I thought for sure it would put a yellow tinge on the mug like all the other sublimation ''hacks" for mugs do. But it didn't and that was impressive enough for me! , I'll just be sure to buy regular shapped mugs at my Dollar Tree, I have a regular non-cruicut mug press but I've never tried tapered mugs so not sure if the pressure would be better than on the Circuits or not
It works on tumblers too.

If you keep the design size out of the tapered part of the mug, it'll work perfectly. So just use small designs or words, probably.

Hi I have a mug press but I want to know if you can do the blank in anything besides a convection of and can you use a toaster oven or anything else? For an air fryer?

Notice how DT carries those taper cups more then the regular coffee mugs they had all day long? We all need to request they carry the regular mugs too... I know you have to cure the mug after applying the coating. Can I cure it with a heat gun, or air fryer?
I did that on a tumbler but the colors are not as bright as your mug it is beautiful

Yes you can sublimate cups and tumblers in a roasting/ convection oven.
I know this video is a year older but can you bake them in a regular oven and go back using it to cook food in?.
When you use the oven in general to sublimate on cups do you suppose to set it on bake or turbo?
My oven doesn’t have a turbo setting. It’s just time and temp.

I would say no but I haven’t looked it up
I’m concerned about the chemical on the mug when drinking......are you sure there’s no residential. I’ll try with a tumbler since there’s no direct contact to the rim like with the mug. Thanks for your teachings💕
Well if you think about it, it's probably the same solution used on other items that's sublimated, mugs, coasters, etc...

@@StarsHallow My understanding, yes that will bake. But not compress the image into the creamic.
I did everything you did and it did not work. I had to bake the cup for 20 minutes to even dry and then when I tried to transfer, it didnt work. Not a reflection on you just dont know what i am doing wrong. happy it worked for you. good luck god bless

Nope I still use this cup and it hasn’t peeled or faded yet.

Hi Angel. Thanks for your experimentation with $ Tree mugs. But I thought that you could only do straight-sided mugs in the Cricut Mug Press. This is sort of angled toward the bottom and squarish on the sides. I know the other types of mugs sold by $ Tree are bigger but slope-sided. I would think your design would have to be right-sized to come in contact with the mug pressing plates. What do you think?

How did it hold up in washing
I washed it towards the end of the video. It holds up well hand washing. I haven’t tried the dishwasher though
I tried it and after a couple of washes it peeled right of 🥺
GAME CHANGER! I ordered a cheaper brand of spray off amazon. I’ll let you know if it works. I too, was concerned about the taper. I’ll find out! Esp because I’m using my Cricut to draw/color, not print on sublimation paper. Hmmm

Was there any kind of chemical smell left after you washed it ? Also could you feel the sublimation at all on the cook after it was cooked on? Was there any texture difference? Really love this video!
There was no smell afterwards and there was no texture. It was completely smooth
