    In Australia we had a tractor manucturer called chamberlain. Deere bought them out I think in the seventies and kept manufacturing until early eighties. My father had a chamberlain 3380 which he gave to me. It had one of those French engines with next to no maintenance ever done. My brother had a chamberlain 4240 with the six French motor and the harmonic balancer hated staying attached to the crankshaft.
    It is still in his shed in a million pieces.

    Perfect timing on this video as it's going to be my winter project on our 2950! The Hi no longer works, nor the AC, and there's some leaks. It'll be my first time taking off a cab and splitting it, so this video is really helpful as I'm just figuring it out as I go.

    I know an old boy that has a 6410 MFWD Cab & 640 loader with a little over 1200 hours. Uses it for haying season, around 300 to 400 square bales each year (along with his Farmall's). For me I run 6M Deere's and love them.

    I always remove the 3 point hitch assembly and check the transmission shafts and I also check the load control shaft for leaks and replace when the oil is drained out they like to get pitted when used around a barnyard or have been submerged in water and manure.

    Have a 3650 which is very similar, but UK model
    Same thing, metal bits out of the back plug turned out to be the rivets off the handbrake band

    I know my dad is not a fan of these tractors, especially the open station with the shifter between your legs but I always thought a well kept 2950/2955 would be a nice machine. But like you said, a 6410 is miles ahead as a whole

    I like our 2940, hydraulics suck but rarely use them. Love the fuel economy of that engine, says made in France is that the same in that 2955.

    I think they had a dry clutch which was probably industry wide for the utility class tractor's but otherwise I really like them. Those 359's will start right up below zero Fahrenheit unassisted.

    Hey, i just went through the internet looking for somebody who has the same issue with the 2955, no hi-low and no function of the rockshaft. What a nightmare…. I hope to see part two of this operation to get some know how. I am about to remove the cab and then let‘s see. Regards from the freezin Yukon

      Good question, maybe 800-1000lbs?

      Is it possible to split the 4230 in a way I could get at the transmission top shaft?

      Our little chain hoist is a one ton and I can easily lift it.
      You could build Some legs to drop down from the bottom of the cab right in front of the rear axles. And then you could roll the transmission out from underneath the cab.

      The 2955/3155 had some quirks, much improved over 30 series.
      They were good to operate, kind of miserable to work on.

      Are the industrials still synchronized or not.
      What should I look for 3700 hrs
      Has side ditch mower on it.
      Asking 11,500

      Other than yellow paint I don't know what there would be for difference between construction and agriculture
      If I was going to look at that tractor they're really isn't a specific problem with that tractor. I would do a pretty General look over. How does it start, once it's warmed up the exhaust and the blow by how do they look, does it shift halfway decent do the brakes work. Are there any hot spots on the hydraulic components like the outlet boxes that the levers hook to or the three-point control valve housing
      I'd pull the radiator cap off the rev the engine up to make sure it's not pushing water, does the water look clean, does the hydraulic oil look clean and not smell burnt
