    Having owned both a 3 series and C Class I don’t know where you get off on your comments about diesel rattle and vibration. The C Class is way ahead of the 3 series in that respect. It has a vastly superior interior in quality and appearance terms. No it doesn’t handle as well as a 3 series but when do you get a chance to throw a car around like that in Britain’s crowded roads. As others have pointed out your car is also on the optional 19” wheels so the ride is bound to be firm but it’s still softer than the ride in a BMW with runflats. So pleased with it I just bought my 2nd C Class

  • @richardhaynes6781
    @richardhaynes6781 Před 6 lety +51

    As somebody who has owned 2 3 series and 4 C Class's the Mercs are much better. When he says that the driving modes don't make much difference that tells me that he was biased before he started this review. The different driving modes totally change the characteristics of the car.
    I currently have a c250 4Matic AMG and it is a joy to drive and own. Build quality is great and not as bad as he makes it out to be. It is fast and handles all sorts of driving conditions well.
    In recent times I have had the displeasure of driving an A4 and a 5 series. I'll stick to my C Class for another 3 years and then get another brand new one.

      drove both A4 and C Class (similar spec to this review) and i have to say, A4 was the better car driving wise as well as comfortable. The C Class was disappointing on rougher surfaces. I was expecting not a sporty but at least a comfort ride (even when choosing "comfort") and i didn't find it..and it was not even the AMG. The A4 was not super but at least better ride. The C Class is much more beautiful and with more elegant cabin, however some material like the shinny plastic around this wooden console feels like it will start rattling within 1-2 years.

    The driving modes completely change the feel of the car. The new C feels like a mimi S class which is suitable for normal size people, but in comparing the Audi 4 to the Benz that is not a reliable review, Benz is more luxurious and gives me variations from sport and comfort to please all styles of driving, even the 3 series’s is a sleeker driving feel, so get a merc or a bmw.

    The reason why your ride is uncomfortable is because you are driving the AMG model and on huge rims!

    • @junuvojam8453
      @junuvojam8453 Před 7 lety +1

      Well that doesn't make it his fault, if the car is uncomfortable the car is uncomfortable because Mercedes made an uncomfortable car, and it can not claim on the upside to be a very driver orientated car.
      Skip the C62 and either get an actual drivers car, or move upto a mid-ranged and much more refined mid-engine sized E class... Or get both, for the same amount of money, because this car is that overpriced! Because the C62 is bad, its bad as a performance car and bad as a luxury vehicle... It is just bad!

      i have a 2015 c 300 with the 19 inch amg multi spoke wheels. also have air suspension. if you put it in comfort mode its rides just fine. I hated the ride and it was horrible at first but i bought different tires and it changed soooo drastically , the max performance run flats and the specific brand i had were horrible. i thought it was the car but when i switched tires it made the ride very nice. also if you go in sport mode it makes a huge difference with suspension and comfort obviously . If you bought the car without air suspension and amg package they ship it with a more hard sporty suspension so im sure its not as nice. If you want smooth get the luxury package or air suspension.

There's been no mechanical mishaps whatsoever since my dad bought it all those years back. I repeat, NO issues whatsoever!!! The W123 is the one of the worlds most reliable, yet underrated cars.

    lmao you prefer the A4.. just on interior quality and styling on the exterior and interior the c class blows the audi out of the water. The c 300 actually looks very nice and elegant compared to the newer model a4s that look like a plain old boxy sedan. it blends in with hondas and fords lol. One thing ill say is the audis upgraded instrument panel that is all digital is amazing. until mercedes puts the e class and s class's display the audi wins on that front for sure.

      No need to get personal on him, he makes enough of a fool of himself on a professional level anyway. If you can't feel the nuances, you're not exactly a competent car reviewer. In fact his comment about the inconsistent weighting automatically disqualifies this channel as something you should base your decision on. In comfort it's quite numb around the middle, which is exactly what it should be given the name of the mode. Switch to Sport and it behaves more linear and direct, adding precision whilst making it slightly heavier. Having driven a BMW 125 I am very happy Sport didn't make it as artificially heavy as how BMW does it. In fact, when it comes to precision Mercedes did a fantastic job, I can throw it through Autobahn "corners" at 250 km/h and still keep it in the middle of my lane with perfect ease. BMW's "variable sports steering" is actually much harder to aim with, even if it provides slightly more feeling of where the tyres are at.
      Either way, cheers for CZcams commenters correcting off reviews.
