Oscoda is where I Got my start as a AMT. I was fresh out of A&P school 19 years old. I taxied my first A/C a 747 in Miami when I was 20. I never forget the experiences got in my short time with the company. Back the it was AIA. I now am at Southwest Airlines 22 years time. I went from working on the biggest planes to the smallest planes. I sure do miss wide bodies.
Pretty awesome that an American company can do this. Ironically on this you tube page there’s a video about a Kalitta 747 that had a triple engine failure on takeoff.
Kalitta's presence in Oscoda has saved the town from going down the drain after the USAF left. On a side note, Kalitta did yeoman's work during the Afghan and Iraq wars, returning our fallen to their homes, safely, reverently and honorably.
cool that the work is done in America and that's where the jobs matter to me. Blue collar guys with good jobs going home to their families at night. Good job Connie.
Flew in to Oscoda for a trip with my buddy this past week and was amazed at how many Boeing's were in the yard. Have to admit it was pretty eerie taxiing around that place and and seeing all the dismantled aircraft. After watching this and what that facility is, my only regret to flying in there, is not asking for a tour :P

I’m honored to work for such an amazing company!
I enjoyed my employment with them back in the 90's!!
