Thanks so much everyone for watching. Q&A coming soon so please let us know if there is anything you want answered ☺️☺️☺️☺️ so thankfull for all the comments and advice 🙏
Felixes por voces, uma área realmente muito grande, o cavalo vai amar❤
I hope keep they grass nice too hahahah 😂
It turned out that the distance between the houses there was far, and looking at the wide expanse of grass was really beautiful, like a carpet.
Awww thankyou so much 🤗🙌🙌🙌
Hi guys, just to warn you, buiding new fences at property limits near public roads in Portugal need to be placed at 4m away from the midle of the road, also if you build a concrete wall needs " licenciamento" from local 'C.Municipal", good luck😊
Ah thankyou so so much, yes we are clear. I'd love a concrete wall but unfortunately I think it's too much of a big job and not sure the horse would appreciate it hahaha. Are you based in Portugal too? 😊
Hi from Canada. The property is looking so much cleaner and neater and your fence looks great.
Thankyou so much were just trying to do something everyday and then hopefully in time the to do list gets smaller...... At the moment it seems to be getting bigger haha ☺️☺️☺️
@@escapetothequinta I'm Portuguese living in Norway, but I'm a luckly owner of a couple of properties in Sertã and Óbidos , and due to some building projects in the country side, I kwon about this law, If you need help with electricity, I think my Portuguese pappers are still lawfull, I love to see strong couples, doing what you are doing in Portugal, my huge respect and admiration, Me and wife were just waiting kid finish University, and move back.😁
Wow Norway is awesome! Im jealous that you get to see the northern lights. ☺️☺️🎉
Good job on the fence, that’s a big job done.❤️🇨🇦
Thankyou so much..... I'm in no rush to do any more fencing hahah out ears are still ringing 😆😆😆
Fence is looking great, it's also the best way of understanding how big your property is. Having to do the borders takes you where you won't necessarily be going often.👍
Hahaha indeed definitely a job I won't rush at to do again 😂😂😂😂
Really enjoy your videos! Hard workers and lots of fun! Cheering you on! Janice from Arkansas USA
Thanks so much Janice that is a place I definitely want to visit at some point 🤗🙏👍❤️
The fence looks great. You two must be so pleased. Congratulations! 🎉❤
Thankyou so much! We need to make a gate now! Trying to figure out the look we are after 😊
Great JOB guys!
Thanks so much bud, your hard work is inspiring us to keep pushing hahha. We're having a Q&A episode soon is there a question you'd like to ask? 💪😊😊😊
Buen trabajo chicos 💚
Thankyou these comments really do inspire us to work harder every day
Nice work guys, another job off the list. 1 down and unlimited still to do. 🎉🎉🎉❤
Hahah yep 1 down even more to go. I think by the time we tick one thing off 3 more get added 😆😆😆😆
Great job on the fence, it looks awesome, I can't wait to see a horse roaming around in there. I can tick a couple of location boxes, Australian in the USA. I'm loving the longer videos, you're really learning so much, Well done.
We are hoping around march or April she will be over here so soon we need to start looking for a friend for her. We want to rescue an older one to be her forever friend ☺️☺️☺️
Amazing job guys, fence looks great!!! Hope the watertank will hold out when filled up. Cheers Bert
Thanks man, I hope so too. It's been hot today so if it had more water I would jump in however as it stands I would probably break both ankles hahaha 😂😂😂
Poco a poco, saludos desde Mexico!
That's it one thing a day and your always a bit closer 🤗💪💪💪
What beautiful land you have❤
Thankyou so much, we are so excited to make it prettier and prettier with every video, I think the next video or one after is more gardening so you can see what we've been doing ☺️☺️☺️
You are doing a great job very exiting
Thanks so much we have lots of big plans for the future so we are super excited to share them with you ☺️☺️☺️
Keep up the good work ,videos are great from Hednesford in the Midlands 👏
Ahhhh are you by Cannock chase! Great place. Thanks for commenting ..... I do miss a good fish and chips from home ha! 🤪🤪🤪
I can't imagine dealing with all that bramble! Well done with that and the fence posts.
I think battling these brambles may be an ongoing task until we get goats haha having the fence up is a nice relief now. Time to do a roof!!!
You guys need like 4 goats and a donkey to take care of that big yard. And your dog would love the company. Just so much potential. Lots and lots of hard work but whoa so much to look forward.
Thanks so so much!!!! You are right about the goats for sure!!!! I'm currently researching the the idea of 2 goats and 2 sheep, this could help with the grass and the weeds maybe. We are doing a Q&A soon are there any questions you may have? 😊😊😊
Hi guy’s watching you from California! 🤗✌️
Oh wow. Thats somewhere on my bucket list for sure I've only done the east coast of the US. Thanks for watching. Means so much that our reach is going over the pond! 😊
I got a friend who makes fence gates let me know he’s in Portugal. Depends where you are in Portugal take care 😊
AHH nice we are by tomar. I'd like to try and make one but sometimes there's not enough hours in the day hahaha 😊😊😊
@@escapetothequinta yes I try and reuse any wood I can find. Keep a eye out round the big bins.
Yeah I've been keeping my eyes peeled for pallets and old furniture hahah 😂😂😂
Well done to you both your really cracking on with it 👏 me & the Mrs love watching these videos & the progress
Cheers buddy appreciate the support hopefully you see it start to come together soon 😜
❤
Love your music soundtrack you are using. Greetings from Canada. A wheel barrow might be handier than the cart for future cement projects. Off to watch the next vids.
Haha yes correct again! that pull cart is great but not for bump ground we have tipped it so many times 😂😂😂
Great job on the fence, you could do the knotting on the wire to make it even stronger.
Ahhh excellent I'll google this! 😊
You guys have done a lot, it is looking so good, I have made it this far from the beginning and I came over from Theo and Bea's Page. Looking forward to the rest of your vids you have up!
Thanks so much and I guess that's another snickers I owe Theo hahahah. Thanks so much for your comments 🙏
Great video.
Thank you so much!!!! It's comments like this that keep us going ha 🙏🙏🙏
bem vindos a portugal from dallas texas usa
Oh wow can't believe our videos travels that far. What's It like in Dallas! 😊👍🙏
Great video love that yous are so down to earth .Fence looks great will be nice too see the horse in there one day soon.
Aw thankyou so much what a lovely comment. Hopefully the horse will be over for March so excited 😊🎉🐴
Hi Guy's, great vid again! ❤ Looking great. Looks like we're gonna have to put a tool list together for you though lol. You'll find that using the right tool for the job, will at least make your life a bit easier, but also speeding things up a bit for you. What's the situation with building supplies and tool shops near by? Hopefully not a 4 or 5 hour round trip, like Theo? 👍👍
Ah that would be great. Any advice would be awesome ha. We are quite lucky we are 25 mins from a bricomarshe which is sort of like a B&Q if you are from the UK! Saving time sounds awesome I'm always up for that haha. 😊😊😊 We have a Q&A coming up so if you have any questions please let us know 😊🎉
You two do make me laugh! Cheers from Canada.
Thankyou! My brother is in Canada, he was in BC but then Ottawa! Lovely place in the world! 😊😊😊
Fence looks wonderful, well done. I can't imagine the amount of pruning. Removing unsightly growth can really change the look of a property. Stay focused and stay safe. Thank you for all the time your putting into the content.
Aww what a lovely comment 😊😊 thank you so so much and yes the place seems to be evolving the more effort we put in, we absolutely love it! We are doing a Q&A soon Are there any questions you have? Have a lovely weekend and just know you have made ours with that comment 😊😊🎉
I'm anxious to see the tractor up and running. It was spinning so well, I was sure it was going to pop!!!@@escapetothequinta
I know I need to find a day to try again I've been given some really good advice so I think we will be one step closer very soon 🚜
Well done great work this week. Jealous of your weather
It's lovely at the moment I need to get a padding pool haha. Where in the world are you? We have a Q&A soon are there any questions you have? 🎉😊💡
The power of the finger click can never be underestimated 😊
I am not a height person either you would not get me up on the water tower 😊
Hahhaha indeed its a powerful tool 😂😂😂 Sophia would not even step on the ladder 😂 it's got a great view. Maybe it needs a barrier ha
❤❤
Thanks so much 😊😊😊
You need to contact Theo from "The Indie Projects",videos who is also in Portugal. I think he bought gates. It is call a post driver. And now you know. 👍👍👍👍👍
He was in the last video 🙏🙏🙏..... Ahhh post driver I see now I know..... I wasn't far off with post basher hhahha 😂😂😂
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Awesome effort you two .. the biggest takeaway I witnessed was your support for each other .. you two make a great team and your fur baby .. can’t wait to meet your horse .. what’s it’s name ? Sorry to hear about its tooth operation ..hope all went okay 🫶..loved the handyman tools 🛠️..💯effort for OH&S ..loved the water tank .. 🤞..it’s working and adds water 💦 where you need it .. great idea about the pond for the horse .. just be careful about stagnating water .. lots of bacteria and mosquitoes..and other bugs..loved the tree pruning .. the property is certainly taking shape .. 😊🫶..can’t water for the next project 🍀😊🫶
Aww thankyou so much we are a good team and the main thing is having fun as we work! The horses full name is firefly but we just called her fly. about the pond I think your right about the bacteria I would definitely need it to keep filling from tank and keep it moving. I don't need any more mosquitos in my life then need be hhahha. We have a Q&A coming up is there anything specific you would like to ask us both? Thanks again for commenting it makes our day ☺️☺️☺️☺️
Firefly beautiful name .. did you purchase her in Portugal ? Definitely 💯 worth pruning all the trees ..love to see the tractor 🚜 going ? What shelter do you plan on providing firefly ..summers are scorchers and winters are bloody cold 🥶 good 👍 on you about mosquitoes and bugs ..water catchments can make animals very sick with parasites if not treated properly.. good luck 🤞 🛠️🍀🚜..looking forward to seeing if the water tanks fill up .. great for garden 🪴 and trees ..tank storage’s are good .. neighbours probably have some experience with water catchments and storage ?? The locals can be full of information about farming hacks .. ? Are the people who surround you forthcoming and willing to support newbys ?
Cheers for now .. Alika 😊
Firefly was rescued from the UK in quite a sorry state and was brought up to the point of competing in dressage events, she's a wonderful horse. We were thinking of making a log looking timber stable with a tin roof. ☺️☺️☺️🐴🐴🐴
Great video 🎉
Thanks bud. Still getting to grips with the equipment but onwards and upwards 👍💡💪
What an amazing job once more! Not only that gorgeous fence you made absolutely flawless but all the work cleaning the water tank and little pump house is amazing! Your energy is quite catching! Keep up the good works guys!
Cheers dude. It was a load of work but again one job off the list haha it was a bit stressful tensioning it but we made a rig out of 2 planks and sime ratchet straps and seemed to work well. What I've learnt is 90% of the jobs that need doing Involve digging hahaha 😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣 yep most of the jobs on a farm need some kind of digging! I can say that you've made a better job tensioning that fence than I would do! is 5⭐ work! Congrats!@@escapetothequinta
Ratchet straps seemed to do the job..... Not a job I'd rush to do again any time.soon hahahaha. We're down in alenquer tomorrow 😊
@@escapetothequinta that’s great! There’s a saying “Do what you like and you’ll not work a day in your life” I think that applies to farming xD Oh really? Nice place! You’ll be close to me then!
Normally I would have said if you were free we could say hello but we had such a me day we didn't get back until late, we went to view 2 cars both which were trash, then we went to help board up a window but the house was in a much worse state then we thought etc ..... Long day hahaha weather was lovely though! ☺️
So pretty❤️🐨🐨
Thankyou so much we love it, we may go to the river beach soon as film it to show you all how pretty it is in this area! 😊
@@escapetothequinta I look forward to that.. 🐨🐨
It's so peaceful!
Hope your horse is okay with her tooth operation. Well done on the fencing 👍
Aw thankyou so much really means a lot. The operation was a success and there are no further signs of infection so just waiting for the all clear now and then we can get her back up to her normal weight and then get her over here. Means a lot thankyou 🙏🙏🙏
@@escapetothequinta That’s really good to know, anything where a sedation is need for horses tends to give me the heebie-jeebies 🙃 Can’t wait for you to get her over there with you.
It won't be long hoping about march or April! Need to roll this field and cut the grass ready for her.... Lots to do hahh 😆☺️
Looks like a 5000 to 8000 litres, more or less.👍
Yeah that's what I was thinking. At least 5,000. Trying to find a local sparky to check borehole this week 🙏😊
Good morning, once again a strong, honest vid, no fluff no slava, just getting on with it. Yes these jobs are not glam, but much needed for the journey ahead. Well done, keep it real, keep it honest. Cheers Dave
From one David to another thankyou for these comments there the ones which get us out of bed in the morning. We are doing a Q&A soon is there anything you would like to ask? Thanks again 😊😊😊😊
I have a qyestion, AAre you guys living near your property? While you do the work---before the cow shed is ready for move-in, how about bringing a rented CARAVAN onto the property? @@escapetothequinta
There are preowned- "motor homes" we calll them in the states? IF, if! you could afford to purchase one, you could have accommodations for anyone who comes to visit or HELP!
Laura, 74 yr. old fan, from Michigan, USA
Excellent we will add this to the Q&A ☺️☺️☺️
Oooo help would be great hahah 🙏🙏🙏
I'm afraid that after a few years your fence might sag. Here's a channel or two that has recently added fences. DIY Farm... And Sow the Land. I think you might need a H brace on each corner. Better to do it right the first time. Than to have to do it again with more expense and having to house the horse later. Hope this helps.
Ah thanks for the advice yes we have h posts on all the concrete posts and tensioned it with a car and ratchet straps so it's pretty tight. Hopefully it's good for a long while 😊😊😊
Great job I got all this to do on my land there’s a caravan somewhere on my property 😂😊
If you have a friend to help it'll make it so much easier, so hard alone. How many metres do you have to do? 🎉
@@escapetothequinta it looks like the fence on my land ok . but what really know until I get all the brambles cut down . not looking forward to that bit. Someone told me to get welding gloves .so I did .I have to 🤣 Thay go all the way up my shoulders 🤣 I am only 4foot 11 . Hopefully I won’t get cut on brambles.
Only 70 meters on this new bit of land 45 minutes from Costello Branco 😊
I made a rig with 2 planks and then put ratchet strap on car to tension it up seemed to work really well. The brambles are the worst aren't they every night I'm picking thorns out of myself hahah 😂🙏😊
That's enough hahha
You're making great progress! The land is so beautiful. Great team working on the fencing!
Love the channel and always look forward to what comes next. Have a wonderful day!❤❤❤
Thank you so much you have a lovely weekend too. Thanks for watching , it's comments like this that make us make these videos. 🎉🙏🙏🙏☺️
Thought you would have parked the car next to the barn 😂..Nice job
That would have been ideal but the land was so so wet I could barely get it on the drive hopefully the dry weather will make that easier 😊😊😊 thanks for commenting and have a lovely weekend
And next year you will have nice fruit
I hope so and plenty to make some jams too
Well done!
Thank you so so much 😊😊😊 we have a Q&A coming up soon please let us know if you have any questions 🙏🎉
Excellent Job!
Thanks so much, means so much getting lovely comments like this 😊😊😊
Land area looks massive guys ❤️ I always wondered how long wooden fences last as they tend to rot around the soil? I know they have been treated but still .
Ahhh I will check this and answer it on the Q&A ..... They best last 10 years hahahhaa
I love the music you played in the first segment can you share who that was? Enjoying your progress. 😊
Hello thanks for commenting, I will reply this evening with the name of the song we are just on the way down south today to check on a family members house so once back I'll fire up the laptop and share the name.... It's a lovely song isn't it so tranquil. ☺️☺️☺️
The song is called Copper Horse by Kylie Dailey. Enjoy! I love this sort of music!!!! ☺️☺️☺️
You can buy ready-mied concrete , ( post Crete ) ideal for this no mixer required.
I can tell your from the states ..... They don't do that here...... I wish they did it would have made it so much easier! 😊😊👍
Live in France...@@escapetothequinta
Ahhh really I didn't know you could get it in Europe!!!!! Maybe I need to do some more research! Whereabouts in France are you when we moved here we stayed Niort for a night it was lovely and we drove through some lovely roads ☺️
@@escapetothequinta we have a house in SW France near Limoges , 24 acres with a lake and woodland . Main home near Chester in the UK.
Wow sounds amazing!!!! ☺️☺️☺️
You guys don't have what they call quickrete where you are? Basically it is concrete which you put it in dry in the hole and then just add water to it. So much easier than mixing and all that extra work? Oh and awesome job on the fence . Haffy from Maine USA
Ahhh yeah I watch a couple in the US who use this seems so much easier, rip the bag add water, go and get a beer 😆😆😆😆
Nice progress. Did you know that in the U.S alone there are more than 164,000 ladder related accidents? 300 a year are fatalities and most ladder deaths are from falls 10’ and under. Now I know that it’s an extreme hardship to go get yourself a proper height step ladder, and you look so cool balancing yourself on top of it, but come on man . Oh well, at least you’ll leave a pretty widow. 😑 Seriously though, you owe to yourself to stay safe. Best wishes, Moody.
Thanks Moody I do need another ladder. I bought an aluminium one but I do think that a platform type thing would be useful long term. Any that you would recommend? Thank again I honestly am listening to all the advice as it comes it may just take a few videos until you see the results ha 😊🙏🙏🙏
@@escapetothequinta 👍 I would think that if you were going to be renovating buildings and maintaining trees and such that you would have a vast collection of step ladders from 2’all the way to 10’ and at least one extension ladder which I believe you already have. Remember it’s not just the top of the step ladder that is dangerous, the warning labels and all safety institutions will tell you to stay off off the step below it as well. Last but not least, spend the extra money for fiberglass ladders. They will last you a lifetime. 😎
That would be nice, we moved all out belongings from the UK so the plan is to buy things as we need them, but for sure we need to research what's best so we only buy once. I've never heard of fibreglass ladders I'll have to research them 😊😊😊👍
Здравствуйте ребята, удачи в делах. Поехать поддержать друга во время лечения зуба это очень мило.
Thankyou so much, it was actually Sophia's horse that he the operation. I think she is getting better now 😊😊😊🙏
That post you're working on looks really close to the road. There's no setback building requirements there? In my area you can't set posts 10' from the road
It's from the centre of the road here so that end post works out okay because the road opens up. Thanks for the advice though. I think if it was concrete blocks I would have to be further back. Thankyou 😊😊😊
One thing you can do is prune the trees like apples pears that I saw
Indeed, will get some good fruit then the pears are so tasty, like conference pears 😊🎉
Hi a new subscriber watching! Beautiful work on the fencing! I would not consider a drainage ditch from many neighboring properties a good idea for a pond for horse access. You have no idea what upstream pesticides these people are using on their land, a drainage ditch may even contain sewage, please divert it away from your gated in area. Hence drainage!
Very good point. This one literally only goes across the road for surface water but your right maybe oil or things from cars on the road could get washed into the pond.... I think I will follow your advice and drain it off the property 🙏🙏🙏
Wille you cleaned the tank water you could have pruned part of the tree
Yes we pruned some.of the fig tree now will give us some amazing fruit later in the year I hope 😊😊😊
My wife is dying to know whats the name of the band the music you are playing.
Which part? The first song is called Copper Horse by Kylie Dailey. I love country music 🎶
You couldn't back the van up to the door?
I wish the ground was so boggy we could just about get it onto the drive. Had 3 meters cubed of gravel delivered so I'm hoping this works 😬
Awesome@@escapetothequinta .
😊
Is it me or are these guys brothers ?
Brother from another mother, are you talking about me and Theo ha 😊👍👍👍
Yes 😮😮@@escapetothequinta
Maybe we are maybe we're not 😆😆😆😆😆😆 I do see what you mean though hahhhah
