Did you ever read the Fist of the Blue Sky manga? I worked on probably the highlight of the series, when "Ryu Sobu", essentially proto-Roah as a Nazi, was a lot of fun. The anime only depicts the first few tankoban manga volumes. I was around for Roah Gaiden's production too, but it was all outside of the main production studio. It definitely worked better for modern manga and anime audiences, while most people, other than older die hard Hokuto No Ken fans, read Fist of the Blue Sky.
...ah, now I see that you are finally touching on Souten no Ken (Fist of the Blue Sky). I worked as an illustration assistant on tankobon volumes 12-15.
your retrospective series are great as a big fan of fist of the north star myself i will definitely encourage my friends to watch your vids keep up the good work
Too bad that Amiba did not appear in the animated adaptation of Legends of the Dark King: A Fist of the North Star but I find out that they have an animation concept art of Amiba as well as Jagi concept art how also did not appear in the anime you can check them out at Hokuto Renkitōza wiki I wonder why Jagi and Amiba did not appear in the anime mainly because due to the anime have only 13 episode that in can't cover so much manga material or does two don't play important roles in the story who knows.
I wish they make an anime adaptation of the Bloody Wolf's Darkness Blue: Fist of the North Star Rei Side Story manga because I wanna see Rei become the main character.
I’ve been reading the Blue Sky manga and so far it’s pretty great. Though from what I’ve seen the anime of it seems pretty lackluster. Doesn’t have that passion other series had. Anyways great video hope part 7 comes out soon.
Great review series ! I actually have become Hokuto no Ken fan very late since mid 2016. I agree, souten no ken anime really flopped hard lol, but the manga is fantastic imo. I also like Rei gaiden so I would love to see your review on it in the future as well (^_^)

out of everything in DD HNK, my favorite joke is ken using hyakuretsu ken....while typing. soley 'cause it's relatable as fuck now that i'm used to using a wider keyboard with..well. clacky keys, combined with me having horrifically fast hands sometimes

I prefer the slimmed down look of characters in Legend of the Dark King. I think a remake of the original series in that style would do well. I enjoyed the OVA's but felt everyone was too pumped up, their muscles had muscles!
From the acual Legends of the True Savior movies. I think in Kenshiro-Den there is a part at the end that plays the song from beginning to end with manga images.
In terms of fist of the blue sky, I’m not sure whether the 2018 sequel/reboot series, Fist of the Blue Sky Regenesis, is better or worse the 2006 series. On the one hand, the CGI is very choppy, and you can clearly see the lines where the models cut off, and the characters are overly buff making them look very disproportionate. On the other hand, the fight scenes have allot more energy, and are much less stilted, for the most part anyway. Does that make it good? Again, I’m not really sure. At the very least, its not as bad as Bersek 2016 since the models are much easier on the eyes, and they don’t look like plastic dolls.
