It only makes sense to pay developers more than managers , it is not even debatable on who brings more value to firm.
I got rejected by a company just because the interviewer was having less package than what I was asking for.The same situation what he says .
It's better to get rejected than dealing with that toxic colleague later down the line.

I joined my current company at 20lpa at 3yrs experience. It's the norm, almost all of my friends have 15+ lpa package and we expect nothing less. I won't switch unless I get at least a 40% hike either.
How I got this package is that I did A LOT of offer shopping. I was holding 17+ offers by the time my notice period ended in the previous company. I know I have the skill, I can crack any DSA round without too much of a hassle which gives me the confidence to reject any offer at a whim.
Also, I don't have a degree, I cleared my Btech in 7 years(1 year back and lots of backlogs). Basically I ignored the academics and just focused on programming alone.
Why I don't have a degree is that I never went to college to pick it up, I don't consider it valuable and I make it a point to not join any company that asks your grades while hiring.

Thanks to CZcams ,because of that we got chance to listen quite practical views by wonderful people like u.
One thing,
People who were in IT during the period from 1995 to 2010 , they earned a lot assets.
So the purchasing power they had with there salary at that time and the skills they had at that time was ok, something out of the discussion .
See if someone is asking for 25 lakh package having 8-10 years of exp now and compared to the current inflation and cost of living it would take around 10 years more to get a house , car and keep family raising and that to the person will feel that he is not living upto the mark.
fee for a child studying in 5th class in a private school is around 1.5 lakh in most of the cities where the IT companies are there.
Rent for a 2 bk is nowadays 20K+ , even more in apartments.
Cost of transportation is getting more and more every 6 months.
Lot of costs to add that you guys know well.
So when ever you see a bullshit manager in late 40's saying this shit to you. Tell him that you have sucked the IT system well enough and still getting the perks, how hard is to survive in current situation.
Never share your salary or existing packages during technical interview
What if he asks about current ctc??
Then what we share if they ask your current package
Tech Interviewer be like, "You can leave for the day. We will call you for next round" Or "The manager is not available. Managerial round will be communicated to you by HR."
But I never faced package discussion in technical interviews.

I am 2021 passout but when i think of my school days, sabkuch school teacher se samajhna hota tha, teacher acha ho to samajh aa jata tha nhi to kisi tarah guzara krna hota tha km marks me, ab ke generation ke pas easily available internet hai, jo v doubt hota hai khud padh lete hai and school me acha perform kr sakte hai.

Managers jealous hai because aaj ka generation unse jyada paise kama rhe hai apne skills ke kaaran. Ab managers ya kisi ki skill ki kami hai fir uspe kaam karna chahiye naki kisi se jealous ya neecha dikhana.

one of my relative almost 15y exp.. resigned his company due to family tensions and continuous work frustrations. since he had home loan emis, family expenses. He could not prepare for any other technology. though he was good but never upskilled throughout his career. His company colleague asked him to rejoin and send resume. He applied after some 4 rounds and video recording interview etc., at the end manager told him its not getting through better to try other companies. Its now difficult to say why the company approached and snapped him by rejecting.

I doubt that, for 15yo experience domain knowledge and product know how matters more than coding. May be he lacked drive for the job.
@@techihandle It was Database work.. scripts used to be there not coding. what do you doubt exactly? and what do you mean by lacking drive for the job? He used to be one of the best among the team.
@@venktesh6600 if he was really best manager would not be rejecting him, I doubt about trustfulness of claim, 15yo experience guy can get more money on consulting itself than full-time job. Only reason not getting through could be performance or culture/behavior mismatch.
@@techihandle See 15 y ex. itself indicates that he had some substantial ability. consulting?? you are talking about youtube/social media one like right? other than this I don't think any other money making consulting is possible I guess. very few people decides and able to do this and this demands other communication skill as well apart from being an expert for long time. And as long as you are in the work force, management have some fear that you are indispensable once you come out they will learn somehow they are managing without you. Then comes cost cutting there. Since an interview passes through 4-5 upper guys it might get struck anywhere there. Another thing was he demanded a Hike in existing package even though he was not having any alternate offer.

Dear friends, normally I donât prefer commenting on CZcams. But I do feel the need seeing this post and some misconception our folks have. Sorry donât wanna brag but so people understand my credentials I have 15+ yrs in IT with 10 yrs in US (architect & manager roles). Developers are the most key elements in project success but more often than not doesnât have a business understanding and the larger vision of the project or organization. So a manager is the most key element here to balance the team and client. Being at a client side I have learnt IT is not just coding. Itâs only the backend work which mostly is done from India. All other strategic, financial and forecasting decisions are made from the US where ur manager is involved. So both the roles hold equal importance. Rather than comparing understand the dynamics so people and learn and grow together. Itâs not a single manâs game đ. All the best Guys

I need suggestion seriously I am depressed and frustrated , I have joined XYZ company in 2021 from campus placement this company has 4 years bond and also they forcefully asked us to join WILP mtech and now I am stuck with this company cause I don't able to switch also I have 1 yr 9m experience in developing and I am working on react in FE and I feel confident . I am getting 3.2 lpa in Bangalore, it's difficult to survive with this amount. How to get out of this situation đ?

Well same pinch. I was into testing for 1.5 yrs with good performance n good reviews..i managed to get into python development role outside other projects. All thanks to Manager too. So in the end it all boils down to how is ur relationship with ur manager... N how she can project u to her higher management.
It's very difficult if manager doesn't want to let u go. U can try connecting with higher manager n explain them ur wishes n what more u cn offer in the new role etc...

There are no free lunches anywhere. If they are giving high packages they will make sure you are assigned with loads of work. Your work life balance will be screwed and do not forget that you will not get all amount in hand. You will have to pay huge income tax since your income will fall under 30 percent tax bracket. I am telling you this from my own experience. So do not just run after money.
Don't share your salary to anyone ones it revealed your carrier ruined. Everyone compare hisself or herself with you and they will never hired you. It is human nature
