I paid $1000 back in December 2020 for Charlie ( no AKC). Took me 6 mo to find him - a lot of puppy scams out there and a high demand for pups during this Covid lock down. Puppies advertised w no credentials, no mom/dad onsite and no litter mates to choose from. Finally connected w nice family on FB who owned both parents and had a litter of 4 locally. We got to meet pups and parents and although they were not formal or experienced breeders, they made every effort to care for mom and pups and provided health record. So far - 4.5 months into puppyhood, he’s been healthy and a delight.

I paid $3000 for my female red Boston terrier puppy about 10 days ago. I live in Chicago, and I didn't want to drive for hours in the snow and ice to pick up my puppy, although the downstate pups were about half the price I paid. She's my 4th Boston, and probably the brightest and friendliest of them all. I'm very happy with her--although I've loved all my Bostons.

I purchased my Panda at 9-10 months old about 1 1/2 months ago. I bought her from a breeder from the AKC website. I paid $1600 for her but her younger puppies cost between $2000-$2500. The price I paid was well worth it but has been the most I have ever spent getting a dog. She came from a very nice breeder, 5 generations pedigree, her Dad has champion bloodlines, all testing done, healthy, AKC registered, microchipped, and some training! I was given a leash, harness, toys, treats, 2 jackets, a bag of goodies, paid registration,AKC papers, paid microchip activation. Panda was already crate trained and leash trained with about 90 percent house trained already too. So I am so happy with her!!!

Got my first Boston in 2019 from rescue group, paid about $300. He is a true delight! Encourage people to consider rescued dogs before going to breeders, you could be saving a dog from spending life in puppy mill situation -- not saying all breeders are bad by the way. Take the time to research and educate yourself before buying.

You are so right about a puppy shortage. Not only for Boston's, but for mixed breeds in shelters where I live as well, and yes, covid changed everything. The good new is that more dogs here are being adopted and finding homes. The bad news is that it is extremely hard here to find a Boston, or many other breeds.

I purchased my Boston boy from a breeder last Easter 2020, actually. Right before much of the pandemic lockdowns went into effect, I suppose. I found the breeder online and met her and the puppy's parents before making a deal. He ended up costing $800 and he's an absolutely gorgeous boy. Very healthy and perfectly Boston, imo.

Also you have to consider good breeders will be having their vet do all health testing. They should also be providing at least a 1 year health guarantee. Bostons are definitely worth it

In 2000 My first Boston Terrier male was $500.00 in CO at a pet store; he was AKC. My second was 375.00, unpapered in CA, My third male Boston Terrier, AKC, was $750.00 in 2013. In 2022, recently bought an AKC female in CA for $1200.00, and Finally, in January 2023, I bought a male Boston Terrier who is AKC and DNA tested to rule out health problems for $2300.00. Do your research..you get what you pay for. Hope this information helps.
My first Boston cost me $250 I bought her in Louisiana my second Boston was $600 and I bought him in California mind you this was at least 12 years ago no matter what the price these precious little babies are worth every penny

I got my BT puppy Lemmy in August 2019 for $750 from a back yard breeder I found through Greenfield Puppies. I have some misgivings about using them but the breeder was less than 20 miles from my house and $750 was the lowest price I saw for a BT puppy so I went to have a look. Needless to say Lemmy came home with me and is a healthy and happy little dog. My misgivings come that Greenfield Puppies seems like a network of dog breeders based in an area known for puppy mills.

@@BostonTerrierSociety Please don't judge me. The idea that I *may* have inadvertently supported the puppy mill industry troubles me. The fact is just about everyone I talked to around here who got a puppy, of whatever breed, got it from an Amish breeder. I'd really be interested in the BT Society doing a video on puppy mills but it would really be service to the community, troubling as the subject is.
My dog was free from the pound but he’s only 1/3 Boston. He’s also part Pug and Beagle. Best dog In the world. So smart and handsome.🥰🐶

The AKC has done some things to dog breeds that they should be ashamed of. Please quote the AKC as little as possible.

I didn’t $1750. It was a $500 deposit that towards the total amount. Our little Maya is well worth it! I’m in california and I was surprised to find one only about and hour and a half away. I sound also recommend AKC marketplace is also a good resource of Boston Terrier breeders.

Our Bostons Waldo & Bruno, like Ralph & Jigsaw before them, give back so much more than we could ever come close to repaying them. Dogs are beloved members of the family. BUT anyone thinking of getting a dog must realize owning & caring for a dog is expen$ive, very expen$ive. And since you don't return a member of the family when you think they're costing you too much, that expen$e has be to considered.

I spent $1400 on my red boston. He is only 9 weeks old. Is there a pricing difference between traditional and the red boston? I read somewhere that the National Kennel Society does not recognize the red boston. Is that true and why?

We spent 2500 but it included spay hernia repair microchip i love her so much het 1st vet appt was free and she had a cough got meds for free so i think i got a good deal!

Ours isn’t AKC, and we’re good with that, we have no interest in breeding or showing so getting a Boston for a much lower price than the average (and going to Idaho as a road trip to get him) was well worth it
