Robin is the best designer of this kind of tv shows. Great designs, never goes over budget, doesn’t panic if something goes wrong during reno, great choice of materials 🔝🔝🔝
Spoiler alert - don’t read this if you haven’t watched the programme yet 🙂 If it wasn’t for the long commute for the existing house, I would have changed my mind once I saw the second floor and had contractors in to build Robin’s design on the first floor. However, given the commute, I would have gone with the house they chose. Time is the most valuable asset a young family can have, in my opinion.
I would have chosen the 3rd house. With the $50k under budget, I would have expanded the kitchen. She can walk to work, it has a nice deck and the yard is big.
Such a bummer they never give the Designer a decent budget but they upped the budget for their next purchase usually by over $100,000. That’s so not fair
The problem isn’t the house, it is the parents. They need to keep an eye on their son where ever they are. They have loads of room but are bored with their home and will take their issues with them wherever they go.

as per the manufacture, w/d in closets NEED a louvered door. ventilation, otherwise its a fire hazard

Correction: The skylights of the 80s leaked. The new ones are practically leak-proof. They're fantastic.
