- This week we are FINALLY building a dining table for Dylan's apartment. I am so in love with how this turned out, it is exactly what I had envisioned. One day it'll be in our home, so I am super happy that it''s so cute.
Thank you Nite Ize for sponsoring this week's video!

Thank you so much for watching! Here is the Project Plans for this Dining Table: www.woodbrew.tv/store/p/diy-modern-dining-table-plans
This was perfect as a vanity desk for me. czcams.com/users/postUgkxMAlHv7-BBWMrPRm5-uEoD6rtdT7SG2Qr Especially the glossy finish. Easy to cleanI was looking for something that wasn't the traditional white and with more of a modern feel. This fit the bill beautifully. I put it together with no problems, by myself in under an hour.Make sure you double check where you place the drawer tracks before screwing down. I had one track that needed to be aligned with different holes than the rest.
This is a valuable addition to my woodwork collection czcams.com/users/postUgkxkNYRBJuiJ6EwD-tQSAlxg0eFKsnR2cgz I still will rate this woodwork plan as the best in my reference library. It always seem to stand out from the rest whenever you go through the library. This is a masterpiece.
Excellent design and video as always. Great to see young people accomplishing great things.
Guys, loved this video! The threaded inserts to attach the legs look SUPER clean and professional. That pine is going to age so well! Also, the ad integration was useful and helpful to the viewer - that’s the way to do it!
So glad you liked everything!!
Beautiful, modern and elegant! Thanks for sharing this easy to understand step by step video! Great job! :)
I love your video editing and filming techniques!! We have a lot to learn from you!
This is amazing!! Great work and thanks for sharing 👏🏼👍
Very savvy design! The details and simplicity+elegance. (And love your team flow; working seamlessly together and having fun is very admirable)
Thank you so much!!
Great simple build that looks so nice. I really like the threaded inserts so you can easily take it apart for moving.
Thank you! We love this table!
Nice looking dining table Dylan & Molly Thank you for sharing the video.👌👍😎JP
totally love it. Thanks for sharing!
Great design, I like the modern look of it. You could make the holes on the table legs under the top bigger, so it wont split because of wood movement. Nice looking table anw
beautiful table, its look like you have used pine and brushing this wood will make it awesome
Simple but very nice design. I love it! Well done.
Thank you!!!
Amei....genial essa dupla!!! Parabéns

Turned out awesome guys!
your projects are simple cheap easy and awesome
Wow superb modern looking and sturdy table 😍
welcome back from your vacation! Glad to see you're back with the videos
Woo hoo!!
Great looking table thoroughly enjoyed watching the build 👌👍
Fun video. You guys are a good team. Thanks for sharing.
Helpful tip: if you can attach your shop vac to your orbital sander it will help tremendously with the dust. If the port on your sander is a little too small, wrap it with some electrical tape to better fit the shop vac.
Thanks!
i love the organization. those gear ties will make shop life simple.
Game changer!
Very well organized and team work . thank you for sharing 👍
Thank you so much 👍
Great project, super design and elegant results
Thank you ! ❤️
I liked your video guys. You had fun while doing it and I felt the same watching it.
This table looks amazing. I love that you've used pine. I feel like it's an under appreciated wood. Great job guys
Yes! Thank you so much
no, there's a reason why pros don't use pine...it's softwood that dents super easy.
Great looking table design guys ! Nicely done.
Thanks!!
Wow. Just, wow. By far the best DIY table I've seen on YT. And there are a lot. This design is so sleek and gorgeous. I love it! And I feel like I could totally do this myself. Cheers!
Thank yo so so much!! So happy you like it!
Good, informative video, beautiful table, and nice with a little banter as well
Thank ya :)
So in love. You guys killed it!
Ahh thank you Rachel!! 🙃
You are putting together an awesome apartment. Great video and project.
Thank you!❤️
i noticed the end grain on the joined boards for the table are matching paterns on some of the boards. not like it matters now and the end grain needs to be mismatched in order have opposing tention when the boards shift with the seasons for warping over time.
Nice, clean and easy to make! Congrats!
Glad you liked it!
Awesome video editing and very informative. Two thumbs up.
Digging the Chip & Joanna shirt. Great work on this table BTW, and I will probably make one just like this for the house. Thanks again, and subbed.
Awesome!! :)
I'm amazed by how you guys make beautiful and simple designs. I'm just starting on with a project to build the furniture of my house and you guys made a lot easier for me to try it out.
You can do it!!
Great job as usual👍
Great project and video. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice simple design
Awesome, great job :D Starting my own dining table today :D
Have fun!
this turned out so pretty and elegant!! If only I had half of your tools to make it myself 😳
Gorgeous 😍so minimalistic and elegant
Glad you like it!
Really nice work. You guys made it look easy 😊
Great video! What hose do you have on your shop vac? We are looking for a new one!
Thank you! I think it’s 2 1/2”. The hose reel is really great too!
The threaded inserts are a good idea.
❤️❤️
ustedes 2 son adorables gracias por compartirnos sus habilidades
I love it!
Great job.
That is beautiful! :D
LOVE THIS! Curious of this can be done with OSB board and adapted to counter height?
Probably yes! You may need some extra support for the top though!
Hope to see more videos like the old days love the channel god bless
Thank you so much! Kind of embarrassing we haven’t done a glue up like this in so long 😅
Simple belleza. Thanks from México
Thank you! Cheers!
I like the simplicity. You guys have come a long way and I admire that you put yourself out there, this is something I still struggle with. I would recommend metal bases instead of the pine bases, same design. Too much force or weight in one direction and the base will fail. I've seen it happen. Table could also rack in the future with too much force if you don't provide any reinforcement. I work in QA for a major furniture retailer and I see all the design flaws. Love the content and hope you guys for years to come. I don't see a lot of wood workers our age, so it's a nice change.
awesome as always...welcome back
Lol it’s been a minute 😅 Thank you!
Beautiful piece, congratulations!
Perfect minimal dining table :)
Glad you like it!!
This table looks sooooo good! :)
Thank you so much!!
Amazing! 👏🏼👏🏼 I love your videos and all your projects keep it up 👍🏼

Simple and beautiful. Can be a desk as well.
Absolutely!
Projeto top parabéns.
My god you two are so young and you so professional. Great job Thanks
Thank you so much!
Nice working friends, you are great 👍
Nice and clean, I like it :)
beautiful design and implementation
just curious after a year, is the table top sagging a little? I'm planning to make apron-less table soon and trying to assess the possible solutions.
And what happens when the table top decides to expand and contract when acclimating to seasonal weather changes. The threaded inserts are great however, you need to allow for movement by elongating the holes in the base cauls that the bolts are going through.
Can you explain this another way to a noob? What do you mean by "elongating the holes in the base cauls that the bolts are going through."?
@@boltup5566 wood will expand and shrink based across the wood grain, and nearly none with the grain, so as this happens, you can make more of a slot than a round hole to take this into account and allow for the movement. If not you could see some cracks begin to form as the top tries to expand and is held in place by the stronger long grain
Hola Chicos. Me emociona ver como hacen trabajos tan bonitos y bien hechos. Siendo unas personas tan jóvenes que a diferencia de los demás chicos de hoy no saben ni apretar un tornillo. Felicidades un abraso.
¡Muchas gracias!
Kool and simple. Nice work.💪
Appreciate it!
nice work! love it!
Thank you!
Guys your works very interesting
Thanks for share
I’m from iraq
Keep going
Thank you!!!
OMG CONGRATS 👏👏👏👏👏❤️
Beautiful table, guys, I really love the clean lines and subtle angles of the legs. I may get the plans and scale it down to coffee table size. I think the top and legs should've been finished prior to assembly though, and did you remember to elongate the two outside bolt holes on the legs to allow for wood movement?
Also, where'd you get that rug it's sitting on? I like that.
Hello there. If you don't mind, would you explain a bit more about the elongated bolt holes technique? I've read a couple of comments mentioning the same, but still not quite understand what it means. Thank you!
@@jonathanvelasco7332 Jack Houweling does an excellent job explaining it his his video (czcams.com/video/11FSv1zc44Y/video.html), and you can see the elongated holes in the top stick he uses. Pretty much, they're just an oval hole with the smaller dimension just a tad larger than your bolt, and the longer a few millimeters larger or so. The bolt placed in the center of this table is fine, and shouldn't need an elongated hole, but the two on the ends do. Also a good idea to use a bolt without threads in the upper portion like the one you see used to screw the threaded inserts in. Adds only a minimal bit of work, but prevents the table from tearing itself apart as it swells and shrinks with the seasons.
Thanks!
Great job!
Wow great job!
Thank you!
Is that strong enough for the leegs ?
Clean and simple
Heck yea :)
like the idea, but i would have beveled to top at the same angles as the legs
David Ewers Photography that a great idea,
Beautiful table, great video. Just curious why you trace the wood pieces and not add a stop block for repeat cuts. Stop block is 100% guaranteed to make identical cuts and saves so much time.
As someone wanting to dive into woodworking, I love tribal knowledge like this.
Simple but nice
Hey guys, how did you find the stability of the table with this design? Did it have much movement etc? Cheers!
Looks good and it's simple. One minor thing, I'd have drilled in a bit to inset the bolts. Also probably needs some support lengthwise. A small apron close to the legs might fix that.
❤️❤️
Awesome idea to use bolts to attach the legs. I wanted to make a nice wood table with folding legs. I think I'll go with detachable legs instead. How sturdy is the table?
Pretty sturdy! If you feel the need, you can brace the two bases with a stretcher board connecting them :)
Hey guys. Does the table shake at all? I’m debating on whether I should go with the metal or wood legs.
Great video! Do you guys like biscuit joints better than dowel joints? Which is easier?
Biscuits for glueing up table tops ☺️ They both are about the same especially if you have a dowel jig!
Question: why did you have to make the top in two separated pieces?
I'd like to know where you found what looks like no. 1 select pine in 2x6 size!? Great looking stuff!
Home Depot!
WOW! This turned out so great! That's a really elegant design. Where did you get such clear pine? Can't wait to get these plans
Thanks y'all! Our Homedepot started carrying these super nice 5/4 boards! Y'all are too sweet:)
