    • @Half_of_The_World
      @Half_of_The_World Před rokem

      @@lasseel3724 honestly procreate is pretty good if you don't want to be stuck in one place or lugging around a laptop and drawing slate (bare minimum), plus it's basically just a simpler version of Krita that can work just as well if you add a paperlike screen protector (or equivalent) to your iPad then it honestly isn't much different to a full drawing tablet without carrying a laptop
      EDIT: I didn't know you could get Krita on mobile platforms, but still, on a tablet I'd still go for procreate unless you are on an android device

    A small but important correction: Krita isn't, and is not planned to be made available on IOS. So no Krita for iPads and such, which is unfortunate since it is mine pick from these two.

      Follow up: altho you can import photoshop brushes, it has different brush processing engine (not sure if that is how its called) so the brushes from other programs won't work properly.

      @jashum8554 Před 2 lety +5

      @@aayansh3919 I dont think it should have an impact tbh. I heard that mac does have drivers issues from time to time and there may be some limited compatibility w some software (neither should be too much issues with newer models of tablets and versions of software). Windows doesnt have neither of these issues, but it hogs ram a bit more and tends to deteriorate in an odd way over time. BUT you can slap stronger graphics card and upgrade ram easier (as long as I know) which is both benefitial for better drwing experience. Better parts will ofc run you more cash. But than again... apple projects isnt exactly cheap either.
      I would advice you to check and ask on some subredits. Youll get better and more experienced people responding there

Personally if you are going to be in one place and not mobile the desktop apps do better (they need keyboard shortcuts to use efficiently and on smaller screens are too crowded and overwhelming) procreate does it right for mobile. With keyboard shortcuts being replaced by tapping in certain ways and a very natural intuitive UI, like procreate is sooooo natural

      For illustration I’d recommend Krita, it has better brushes with more control and customization and really useful tools like the colorize tool and reference tools + if you know how to program in python you can make more tools since it’s open source, and even if you don’t know how to program there’s a small and nice community and several tutorials on how to make your own plug ins. For photo editing photoshop is pretty good, not so intuitive but since is a really popular software there’s plenty of tutorials, and also it’s useful if you have a job because it supports many image formats and it’s connected to the Adobe cloud programs so people can work on several stuff at the same time in different programs, but if you’re doing it for hobby I would recommend Gimp or Photopea for photo editing since both are free and have the same tools you might need from photoshop
