel more like 4 miles. I do the incline a couple times a week during spring and summer.
that's a lot of steps! thanks for sharing - subbed ur channel (521). watching and supporting
Awesome, thank you!
'
wow that coooooool nice walking alot on the hike stairway trail...
alot of exercise and good healthly...
must be free vehicle on the parking lot...
must be free hike trail walking go up and go down
I'll go up ONCE and that's IT!!!
Right!?!, totally a bucket list checkbox!
Got to the top td at 43 min. Should've seen this sooner I legit had no water the whole time n I started at 11 am lmao could've gone sub 40 with perfect conditions.
That's a nice run!
I remember hiking up the mountain in Malaysia the same steps type
Batu Caves or something else?
I’ve climbed this probably 50 times my time is down in the low 30s hoping to break that soon
Nice!
I would love to do this 1 day
It's diffidently a good bucket list item, thanks for watching!
I wish I could do that now, but I can't. I'm too old, I'm 60. When I was younger, back in my 20's & 30's, I would have been able to do this. I can see me being able to make it up and down. But now, absolutely not. Thanx for posting this.
Thanks for watching! I hear ya, getting older is not for the faint of heart; having to slow down myself
@@OverlandTrax I used to be able to walk all over with no problem. Now walking a few blocks is hard. I'm waiting for the time when even walking around my apartment will be hard.
@@writer125 at about 62 I did in in about 1 Hr 17 mins!!!! First and only time just slow and steady
Congrats!
I want to try this and I have chronic joint pain.
It's a little rough on joint pain, especially on the way down 😒
i finished it in 61 minutes. im pretty fit and i was in co springs for one week before doing it!! couldve probably done it faster too.
Nice!
Did they fix the trail since this video was made?
If your asking about the last portion of the trail, yes!
Woah
Right?
Are pogo sticks allowed on the incline?
I believe so, defer to the most up-to-date guidelines at the bottom of the incline; they don't change often.. Thanks for watching!
How long does it take if you go normal speed?
Thanks for watching! depending on conditioning and weather conditions, I'd estimate roughly an hour to get to the top.
A little over an hr up
Where’s the pics or video or the top
This was one of my first guides/videos and wish I had taken pictures/video at the top 🙄
Lol, first time I did it we got done in around 50 minutes and that was with a 30 lb plate carrier on
Nice!
I barely made it to the top when I was in 5th grade and now I cant even get half way. I'm fat
Thanks for watching! It's tough even if your in shape!
