Wow, that was really hard to watch. I'm glad they all survived.
Water is not really soft ((
Many years ago, while in college, I wanted to dive off my schools 10 meter tower. The life guards said NO, it's dangerous without training. Watching your vids, I'm very glad they said no. Diving is great fun (Even in my 60s) but mistakes really do hurt
Done it I’m my 30 first time head first haha dislocated my shoulder never try again….
Yes, back in the day, people were not informed, and thought it is just height difference, and that water is soft. But even at 5-6m height you can get seriously injured if you land badly. Especially head jumps, and if legs go over your head.
@@jutjub22 I don't believe you can hurt yourself on 5m no whatever how bad you land
with 10 meter the risk of dying is very low, although with bad landings you'll get all sorts of injuries
We had free reign on the high tower as kids.
I'm absolutely stunned that none of these people died. That just doesn't even seem possible. Curious about the tease of jumping out of a plane without a chute.
That was Travis Pastrana on a show called nitro circus. He is a very famous pro motorcycle rider/daredevil. You can easily Google his name and find that video.
Thank you for the content. Am watching your videos in order to conquer my fear of heights.
As an ex diver, that was insane to watch and I feel the pain! I knocked the wind out of me on the 3 meter once, it was horrible! For another episode, how many flips or/and twists can you do off the 10 meter? I was in Ocean City, MD one summer and they had a 1 and 3 meter spring board, I was challenged to another diver on the number of flips we could do off the 3 meter. I won with 3.75 lol! No one got hurt, but it was a lot of fun! Just wondering what the record is of off each meter from 1-10.
Your wife was fun to watch on an episode 4 months ago, she was nervous and I am not sure she liked it. 😊
damn if 3 meters kinda hurts i cant imagine what these people felt!
I’m not sure if your going to see this comment but, I love watching your videos. Me personally would never want to do any cliff diving but maybe off 10m, that’s the max I would go! Your videos are so fascinating and always amaze me 🤙
Hey, thank you for your comment ❤️ I don’t recommend anyone to try anything higher than 10-12 ))
I love these videos please make more
When I was younger I was in a diving club and later was always the guy jumping off cliffs and bridges and climbing up the sides off city buildings for laughs.
I got lucky and survived with no major injuries.
I love watching your channel, it brings back the adrenaline.
Keep up the awesome work dude, you're amazing! 😎🤙
🤪
Let's be honest... at the 125m one (07:26) the rope did still slow them down quite a bit and saved all their lives.
def didn't slow them down idk what ur talking abt
How did it slow them down, what are you talking about 😂😂
Yes it did bro they didn’t enter at 81 mph like the guy said are you crazy
@@Mrpotato19973yes it saved their lives. you can't survivre to a 100m jump
@@Mrpotato19973he's talking about elementary physics
These videos makes our days better
People underestimate how hard the impact is even when jumping from low heights. Always have someone watching you and ready to go in if you don't resurface in a few seconds. A 22 yo drowned after jumping off a 17 + - foot cliff at lake wedowee two years ago. He tried a flip & did a back buster, apparently it knocked him out, he went down and never came back up. Dive team found him two days later. There were plenty of people in boats spectating but no one in his boat was watching him. My kids talked to him on the cliff before he jumped and said he was sauced so alcohol was probably a contributing factor.
I don't care about any of this stuff but your energy is contagious. I'm watching a few of your vids daily now 😅
pls more of these vids they're awesome
I have nothing but respect for you. You are a true professional and knowledgeable in your sport
Great coverage. Thanks, friend.
I've jumped off 80' with shoes and it was crazy how long the free fall is. can't imagine diving over that height
The sound of them hitting the water is absolutely unbelievable 🙏🏻
Coming back with a BANGER again. This was awesome!Youre such a underrated youtuber but im sure that in the future You will become big!💙
I’m amazed your the best👌
Great video
Great fun. Thank you.
I grew up near a swimming lake that had diving boards, the highest of which was 10 metres. I spent many happy summers there with my friends and we'd do all sorts of crazy shit off the high boards. Even at just 10 metres though, I remember the pain if you hit the water wrong - like having your feet smacked by a giant if they were flat to the water when you landed. Worse if you had an arm out and the underside hit the water. Much worse if you went in sideways or landed on your back. The stinging could last for hours. THAT WAS JUST 10 METRES!!!! I always think about that when I watch videos of these lunatics death diving from 2-3x higher than that. I can't imagine how bad hitting the water badly from those heights would be.
I guess I've been lucky so far. 95 feet was my best. It was really quite fun. I did it 6 times in one day. I passed out on the drive home and had bruised knuckles but it was worth it. I have no idea why I passed out as a passenger on the way home but it was only temporary. I felt fine 2 hours later. My brother tought me to make fists right before impact so I could slide ride through and not hurt my head. I don't know why I lost conciousness on the way home, but my knuckles were beat to hell.
I guess going frrom 80 mph to zero in 15 feet is pretty hard on the brain. 38 years later and I'm still dooing phine a%d muy speling and pungshuasion arr purfekt. No problems hear. I still like....I forgot... oh yeah!...I still like charry pie and wiped kreem.
I like this format! I’ve always seen that triple gainer from 52m, I need a video about that competition !
Great video! 🌟✊️❤️
It is 100 feet from the bottom of the deck of Pennybacker Bridge to the water and at least that to the top of the arch so I would say they got feet and meters mixed up and 213 feet sounds about right.
Yeah his estimate of 41 meters was underselling it; he was not counting the seconds accurately; I think that it was more like 3.5 seconds almost which would make 3.5^2 * 9.8/2 = 12.25 * 4.9 which is at least like 60 meters or close to that... Not as much as people were claiming (that would have been more like 5-6 seconds) but still insane.
love your clips ,💯👌👏
Very nice commentary. It's very important to ease the horror of seeing these clips! More scary stories please!
Watermagic back with another video 🙂
Insane!!
GOD, that second video is HILARIOUS- I can’t stop laughing about the shocking Bitzch *SLAP* SOUND!!😂🤧🤣
Amazing video
It’s insane that they all survived. Oh wow🥺❤️
Video very well covered
Crazy.. madness
New subscriber this video has some insanely gnarly jumps! That head dive from the old man at almost 150ft is beyond bonkers 😨
Great video, Jim! Pretty sure you will never catch me taking such a jump! I have a question: I've noticed some divers have tape wrapped around joints, etc. What's that for? Thanks!
Nice work. Very cool stuff. All the best to you and fam.🖖🏻
Insane 😮
Really great video. You are a far braver man than I if you do this professionally. Much respect.
Hi Jim. I'm a huge fan. I would like to ask you if you can make a video about Laso's world record cliff jump. It would be really interesting from someone like you. Take this into consideration
i love your videos, keep it up! But can you do a tutorial how to twist in flips? Like the technique how to twist yourself multiple times? Would be great
Ty
As a kid I watched Henry la motte dive from a great height into a pool only two feet deep…it was at the Boulevard rugby ground in hull
Good video, well done. I’d like to see you do some of the ones you mentioned at the end.
Great video mate. Could've included Laso Schaller's world record cliff dive as well though^^
Great video! Would love to see one dedicated to the 52m competition!
I see😉
Bro im in love with your youtube channel😍
Glad to hear that!😌
Nice
I’m crazy but dam this is a little outta my league. I’ve jumped off a lot of bridges into rivers, outta trees into ponds and swinging from a rope but never at those heights. Holy shit that’s nuts lol
Thank you for putting the measurements in feet for us Americans. Very thoughtful of you. 🙂👍👍
The general consensus is that a dive or fall from about 112 feet (34m) into water is usually fatal. Or at least highly injurious. If you aren’t killed outright, you will drown due to injuries.
Water is essentially concrete for falls or dives from 112 feet and higher.
Exactly it stops you for a millisecond, and thats all thats needed for the damage to occur
I remember jumping off a bridge when I was a teenager that was 15-20 m high and landing slightly of centre which resulted in me getting winded and bruising my ribs, I can't imagine how much these dives hurt!
Wow❤
When I was a teen me and my friends always used to splash dive at the diving pool. It was fun and a way to impress the girls. When I was 15 years old I wanted to know if I could manage to do something more serious than just bombing away. I tried a 1,5 front flip from the 1m platform but it was very difficult because I didn't rotate fast enough. I tried it from the 3m platform and it worked but it was very inconsistent and I felt that I had not much control. I tried it from the 5m platform and it worked perfectly. It seemed to be very easy from that height with 100 % consistency. A couple days later I tried it from the 7,5m platform. I was very nervous but the jump was totally perfect. So after just one try from the 7,5m platform I wanted to try it from the 10m platform the very same day. I don't know exactly what happened but I overrotated and for some reason I even hit the water sideways (which had never happenedd before). I was in huge pain in the water but tried to shield it from the spectators. I could barely walk and the lifeguard talked to me a little but about the jump. It must have looked really bad. I limped for the rest of the day and had a lot of pain in my shoulders and one of my legs but my pride was more hurt than my body. The next day the shoulder and leg pain was gone but I realized that I had tremendous pain when writing. In the evenening I couldn't wrote anymore and barely hold a pen. We went to the hospital and the x-rays showed that my right hand was broken. That was in 1993 and it was the last time I ever jumped from any platform. It's not that I promised myself I wouldn't do it. It's just that the summer was ruined through the broken hand and from then on I tried to do other things when at a swimming pool and so the years went by. But your videos really make my 44 year old self want to go the diving pool again and see if the old dog still has some tricks in himself.
I saw your community post. I hope this helps in some way 👍🏼
Thank you ❤️✌🏻
At 14 years old, I spent my summer vacation diving off of every bridge I could find. My favorite was an old train bridge in Ohiopyle State Park in Pennsylvania. It was only an 80 foot dive, but into only 8 feet of water, (head first). The local people said I was the only one to do this and survive.
You know it's Russia when the emergency services say "too hard, probably dead" and leave.
Jim! Holy crap, man!
It’s amazing that the last group are alive. That doesn’t even seem survivable
Great video, I am not trained so 10-12 metre jumps are my max.
This is no fun anymore, thanks for this good video that people know a little bit how dangerous this can be
The guy headfirst from 42m is insane. Just flying in the same position for 40m
Today I jumped from 5 meters height because you motivated me. I did it 5 times, it was fun. And am so grateful to you, I watched all your videos, also in Russian. Thanks a lot!!!
Please be safe!😇
3man bungee reminds me of the 6man bridge swing….”we’re hurt!” 😂
Hey Jim how did you know you wanted to cliff dive and where did you learn and also have you ever considered doing a Q&A and last thing thanks for all of your very entertaining and informative videos
Hey there! Well, I wanted to challenge myself and one of my best friends is a cliff diver, so he kinda tricked me into trying it🤷🏻♂️
Thank-you so much for replying we love your videos soo much and I watched your latest video and I understand your frustration that is so annoying.
you should check out death diving (døds) in Norway ! ;]
Whenever i hear a KBLMLOP my heart skips a beat
La verdad me gustan estos tipos de personas son muy corajudos y valientes
These are some of the most frightening videos I have ever seen. I literally need to force myself to watch them. Super scary stuff. Gives me nightmares just thinking about it.
Ouch!
Yes
More of this
I realy want to hear about the 52m diving! It is nuts!😀
Nice video ! Hopefully, everyone's still alive ^^
Would be so much interested by a teaching video from you where you explain the basics of good landing and things to do /not during the fall.
Because many are going to keep diving (from wayyyy lower cliffs I hope), and advices from a pro would always come in handy ;)
Cheers !
@watermagic
Pennybacker Bridge is not 213m (700ft) nor 43m (140ft) but about 75m (250ft).
Currently learning to dive and 107c is still scary for me on 3m springboard. I cannot fathom the heights at which these people are able to jump, let alove survive!
My brother was famous for jumping off of 110 foot cliff in Pennsylvania into a quarry. The highest that I ever went waa a s 80 feet since we were both swimmers and divers we were lucky enough to leave without any injuries. We did see a few people get hurt that day, but my brother was the only person to do the 110 foot cliff.
This all looked super painful and it’s surprising that you are explaining what happened instead of actually going through the events
I never knew cliff diving was a sport. Cool
that bridge jump was absolutely terrifying
You worked really hard on this, and such an amazing job. This was so hard to watch. How some of these people walked away, puzzles me..
Really hope some people watch this and make the right decisions
I jumped off a bridge in Vermont that was 40+ ft.
Not that high for divers but even tho I went straight in feet first, the water really collapsed around my head with a good amount of force. Packed a good whallop.
Very good video 💦🔥
❤️🤟🏻 great to hear that from you!
I didn’t think you could survive a jump into water from over 100m and even all 3 survived that’s insane
OH MY GOD! That sound when they hit the water.... 😮
First
That poor soul that just dove off that 150 foot cliff to his doom! Like a stuffed fish…..suuumaaaack! 😂 glad he lived to tell the tale!
That was Bad Ass! MAC MAC MAC MAC.
This diving is really hard how you can do it? I love your videos
I’ve got used 🤣❤️
can you do a, weirdest water tricks world records video?
FIRST
❤️❤️❤️
My palms are so sweaty from watching this. INSANITY.
So they added two people without increasing the rope? They get the Darwin award!
What's your opinion on dods diving aka deathdiving?
As long as it happens at the proper diving facility I’m ok with it I guess🤷🏻♂️
Purely for educational and informative purposes. We had no fun at all watching this. (Or at least that’s what 0:03 wanted us to say)
Lol of course we love this as always. What a great job 👏
3:30 Why do you start the timer at 1 the moment he jumps.... Do you not know how counting works???
interesting video . the amateurs broke the most important rule of high diving which is ALWAYS have a spotter or spotters . doing it alone is insane .
I watch diving much more carefully now that i know more. Should only be done safley. I hope others learn from you jim. You should be a world trainer.
FYI the Saa Fomba stunt was done on the Pennybacker Bridge. The height from the water to the road surface is about 100ft. So, that jump was easily over 200ft.
Yeah, the 42 m he calculated was definitely on the low side, I reckon it would have been about 50 m, at most 60 m.
Yeah definitely. The height of the arch above the road deck if more than the height of the deck above the water so it's probably around 230ft from eyeballing it.
