    Appreciated your review. Purchased one with Rush metalc paint sight unseen and not driven. Pick it up tomorrow. Dealers are offering great deals now, good time to buy. I went with the 6.2 instead. 5-17-24 Got my Sierra Denali Ultimate with the 6.2 en gine. Ride is awesome, so much power, and the seats are supportive and hold you in place. I almost bought a Ford Platinum, glad I decided on the GMC instead. Again, your video swayed my decision.

    For those hesitant to use the Super Cruise, there are options to ease you into use. You can set the cruise to follow the vehicle in front of you, similar to adaptive cruise, but have it steer hands free within your lane without automatically changing lanes. You can set lane change to be disabled or authorized via manual turn signal input. Once you gain confidence you can switch back to full feature mode.

    What I don’t like about the truck is the center transmission control. I prefer it on the steering wheel. This is why I haven’t traded my current Yukon in for the newer one. Whenever I get the truck, I’m just going to get the 2500.
    Funny, how you talk about supercruise as if it’s a person. …and that is why I have stock in GMC, and after watching your video, I’m going to buy some more.😂

      You're not the first to say that about the shifter on the center console, but I actually like it as it gives me a place to rest my hand when my arm is on the armrest. The tech-geek in me likes it because it's a "shift-by-wire" handle and not an actual lever, but an electric switch instead. Reminds me of the fly-by-wire controls in modern aircraft, where flight controls are negotiated, not by pulleys and cables, but actuators and switches.

It had 20k miles I bid it to $60k think it brought $65k which was a pretty good deal but I would have had to go up to ATL to pick it up not that big of a deal though only a 5-6 hour drive to get up there. That was a really good review. I was especially interested in the supercruise 2. I have a 2021 F-150 Lariat with the 502a package which includes blue Cruise. Super Cruise does look better. It changes lanes on its own and apparently you can use super Cruise while Towing. Blue Cruise does not work while you're towing and you have to change lanes manually. (How primitive)😂.
    Although the Duramax Diesel does get really decent gas mileage, diesel fuel is more expensive and the engine still only puts out 460 lb-ft of torque. NOT impressive for a diesel! My 3.5 L EcoBoost puts out 510 lb ft of torque which is apparently more than the GM gas engines or diesels. I would really like for you to do a review on a 2024 Ford F-150 with a 3.5 L EcoBoost and blue Cruise.

    • @TMRI1970
      @TMRI1970  Před 6 měsíci

      Thanks for the nice words and for watching. I owned a 3.5L eco-boost in my F150 Platinum and it was a great little mill and towed my 9500lb boat without breaking a sweat! I loved that truck, but you really need to run premium with the eco-boost engines, which costs about the same as diesel, and sometimes it is more than diesel, so the LZ0 duramax is a clear winner there! I also had the dreaded "eco-boost shudder" which almost got me killed while merging in front of an 18-wheeler. I'll work on getting a hold of a new f150 to review when my dealership gets one in to loan me for the day. Stay tuned for that!

    • @philcarter21
      @philcarter21 Před 5 měsíci

      @@TMRI1970 I have read about the shudder and some other issues on one of the Facebook F-150 Forums. I have over 50k on my 2021 and have not experienced any of those issues thus far. In 2021 Ford modified the Eco-Boost to have 2 spark plugs for each cylinder. Maybe that corrected the shudder issue.
      The technology is pretty amazing, but it is evolving slowly when it comes to autonomus driving.
      Ford has apparently updated the Mach-e Mustang to have BlueCruise 2.0 which adds features to do an autonomous lane change. Hopefully, that update will come to the F-150 lineup soon. It would be great if you could do an F-150 with BlueCruise 2.0 comparison to your Denali Ultimate. I have watched the review of the Mach-e Mustang, and it appears that the lane change capabilities may be more sophisticated on your truck.
      Thanks for doing the reviews.

    Is the lack of regen notification just a GMC thing or is it across the board for all 3 major brands? If GMC, does the 2500 and 3500s not notify you as well? Looking into a DRW 3500 in the coming years come retirement.

      I'm so glad you enjoyed it and congrats BTW, on your upcoming acquisition! I am using a Uniden R-7 radar detector and a hard wire kit I purchased on Amazon. I popped off the plastic housing around my rearview mirror using plastic trim removal tools that I purchased at harbor freight. You don't need the tools to pop off that piece but I already had them, so why not use them. The power plug for the digital rearview camera has a power wire which only energizes when the ignition button is pressed. I tapped into that and tucked the remaining wire under the plastic housing and snapped it back into place. Super easy to do! As for the mount, it came with the detector and works out great for the GMC! Thanks for the question and for watching and feel free to let me know if you have any more questions.

    • @TMRI1970
      @TMRI1970  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Wind noise is minimal due to the heavier, sound insulating glass and sound deadening materials throughout the truck. GMC did a nice job in this regard! There is some wind noise from the sunroof area at speeds > 65 mph, but it's not obnoxious and pretty typical of vehicles equipped as such. Tire noise is virtually non-existent because it's basically riding on street tires. Switching to a more aggressive tread pattern would no doubt allow tire noise into the cabin. I imagine road noise is much worse on the Sierra AT4 model due to its off-road tires. As for the engine, the 3.0L diesel is surprisingly quiet at highway speeds and you only really hear it under full acceleration, and even then it's relatively subtle. Other than a few minor plastic pieces (typical GMC), and the lack of a lighted glove compartment, the build quality is top-notch!

      It's pretty low, as you would expect at this price point. The tires are excellent as far as ride comfort is concerned, but they are not much good off the pavement! I don't venture off the beaten path with this truck, so im ok with that. Wind buffer from the sunroof becomes noticeable at around 65-75 mph, which is pretty much unavoidable with the sunroof. Overall, it is most definitely a luxury truck!
