    Hats off to anyone who saves up to buy a Chris Reeve knife to be their only edc knife. I have definitely been bitten by the hobby. I have 15 or 16 nice knives and am always looking for the next one.

      I have a small sebenza 21. I had a cold steel for a few years and ended up upgrading. I only use the cold steel camping now because It’s so sturdy

      I went through that phase for about a year. I now only carry a Giant Mouse fixed blade, a small Inkosi Tanto, a James Brand Ellis and an Opinel #6. I sold off EVERYTHING else.

      I was the same way for a long time, I finally sold a few of my knives, saved up a bit, and bought a sebenza. Haven’t looked back since, I can’t imagine carrying anything else.

    Agree with your assessment of the Inkosi. I have the Insingo blade, great tip for piercing and enough belly for slicing. Also, it feels so solid in hand, the pivot and stop pin are MASSIVE, and the huge washers make it so smooth; mine will drop shut.

    Just got mine about an hour ago and just love the heck out of it. I also purchase this model with the sheepfoot blade. It should be here Saturday. Awesome video.

    I own the Sebenza 21 in a Tanto, it gets the most pocket time out of all my knives. I would give up the rest for this knife, it really is that good.

    Great review. Enjoyed the cutting demos. I went with a PJ Inkosi small Tanto for my bday. Figured the thinner blade stock would benefit from the Tanto design. Extremely happy with my purchase. Perfect gentleman's edc that is high quality and will last me years. On a side note, I still love my Spyderco exclusives though. Sucker for colored G10 and super steels.

    I am back and forth on two available Large Inkosi Knives. One natural canvas micarta -Tanto - the other Black Micarta Drop Point. I am still stuck but leaning back toward Tanto.

    My EDC is a Cold Steel Recon-1 S35VN.
    I use the second point just like a clip point belly, also great for scraping as you mentioned.
    Great video as always.

    @DavidV4444 Před 4 lety +2

    Kevin, fantastic review, you captured the philosophy of Chris Reeve! S35VN sharpens easily, takes a wicked sharp edge, holds the edge very well, is corrosion resistant and is not prone to chipping - the best all around steel IMO. The large washers result in perfect fit, zero blade play and the knife is beautiful and simple.

    I like the tanto blade that CRK does. I have the Umnumzaan in a tanto blade and would be curious on your thoughts on why the Inkosi over the Umnumzaan

    • @markw7303
      @markw7303 Před 4 lety +1

      In no way shape or form inkose over umnazan . Only way is if you had to have the small. The umnanzan is a special knife design the inkose is just market segment filler

      @@musclebillcoaching inkosi is not worth owning in the long term. However with out getting an zaan in hand I don't want to do a recommend at these pricepoints with out a try before buy purely out of a ergonomics standpoint

      He never does :p is it a compusion or prefrence. Some ppl theink the lock/clip side is ugly but on the same hand maybe reviewers feel theres a best side to the kife ( especially for video) i wonder if id buy a little rotating stand and just have it go round and round the whole time:p

  • @user-nd1ku3qi7e
    @user-nd1ku3qi7e Před 4 lety +1

    I agree the tanto blade gets an undeserved bad rap. I got my Sebenza 31 in the clip point, but only because the tanto isn’t available at the moment. For those who are more patient than myself, CRK say the tanto Sebenza 31 should be available by year’s end.

  • @markw7303

    Regarding "hard use" and "durability" how do you feel the Inkosi compares to the Umnumzaan?

    • @gentlemansgear5041
      @gentlemansgear5041 Před 3 lety

      Inkosi is really the most hard use knife CRK offers. All of them can handle pretty much everything you will put them through everyday, but the Inkosi is the most durable. Umnumzaan is great, but the stop pins/thumb studs being only pressured in makes it slightly less durable. In any case you should be just fine because CRK warrenty is amazing and they will fix/replace pretty much everything.

  • @KNIFEfreak101

      One word LOCK ROCK they made the ceramic berring larger and thereforer with out perfect geometry in every other part of the build it poses and issue. Also there just ugly now especially with inlays talk to me when the 41 comes out maybe ill apreciate it by then. Remeber chris reeve is no longer part of the company soooooo take that for what its worth hand feel is also just plain akward and they have gone farther towards mkeing it just another "highend" edc knife. The thrill is gone baby
