    That was not a failed project. It was a learning error. Thank you for sharing❤️. I used those mugs about 2 years ago with vinyl for Father's Day gifts. They are some good quality mugs.
    I just started sublimation so this helped me out a lot. Saved me some time and a few coins.

    It does work with sublimation shrink wrap. Once you place it in the oven do a timer then turn over do another timer. Most ovens are not big enough for the tumblers/glass large mug to stand up.

      Thank you for watching! Yes, I’ve had it work on coffee mugs, so I was pretty sure it would work on the beer mug, just didn’t work the way I was trying to do it. Didn’t get the laminate tight enough around, therefore the picture didn’t either. Hopefully after my husband is recovered from his surgery, we’ll be able to video an update! I also purchased the correct shrink wrap for next one! Stay crafty!

    I saw that over heating the shrink wrap makes it melt. You don’t need to get all of the wrinkles out as the heat of the oven will continue to shrink it.

    Use heat press apply laminate on permanent vinyl can get clear or white or even glitter low heat firm pressure then press you sublimation image on the laminate 400 for 60 seconts and then you can use cricut design space to print and then cut the shape of image out of the vinyl if you have cricut machine works good I've even made for back glass of my car and on canvas from dollar tree and on htv for shirts

    Thanks so much for sharing. I've just started and I'm having a problem with lamination on tile,no matter how careful I am and how tight I get the lamination, I'm having some bubbles. I clean my tiles good and keep my fingers off so no fingerprints. Do you have any idea of what I'm doing wrong ? could it be the clear lamination sheets I'm using ? I see that you use the matte. Oklahoma folks , my son lives in Ok. City and drives a big rig for Stout Transportation. WE visited a couple of years back,looked at property in Cushing but changed our minds and came back home to Florida ! :-)

    • @theoilykrafter
      @theoilykrafter  Před 3 lety

      Thank you for watching! What ml is the clear laminate that you are using? I use 3 ml. It may be too thin or getting too hot. Are you putting the tile face down? And using all the blow papers. If any lint gets on it between the tile and laminate can cause issues too. And is the laminate you have thermal kind? I clean my tiles the day before to make sure they are completely dry. I have some fiends that live in FL and are trying to get us to move there! Let me know if any of these help!!! Have a great rest of your weekend!

      @@theoilykrafter OK thankyou. I can foresee me not printing every day as well. heard that you shouldn't leave sublimation ink printers idol for too long as the inks can dry and clog the lines! Will this peel off from the ice melting and glass gets wet from ice melting.

    • @theoilykrafter
      @theoilykrafter  Před 3 lety +1

      Thank you for watching! I’m not sure how well it will stay on the glass. Since it pretty much failed on this one and has bubbles, it probably will peel off. I plan to try again with the proper shrink wrap and adhere the laminate better to the glass. I may go ahead and put ice in it to see how it reacts!! Hope you have a great day! Have fun crafting!!

    Just curious why you don't just print the image the size you need it, then just trim access unprinted paper instead of wasting so much time with rulers and such to trim, pair scissors and just trim round edge of image not like your cutting a quilting square

    • @theoilykrafter
      @theoilykrafter  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you for watching! This was an experiment, we weren’t sure how it was going to turn out. We were using the rulers to determine what size we would need to fit on the glass. We were trying to show how we came to the conclusion of what size was needed to cover the part of the glass that we wanted printed. This was our first attempt at sublimating on this type of glass and was using the same procedure as a coffee mug. Definitely a learning experience!
