- Megavalanche Alpe d'Huez 2018 was epic.
My knee was not doing too good, but I decided to race anyway.
After qualifying second in my leg, I was on a good starting spot.
Mass start on top of the glacier is always sketchy. Megavalanche 2018 was a massive carnage because tons of riders crashed on the glacier.
You'll see how I managed to finish 36th while I had no training at all.
I almost died during the climb, but I'm happy with the result.
Next year, I'm coming back for revenge!

Wow, what a race CG..........pain in the climb (with a winter in "off" mode) but rocket in downhill! Respect from all the riders, you are a legend.......
A nice video to watch. Everyone passes you knows they're passing one of their heroes and then, further down, you encourage the younger riders in front, as you say - giving back to the sport.
Amazing man! I pulled over at the woods to straighten my bars, then thought it'd be more fun to drop in behind but crashed at the end of the woods. Was such a laugh chasing you through there though! Highlight of the race!

36° al traguardo? . . wow . . bellissima partenza hai scelto le traiettorie più sicure e credo che alla fine del ghiacciao eri tra i primissimi. Poi in tanti ti hanno superato. Ho visto tanti video è nessuno come te è stato così salutato dai tifosi lungo il percorso.

Amazing run. You were top 10 for a while the rocky section up top took your breath away. Not bad for an old man with almost no training. I saw how the technical sections you made time and haw you always made time on turns. Your skill and reflexes are amazing still.
Toujours un régal tes vidéos même si tu étais pas au top physiquement en espérant que ton genou te fais pas trop souffrir, j'ai eu le même problème que toi avec des complications de tendinite à répétitions après l'opération. C'est cas même une très belle position. Tu régales CG!!!

Super vidéo Cédric, on voit bien (surtout sur les passages grosses marchés/névés du début) que tu n'es pas à 100% à cause de ton genou mais d'un autre côté on sent que c'est ce qui va te motiver à mort pour l'an prochain !!!

Maybe not sufficiently acclimatized to the altitude? Or maybe that knee prevented sufficient stamina buildup prior to the race?

you are clearly faster than the 2 guys you were trailing..
you can tell cedric is smart at racing instaid of going stupidly fast and fall just choose a good line ended up being at least top 15 after teh first turn. sadly no training and no magura brakes end up costing more places later on but cedric is at his age on another level compared to the yunger guys who are goood but come on look at cedric
